Feathers coming out and pinching. The hood has a very bad design and does not stay in place.

This is a pretty coat, and it's lightweight and warm. However, I rarely wear it because of the number of feathers that are shed. Had I known, I would not have purchased.

There must be some defect in craftmanship for this particular coat. no way these snaps should be coming undone every time she puts the hood on.

I love almost everything about this jacket, but oh my goodness the hood is so frustrating. You might ask, why so much anger on hood? Well, I can't even hang the coat up because the hood will snap off. When I go to put the hood over my head on a chilly day, it will literally just snaps off. It's useless.
Otherwise, this is a fashionable and great coat.

I like that this jacket is warm, however, the hood falls off so easily, and I feel like the feathers shed EVERYWHERE.

Warm and practical. Lots of coverage below the waist, so great for cold, windy weather. But not flattering in the waistline. Runs a little large. Wish it tapered in more.

I love the comfort and warmth. I just don't like how the hood constantly comes unsnapped. Cheap plastic snaps for such an expensive coat.

This coat is very warm, but I've had it 3 months and the feathers are already coming out. The top fabric is very thin. Also, the hood doesn't stay snapped on, so I can't even use it as it comes off as the day progresses.

Love the length of the coat. Cons are that it is not made as well as previous north face coats. The feathers pop through. The Velcro around the wrist feels cheap. The snaps for the good pop off when ever I try to pull the hood over my head. Sometimes I have a hard time with the zipper.

Loved my first Metropolis coat but it was lost! Replacement was gifted to me, coat is fine but SO frustrating that cheap plastic snaps let hood come off all the time

There's a lot to love about this coat. Yes, it sheds some feathers, more than other down coats I've had but it's really not complain-worthy. What's annoying is the incredibly weak hood snaps! They feel poor quality for such an expensive and otherwise high quality coat. I brushed it off as a silly complaint initially but now being half way through winter, I'm ready to buy a new coat. Every time I pull the hood up it unsnaps at least two snaps leaving me fumbling to reattach it. If I use my crossbody purse, it unsnaps the hood every time I try to remove my purse; I've just stopped using the strap when I wear this coat because it's so annoying. They're shallow, plastic snaps and should be heavier duty metal.

I do like this jacket as it is super warm. I wanted this jacket again as I also have the older version, but this one doesn't quite hit the knees, which I'd prefer.

Would've been a better jacket if the snaps on hood was made of better quality...easily unsnap

I'm 5'2" and the pockets seem a bit high. They're also on the more shallow side. The hood constantly unbottons and it's hard to hang this coat because of these buttons. I don't understand why they didn't use a zipper. The hood does however fit unlike other puffers I've had where it covers my face. I treated myself to this as I am very cold intolerant and got the discount for being a nurse, so I am glad I didn't pay full retail and discourage anyone from doing so.

I Love this Jacket !! I wish the sleeves slightly longer. The hood is my favorite thing but doesn't stay on . The snaps don't stay connected

The coat is warm and yet lightweight, which is great. The length is long which keeps me covered in these cold Chicago winters. The feathers do stick out here and there, which is a bit of a negative as it makes me concerned for the coat's longevity. Zipper is fine but not the most sturdy. The biggest con, however, is the hood - the snaps are weak as heck, and the hood barely stays on. It comes apart at the slightest movement, even shouldering my purse makes it come apart. I'm considering super gluing the snaps to keep the hood in place. Overall this is a great coat and no regrets - I got it as part of North Face's sale for health care providers during COVID, thank you! But once the coat has outlived its wear I wouldn't buy it again.

Looks nice on, I like how long it is. But it's not as warm as I would expect it to be. One thing I hate is that the hood comes off so easily it's very annoying.

I really like the coat, and it is really warm. But, the coat sheds feathers every time I wear it. Feathers are always poking out and on my clothes when I take off the coat. The snaps on the hood are poorly made. The unsnap very easily; I took the hood off for this reason.

This was purchased to replace a dearly loved 20 yr old very similar jacket that had become not-so-wind and not-so-waterproof anymore. Unfortunately, not having snaps down the front has rendered it useless...it lives in the closet while I continue to use the old one. Who takes the time to fully zip into a full-length parka (like getting into a sleeping bag) before going out? Not me. I wish I had noticed this omission before purchasing the coat. It's not meant for living in the mountains. It's possibly meant for people who live in windy cities

The snaps holding the hood are very poor quality. You can't lift up the coat by the hood, it falls off. Comes off constantly, I'm afraid I'm going to lose it.
