This gortex low hiking boot is just what I wanted. The fit is great- I have a high arch and narrow feet. Cushioned sole but a sturdy feel. I have a pair of Gaviota 2 Hokas and love the shoe for stability and comfort. Not the most stylish shoe in my opinion but I am over that. Hoka does it right.

Great shoes. Wore them on a longer than expected hike that should have been really slippery and wet, but wasn't thanks to my awesome new sneakers! And zero blisters after the hike. Absolutely love them!

The first time I wore them was on a 5 mile small-mountain hike. The trail was wet and slippery. My feet were dry and I did not slip a single time. The shoes are great! And no blisters!

I bought these to wear hiking, and recently wore them hiking roughly 60 miles in 6 days through Sequoia and Yosemite. They were definitely cushion-y, mostly comfortable, and seemed waterproof. I stepped in a puddle and didn’t have wet socks. Overall they did a great job, and although my feet were tired & sore, I think this shoe helped prevent any further soreness. A few things I experienced: the tongue of the shoe does rub your ankle, but I solved this by getting mid-height socks. Also, I experienced some pinching/rubbing around the top of my foot where my toes meet my feet, but it wasn’t anything unbearable.

I've tried many high end shoes having had plantar fasciitis and the painful corrective surgery in the past. My feet are important, my comfort is key. These are not only supportive, but give me just the right amount of comfort along with that great structure needed to keep my feet free of pain. Thank you, Hoka!

Very comfortable to run in, thank goodness I finally decided to bite the bullet to pay more money for running shoes, it made a huge difference, my feet, especially my toes were not hurting.

I am a die-hard Hoka fan but was struggling here in the northeast winter with wet roads & snow. I can't do 5 miles a day in boots! The Gore-Tex SG have changed my life. No more wet feet! Also the different sole actually makes for a better grip on snowy/icy roads. These fit similar to other Hoka styles (I am a 9 but do size up to 9.5 in all styles). I do wear orthotics but the built in support feels solid. Good, wide footbed. I have read the comments about the tongue and I can see it being a problem - the Gore-Tex does make it stiffer & if you try to wear these with a no-show sock you WILL have problems. I have to say, though that if you are wearing these in snow, wet, mud, etc (what they're made for) you would want a higher sock anyway to keep the elements out!

I love these shoes! I have been nursing a sore knee and these shoes provided cushion and yet stability to I could get back out on trails. They also keep my feet dry and warm in the wet winter conditions.
I'd also recommend:

Great shoes, but if you have wide feet (usually buy wide) this is not the shoe for you.

So far a like them. They are comfy and I'm on my feet all day. They also are very grippy on slippery walkways. I've only had them for a short time but So far so good.

Always wear Speedgoats but have gotten caught in the rain one too many times so I decided to take the plunge into these waterproof ones. They're great. No problem with the tongue as I've seen others have had. They're also warmer so good for winter walking. Love!

I've always loved the Speedgoats for summer trail running and races. Living in the mountains, winter running can be tricky, even on the pavement. When I saw the SG's in GORETEX I had to get them. They are perfect for winter trails and roads. Keeping my feet cushioned and dry with just the right amount of tread for slick conditions. Also, I have a NARROW foot. SG's around about the only HOKA's that fit me well. When I read some of the negative reviews about these being "too narrow" and "hurting feet" I knew they'd be perfect for me. So if you have a LOW VOLUME foot, ignore the poor reviews on these!

I got a pair of Hoka 6 and they are the best running shoes I have found r/t starting back running after 30 years, easier on my older knees and increase weight. I bought these as a second pair for wet weather and I like them too.

I used them straight out of the Box and they are comfortable, well made, truly waterproof and perfect for hiking in the snowy mountains. Use them daily! Very worth it ! I put nanospikes on them and feel confident going on trails & icy roads.

I typically wear Hoka Torrents, which I love. I wanted to try these because we've been getting a lot of rain and the gortex option was appealing. I've only put about 6 road miles (I wanted up make sure they wouldn't cause hotspots or any other issues before getting out on the trail) and now about 12 trail miles. I have found them to be comfortable and provide good traction. Highly recommended.

I wear them at work where I stand on my feet, walk up and down stairs, and walk around the sales floor. Feels like you are walking on clouds.

I have ordered numerous waterproof shoes for walking in the rain during our NW by winters. These are the first ones that actually are waterproof. So glad To tried them!! They are very comfortable on top of that.

I've been in 3 different hikes so far for about 30 miles, and absolutely love these. Zero foot fatigue, and I usually struggle with that. I accidentally stepped right in the middle of a stream and had some water come up and over in to the shoe, but after 1/4 mile didn't even notice. At the end my foot was bone dry. I also spent a little time in snow and ice and my feet were warm and dry. I do wish for a future speedgoat with some insulation for the very cold hikes that I know are coming up.
