It is very comfy but unfortunately I ran into the tongue problem . The tongue is rather hard and rubbery and it rubbed against my ankle constantly. I thought about cutting the tongue smaller but decided not to risk ruining the expensive shoes. I am returning them to exchange with another model. Too bad since I was happy with grip and cushion.

The only thing I dont like about this shoe is that the tongue is so stiff it hurts to do anything. I put bandaids on, it seemed to help not get blisters.

It took 10-12 miles to break them in, but I have decided to keep them. The tongue rubs with low socks, but is fine with taller ones.

They feel a little snug but other than that I Love them! They are my hiking outside shoe and Give me awesome support. I also use them when I do my inside (garage) cycling. They grip the pedals really well and keep my feet from bending like regular tennis shoes. I don't have clips on this bike. Didn't see a wide in this shoe? I am keeping them even if not.

As other reviewers mentioned Hoka’s aren’t true to size within brand in different styles I pulled the foot beds out of multiple styles and stacked them up. These definitely a bit bigger. Also traction on these even when just a little bit wet isn’t as trustworthy. Still will always have a pair on hand for long runs as the extra cushion translates to how I recover.

I loved this shoe. Unfortunately I had to return and it did not come in wide. My right foot is wider and I could not wear the shoe but the shoe on the left felt wonderful.

Love the speedgoats! I have both 3&4. I would say the tongue on 4 is a bit of a design flaw. It cuts in and isn't comfortable. I would have to wear thick and high socks to avoid it cutting. I am not sure why there was a change from the tongue of speedgoat 3. I tried the challenger as well and went back to speedgoat. For sure my favourite trail running shoe!!

I had a pair of Hoka slides that made my aching feet happy so I thought I should pair try a pair of shoes to see if they would do the same. They did not. They don't have the arch support that the slides have, and the tongues dig into my ankles.

Loved these shoes and they were comfortable however there was some internal bulge, twisted lace or eyelet that kept rubbing on my ankle. I tried re- lacing and even padding the area where it rubbed. Since it was only on 1 shoe I figured it was a defect in manufacturing and had to send them back.

The toe box at the ball of the foot is too narrow. It is narrower than all my other 3 pairs of Hokas. I bought these to wear on ice and they are definitely better than non-trail Hokas but I can't wear them all day, they don't have nearly the cushioning.

So i guess you can't wear ankle socks with these, the tongue design is problematic, first there thin and secondly there not straight across. Caused rubbing to occur and now both ankles look like I have a cut across them. Hoka, not sure what you guys were thinking but I wish I could have returned these.

I was looking for a shoe that I can wear while training dogs. It needs to be waterproof, as even on non-rainy days, the grass is wet from the due. So far so good as far as keeping my feet dry. However HOKA - PLEASE OFFER WIDE WIDTH! Also, the very stiff tongue caused blisters. I can only wear them with socks that cover my ankle completely. Not my style in the summertime. On the positive, they are fairly lightweight. I am not returning them, as I NEED some waterproof shoes, but I'm definitely not in love with them. I have not owned them long enough to rate durability. With a shorter/padded tongue and wide-width option, I would love them.

I normally wear a size 7 wide. Unfortunately, this style does not come in wide. I finally settled on 7.5 and it's still tight. I do like that it's all weather which is why I bought them. I did have to work with customer service and they were wonderful. It's a great company. They should make all their shoes with a wide option.

I love the GTX waterproof design--wish it came in an Arahi 6! I have a Right foot bone spur and fallen arches. This is the foot it negatively affects. Otherwise my left foot is very warm and comfortable on my feet. It does seem more narrow than I expected.

Ordered same size as the regular Speedgoat, but this GTX version was very stiff and was very painful at the base of my first toe. I was not even able to tolerate trying to break it in. Too bad, it looks well constructed and has the features I desire, but I had to return it.

I love my other Hokas but these were way too narrow in the front. Nice looking but they had to go back.

They would be great but the tongue hurts my ancle and bruises the top of my foot quite badly. I almost consider returning because the pain isnt ignorable. Grip is good, comfortable on the bottom of foot and waterproof

Uncomfortable. They are attractive shoes, but the soles are hard and offer no arch support. I was also disappointed in the condition in which they arrived — obviously used, with dirty soles and marks on the outside of the midsole. I do understand (and don’t mind) that I may be purchasing shoes someone has tried on and returned, but these looked more worn than a simple try-on, something I’ve never seen from Zappos before.

When I first put on the shoes, I felt a digging on the top of my right foot, I checked the tongue and it seems to have been sewn incorrectly. I tucked it in as I put the shoe back on and it was fine for 15/20 minutes.
I like the shoes, however it is a bit of a pain having to readjust the tongue every 1/2 hour, especially while working.

Wore these in wet, semi-snowy MN winter and in rain - kept my feet completely dry. Like the color and look, too. Super comfy like all my Hoka shoes except ... for the heels. These sit weirdly on my heels and really dig in - so much so that I always wear protective heel tape. If I don't, I end up with an open sore.
