I didn't care for how they felt so I returned them. I keep getting asked to review them though.

I so wanted to like the Hoka’s. While it had solid soles, with good support, the speed goat fell short on the material for the shoe. As soon as I put my foot in, it seemed to collapse. The material has no structure, and no support for the foot. The material for the tongue was just a thin piece of material, which I expect would be uncomfortable after awhile. Too expensive for what this shoe is.

I agree with other reviews that the tongue is very stiff and uncomfortable. I had to return them.

I love this brand but this pair is obviously made poorly. Less than a month old, not even worn on a “real run” just around the house and the seam is coming apart!

I have many pairs of Hokas that I love, so had high hopes, but no. These hurt my feet during every use, the tongue rubs on my ankle when wearing no show socks, don't stay tied (only pair of Hokas like this), and they crease. This is one Hoka shoe I would not recommend.

I have been buying Speedgoats for years. This most recent IV has been very disappointing. The new tongue design is a major fail. It's thin and rubs in places it shouldn't. If I can ever stand to wear them long enough to possibly break them in, then maybe that part would improve. Please go back to the padded tongues!

The grip on this shoe is fantastic. However, I found the upper and tongue to be quite irritating. Tongue left me with blisters on the front of ankle (even with wearing long socks) and the upper creased and would aggravate the tops of my feet, leaving marks after each run. Just sent these in for a return today and am in the market for a trail running shoe! I've heard nothing but great things about the EVO Speedgoat and am hoping to give them a try if they come back in stock.

comfortable hiking shoe all around, but I have to return them because the hard plastic tongue is too long for the shoe; it butts up against the front of my ankle and is extremely uncomfortable. I won't buy anymore Hoka hiking shoes unless I can try them on in a store. Whoever changed this on the shoe should be fired.

Nice looking shoe. Great heel cushioning but poor forefoot cushion. Worn for 2 days and will be returning.

The tongue on this version of the Speedgoat doesn't have any padding or 'thickness' to it, it's just a thin piece of material with a somewhat sharp edge. Doesn't seem like it would matter, but after running several miles and the top edge of the tongue rubbing against my foot, it broke the skin on one foot and rubbed a raw spot on the other foot. Too bad because otherwise these were pretty good. Will be returning, hopefully Zappo's 30-day returns for used running shoes is a real thing.

I would not buy this particular style again. They are way too narrow in the toe for me and don't have the same amount of comfort as any of my other hokas.

They were well cushioned but it felt like my heel was so much lower than the rest of my foot. I didn't like it. Returned

Very disappointed. Tried walking in these at home and the top creases down onto the foot, which can't possibly be good for outdoor activity. These also run a full size larger than my other running shoes. The cushioning is phenomenal, but of no use if the shoe is terrible.

I wanted to love this sneaker, but the sizing isn't correct. I wear nothing but Euro 44s for shoes and sneakers without issue. The Hoka size chart converted that to a US Size 11, which I've now learned isn't correct. Euro 44 is more like a US 11 1/2. I wanted to replace with a size up, but Hoka apparently doesn't make them. I needed to switch to a different brand altogether.

I discounted the reviews that said that the tongue was gouging into people’s skin. I shouldn’t have! It is terribly uncomfortable there, which is disappointing because the rest of the shoe is fabulously comfy.

I spent a lot of time researching hiking shoes and chose these Hoka’s. I loved the yellow orange color and that they were so light. Short in my size for my big foot. No arch support in my opinion. Worst of all, I didn’t notice that the tongue wasn’t padded. It came high up on my ankle and the sharp edge was painful.
I'd also recommend:
I switched to the heavier and gray Oboz Sawtooth Low with arch support and a padded tongue.

I have worn HOKAs for years and loved them. The Speedgoat 4, however ran narrow and the high heel support caused blisters. These shoes were a fun color, but truly uncomfortable.

I tried these, but I find I can only wear arahi or gaviota for my overpronation.

I bought these because of rave reviews I had read online. However I bought my usual size 10 and they fit like boats- too wide & too long and not to mention pretty unattractive and feel cheaply made but extremely well marketed. Would return if I hadn’t worn once already.

Well, I know I walk a lot, but after only 3 months, these shoes completely fell apart. I expected a much longer shelf-life for $150 sneakers! They were good while they lasted, bu I would not buy again.

I really wanted to like these but the overall fit wasn't right. After awhile they made my toes go numb. I did not like that tongue was sew in with elastic and that the tongue itself was almost plastic like and stiff. As far as cushioning goes they were comfortable and cushy. However, I have struggled to find a pair of Hoka shoes that I love.

I purchased speedgoat twice among those 2 this one hurts where the tounge of the shoe when it rubs my leg it hurts so much to the point it gives abrasions to my leg. My co-worker bought the same thing and have the same complaint.

Same as the other reviewers..the tongue has no padding and digs directly into ankle. Should have skipped the purchase, but wanted to see for myself.

I have the same complaint as many others -- that darn tongue just sticks into your skin. How disappointing, when I so love Hoka shoes!
