I went up a size in this jacket based off reviews, and it didn't fit quite right. Sleeves were short, and if I were to wear a heavy sweater underneath I wouldn't have been able to zip up.

Beautiful coat - but too long for my short body (I'm 5'3"). Easy to return.

It took forever to come in the mail I ordered it on Friday and it took until the following Monday, 10 days! It is a good northface jacket though

Bought this coat to replace a North Face one that I've had and liked for 6 years because it was getting worn out and having zipper problems and losing feathers. Tried to buy the exact same coat. But I couldn't find it--this was the closest I could find. While it's a warm coat, I'm disappointed. This one has a detachable hood which snaps off every time I take my bag off my shoulder. And the dip down in the back is too long for me, making it hard for me to wear it while riding my bike.

I live in Canada and I want to use this coat on a daily basis through out winter but am still unsure if it will be warm enough. I've worn it in -7 weather so far and it is warm enough with several layers. I hope it will be warm enough once it gets near the -20 mark. My main reason for the low review is because the feathers have been falling out non stop. I've had this coat for over a month and I keep finding feathers sticking out and my whole car seat is covered. I understand that feathers will come out in a down filled jacket but I have never had it happen to this extent.

Am trying to feel the warmth.

Hello I got this coat 3 days ago... i like the navy color, i loke the fit, I like that is longer in the back. I dont like the velcro cuffs... snagging on my sweater or gloves . There is also a big ammount of feathers coming out from this coat!!! I was supprised about that, and i know some of it is normal, that is way too many for coat that expensive. May need to return it ....

I liked this coat a lot, unfortunately I felt the the back was too long, it went all the way to my knees and getting in the car and out I felt the coat was twisting a lot. I inadvertently bought this coat vs another coat I was looking at at North Face. I had a very hard time trying to figure out if the coat was too big or not. I was also not really digging the shapelessness of the coat, for a casual everyday winter coat I feel like it needed a belt of some sort. Ultimately I decided to go to the store to see about sizing and length and ended up returning this coat and bought the W Gotham PKA II instead as that held more wind proof and was shorter in the legs.

Purchased this to replace another similar style coat I bought 5 years ago which I love, but you can tell it's getting worn out. The style is great, love the removable hood and the velcro closure on the sleeves is great if your a shorter person who's arms are usually too short for regular sized clothing. Unfortunately, I ordered a Medium (fit suggested on Northface.com) and it was just too big. I'm 5'0", 140 and it was a bit loose in the body which I probably could have lived with but the length! Way too long for me. The back went down to almost my mid calf (longer in back) and the front was just at my knees which is too long for me. Getting a small to see if that fits better. It would be great if Northface.com included length measurements in their product descriptions.

I loved the way it looked on and it was really cute but I started noticing so many little feathers in my car and realized it was coming from the coat. The feathers fall out all the time and it just seems like poor craftsmanship. I understand that a few feathers are normal but there are a lot following out. I'm not sure if this happens to every coat of this style but I wouldn't recommend this coat to other customers.

My only problem was the neck line was to short, I was worried on a freezing cold day the neck would be to exposed and will make me cold. Plus I didn't like the Velcro sleeve closing ugh! That's why I returned and ordered the Gotham Parka II today in store.

I've bought NF winter coats before, usually excellent quality and stylish though this coat seems "short" ( description says 38" back length) picture on web makes coat look longer , more generous. I loved the longer, rounded back hem but coat doesn't look as pictured. I'll be sending it back. Looks just like another average black puffy coat. Too expensive to not be eye catching.

I used this parka for the first time and the feathers come out!!!

This coat is beautiful and very stylish but within a week of wearing it feathers started coming out of the seams. I now avoid wearing it because it makes such a mess!

Very disappointed in the water spotting. It's a parka for cold weather so will get rained on. Previously similar coat and no such problem.

Although this coat is stylish, it is very cheaply made. I wish I would've listened to the other reviews about the ridiculous amount of feathers that seep through the coat! You'll have feathers EVERYWHERE. Also, the zipper gets stuck constantly!

I wanted to love this jacket - it seemed like the perfect weight and style for my needs. Immediately, I noticed that the buttons on the hood don't hold. As soon as I put my cross-body bag over my shoulder or simply "catch" it on something, the buttons come undone. The zipper gets stuck easily and the velcro on the wrists are of poor quality. I usually love North Face but they need to work on this design.

I was so disappointed as I ventured away from buying Columbia coats. Feathers immediately started coming out. Every time I put up hood, it comes unsnapped. Hood is small and shallow, and no, I do not have a large head.

I need a replacement but I can't get one because of the regulations. I ordered the coat online for my daughter's 23 birthday and there are holes with the down feathers coming out. The feathers started coming out on day two of wearing the coat.

I normally love The North Face. We have several winter jackets and hats/mittens. This jacket sheds feathers every where and the hood does not stay attached.

Not a good fit. Sleeves short but too big everywhere else. Did not like the style with it being longer in the bag...it was a little too long. I returned this jacket

I was so excited about this jacket as it is cute and comfortable. However, the hood is always falling off because the snaps are not sturdy. I have feathers falling out of the jacket in multiple different places. It is warm, but overall I would not buy again due to the hood and the down coming out after a few wears.

Coat was purchased to be my work coat. I walk quite a ways in the parking lot to get to the building. It's a cold walk in Michigan!! The snaps on the hood are not high quality and now my hood is gone which makes the coat not as warm

Hood will not stay on, comes off easily by barely touching. Jacket sheds down feathers everywhere. Not made nearly as well as the prior one had I had purchased.

I have had a Metropolis Parka for over 10 years with ZERO problems! Received a new one for Christmas and the quality is completely different. Hood snaps off ALL the time, feathers are poking through within a few days of wear & the new style does not have snaps down the front of the parka. Extremely disappointed in the quality of the new parka. After reading quite a few of the reviews it seems the issues I am seeing is an overall issue!
