I purchased these in all four colors. They are a cute look. And the quality is great!! I love them.. But just with the City Grey-colored shorts, the stitching is poor in the front crotch area. I returned them and bought the same style and color hoping that I would get lucky the second time around. But it was the same Camel Toe bad stitching. You can even see this before you even put the shorts on. It is a shame as the City Grey would be such a practical color.

I, too, experienced size inconsistencies. I measured the waist of my usual size 8 and the new pair is near and inch and a half smaller. The thighs and seat also felt smaller. My weight is the same as ever. Generally these are very comfortable because they sit lower on the waist and don't cut you in half. I like the look of the length--just above the knee. Maybe a little elastic in the waist would help the size issue.

I've ordered these before and loved them, the length is perfect for me. However this time I had to order 2 sizes up. I have a pair of some 12 from a year or two ago that fit me, and this time the 12 barely got over my hips. I ended up getting a size 16 and they fit! And my weight is pretty much the same as it's been for 5 years. Otherwise, love them, for travel, hiking ect

Fit is way small on these grey Columbia shorts. I recently bought Columbia Anytime Outdoor shorts in size 12 Nocturnal (blue) and they fit great. I could not even zip the same shorts in grey. What’s up with that?! Returned.

Sizing runs one size too small! I tried more than one design and all designs are cut too little! I normally wear a size 12 in Columbia no problem with an inch to spare for comfort, but when I received the order I could barely get them over my hips and to top it off the pants/shorts hung very low on the waist and when fastened they were too tight to wear. I think they need to let the manufacturer know their sewing patterns are sized wrong.

I ordered my normal size and could barely get them on. I find Columbia hit or miss when their stuff is sized rather than S M or L. Had to return.

Nice long shorts with adequate pockets and drawstring tie at the waist. Not really a fan of the grey color though - I prefer darker colors (excepting black).

I really like the shorts, however i'm little bit disappointed , because they run really small. I usually buy size 10 , but i ordered 12 this time and they are really tight. Otherwise i'm happy with quality like always.

I have 7 pair of these shorts and capris I am still wearing in a size 8. Thankfully I listened to the reviews and ordered a size up. The 10 fits exactly like the old 8.

I really like these. There were a lot of mixed reviews and I almost didn't buy them. So happy I did. I am going to order another pair.

I have bought 4 pair of theses shorts over the past 6 years. They are very comfortable and perfect for my active lifestyle. They are great for boating and hiking. I also wear them for golf. My only negative is the cut has gotten smaller over the years. I compared my size 4 to size 6 and they are now the same.

These are great! Very lightwieght and cool and also slightly stretchy. I got them to use as a board short for swimming (and they do dry wonderfully fast!) but they're so comfy that I've wound up wearing them all the time!

I LOVE these shorts, and own seven pairs. The fit is good, very flattering, and they stretch with every movement. The fabric is soft and super comfortable. My only gripe is the pockets. Stuff falls out of them. I lost my credit card on the gondola. The pockets are small and not deep. My phone barely fits into the rear pocket and it also falls out if I'm not careful. Every time I remove my phone from the back pocket, the inner lining comes out as well, and has to be tucked back in. Columbia could make deeper pockets and add a small zippered pocket for keys or a credit card. check out North Face. I hike light and fast and if it's up the ski mountain, I don't like to take a pack. Otherwise, I'd give these shorts a high five.

I love the longer shorts, they are very comfortable. The two pair I bought a few years ago are my go to for hiking, walking and casual wear. The new ones this year-although called Anytime Long shorts are not the same. They run a full size smaller The new version are made in Indonesia and the older models Vietnam. The new ones don't have the drawstring looping through the back. Haven't worn the new yet but hoping for same comfort level

Great shorts but run a little small. I wear a perfect 10 & these have no wiggle room for a big meal!

I love the snap instead of a button and material. I have thin legs and not much butt so the legs are not tight like the picture shows.

The shorts are a nice length but they run a little large. They get baggy after wearing a short time. Wish I had ordered a 14 rather than a 16.

I would give these shorts five stars but the rise is just too short for me to be completely comfortable in them. I also really don't care for drawstrings so removed them immediately. Otherwise, the quality and the color convinced me to wear them. The pumpkin color goes with tops in a surprisingly wide range of colors.

There were 4 color choices, default was light elk. I clicked on one I liked and went to checkout, where light elk was shown as my color of choice. I tried several times to change the color, to no avail. Then, I thought, "how ugly can it be?" Ugly! I don't know who came up with that color, but if I were an elk, I would object to that color being named after me. So, other than the color being disgusting, the shorts are fine. The description indicated that the shorts run a bit large, they do. I'm happy with that because I'm running a bit large lately myself. Thank you.

The description advised me to order a size down which I did. Unfortunately they are a little too tight. I would consider exchanging but size up would probably be too big. I am hoping they stretch out a little. Also I am on the shorter side at 5' 4" and they are a little too long. They come mid knee instead of just above as pictured. Not the fault if Columbia and they are well made.

I usually wear 6 or 8 in shorts & pants but followed reviews & ordered a 10 which I exchanged for an 8. I'm returning the 8, while this was a perfect fit, comes way below the knee & would need to be hemmed. This short just isn't for me. I'm 5' 2". Would be great for a taller person.
