Didn't know how well they would be for rocky and sandy situations but I had no issues at at all. My knees usually hurt during descent but I didn't experience any discomfort. Felt very at ease and enjoyed the view.

As with most Hokas it is necessary to buy 1/2 size larger than you would normally wear. The toe box on this one is narrower which I like. I had sent a different pair back because of the big toe box. They are extremely comfortable and I am very happy with them.

I needed to try 2 sizes...size 9 and 8.5, the 8.5 fit the best for me!! Other brands i would need the size 9. On line retail stores who sell Hoka, mention to size up1/2 don't listen to them, not with this model. They are very comfortable and will be a great winter running on the trail shoe. The bottoms are also soft to purhaps run on asphalt i will give it a try.

The material that holds the tongue in place was so tight it was hard to get my feet into the shoes. Once in, my feet were comfortable enough, though I’d have preferred more cushioning - I could feel the lugs on the bottoms thru the insoles. Despite these issues, I do plan to keep them as they fill a need. They will just never be my favorite or go-to shoes.

I don't need traction on packed powder with these & my socks don't get soaked. Obviously, they aren't completely waterproof when I'm running in deeper snow. Moisture can get into the laces where my gaiters don't seal over them, so wish they had a grommet in front of the laces, like some of my other shoes do, where I can hook my gaiters.

I love Hoka. And love a sale. So, I bought the speedgoats since I had the old ones and loved them so much. They only thing I don't like is they changed the tongue in the shoe and it's not as comfortable. It's not padded and comes up way too high. It was rubbing my ankle so I cut it down some (the material was ok to cut and not mess up). Now they are great. Still the most comfortable shoe I've ever worn.

I like the sole, seems grippy. The toe box is a true medium, I would love it just 1/8" bigger but still they are a good fit. They feel stable. I've worn them in the rain, no problems

These shoes are very lightweight. Due to the waterproof nature, they do take a couple of days to loosen up and get truly comfortable. They are a warm shoe, but definitely waterproof which is a nice alternative on the rainy days to having to wear thick rubber boots.

I enjoy the waterproof quality of the shoe, but it seems to be wide. I had another pair of Hoka's so bought the same size as the ones I wore to pieces. I loved them so thought these would fit similarly. I would recommend for waterproof feature but not for fit.

This shoe is great for trail running/hiking and kept my feet completely dry/warm while running in the rain. My only complaint is that the hard tongue rubs the skin off my ankle if I don't wear tall socks.

I so wanted these shoes to work but the toe box was too narrow. They felt great otherwise - good cushioning, grippy sole. My other Hokas are much more roomy in the toe box than these.

I have purchased HOKAs before and knew I liked them. This time I bought the weatherproof model and it has proven to be just as comfortable. My only concern is that the left shoe's laces are 4-6 inches longer than the right, necessitating double tying it to keep it off the ground.

While I only wear Hokas for running, I found these to not have the same cushioning as the Cliftons (I wear these primarily for walking the dog or doing workout videos, while I prefer the Elevon to run) which have a similar cushioned level type. They felt very stiff and not nearly as soft and springy as I had expected. I still need to find waterproof running sneakers, but these were not it and I had returned. These were also much narrower than any of my other standard width Hokas.

The tongue on the shoe is plastic which feels weird. If you’re not wearing the right socks it could leave blisters. Other than that I find the shoe great for hiking.

I bought these shoes strictly because my coworker swears by the brand. She wears Bondi, so I didn't want to get the same model (pun intended). Nevertheless....I read the reviews before I spend my hard-earned money on the show. Vola! Shoe came promptly and fit was perfect. After wearing to work(btw, I do two jobs, and on my feet 12 hours a day), my ankle got pain. TONGUE kept rubbing and gave me blister. Seriously? I thought of returning immediately but I like the cushion and comfort. I work in A/C so goretex was perfect. Instead of cutting, I used moisturizer which I had handy in my bag. After a week, my shoe was perfect. Tongue no longer a problem. I would have given 5* if not for the tongue. Hope this review helps. because I wore ankle socks.

Hoka sneakers never disappoint. I use these for the gym however, i think they’re best suited as hiking shoes.
