Nice and warm. Love that its longer in the back.

I bought these coats for my college aged girls. They are a must have for cold days on campus.

Great coat, but the feathers in the beginning were coming out and against the black jacket it look like dust on the coat.

What I expected, warm and cute. Plastic zippers, not the greatest.

I am 5’7” 117lbs. I usually wear an XS in north face however the sleeves are always too short and occasionally the fit in the shoulders is a little restrictive. Since I want this as my warm winter parka, I decided to order a size SMALL, It’s quite big in the shoulders, around the torso and down, the sleeves are just barely long enough. I feel there’s a huge difference in size btw the XS and S. I am however going to keep it as I don’t mind the extra room and I need that bit of extra length in the arms. I’m not having any issues with the hood popping off, I feel the coat is like a mid-grade quality overall. Warmth factor is decent..

Very warm and cozy. The shiny hood and sleeves look very good in person. The hood snaps off. This is convenient, but it comes off rather easily and I am slightly concerned it will become a problem.

I simply loved my North Face 800 down parka that I bought 8 to 10 years ago. The zipper finally failed the other day when the temperature outside was 6 F above. The 800 model was no longer available but I purchased the Metropolis that looked comparable. I like the length, the sleeve length and how the hood fits but I am 5'2". Unfortunately, it is too tight around the torso and waist even with a cotton sweater that is slightly bulky. This is pretty inconvenient for winter in Illinois where it can get well below zero and bulky sweaters are a must. I am sorry to see North Face cut corners on one of their products. The 800 model was perfection every way and still fits except for the zipper that finally failed. It was a treat to wear. The Metropolis just isn't up to the same standards.

I have been owning 4 northface coat...always a northface fan...i like this metropolis due to the fact, it's soft and only 790g, like put a blanket on to me...i can get L size on me, other brands, i needs to get XL...that's one big factor i decided to keep this one...i go tried out in braintree northface store ....one minor minus, the hood...when i wear crossbody bag and tries to take off me, the hood snap buttons will go off...so i opened up my sewing kit...sewed on one metal snap button and 10 stitches...so hood stays in place...ever since this sewing, i did not have any problem with this nice coat...

This coat is super warm and light-weight. When I first got it, it felt so light that I didn't think it'd be warm enough but it's been working great so far! There are just a few things that could be improved. It does not have an inner lining, the bottom of the sleeves have velcro to make the wrist tighter (instead of having an inner sleeve) and the hood is removed by buttons instead of a zipper (which can be annoying to have to keep snapping back together). With the price of the coat, I was thinking it would have had a few nicer features. I am still happy with my purchase and I know it'll keep me warm regardless of the few missing things.

Love the coat BUT the hood is awful, I barely touch it and it comes undone completely. For the price I really shouldn't have to worry about the hood falling off when I'm trying to use it, or if there's a light breeze. If I would have paid full price I would have returned it.

I've been eyeballing this type of parka for years and I finally bit the bullet and purchased one. I live on the coast in CA and it can get very chilly so this will be perfect for cold evenings! Granted, I don't live where it snows so I can't speak to how this parka delivers in freezing temps but I'll be super comfy when it gets "CA cold". Sizing info: For reference, I'm 5'10 170lbs with broad shoulders. I'm typically a size 8/29/36DD, occasionally a size 10/30 if something runs small. I ordered both a medium and large to compare sizes. I ultimately ended up keeping the large which I'd say is a little big on me but I wanted to be able to layer underneath with a sweatshirt etc and not be too snug. The medium fit juuuuuust right when I tried on the parka with just a tank on underneath but with layers, it was just a bit too tight across the chest/shoulder area. OH. And the sleeves are strangely very short. I'm obviously tall but man, the medium's sleeves were super short on me. The large is looser but I needed the extra sleeve length and ability to layer up without feeling stuffed.

I just received this jacket (gray color) in large size. I'm in between a medium and large (inverted pyramid body shape) size right now (6 months postpartum). There is room for layering and it fits perfectly in the bust area, however there is quite some room in the stomach and hip area. Again, I'd rather go up in size versus down and then it's too snug and I can't layer for this upcoming winter. Even with my 5'5 frame, this jacket isn't too long and I love that it covers my hips. It's also very fluffy, but not huge 90's puffy jacket if that makes sense.

I love this coat but it's not as thick as I thought it would be. The pockets have zippers so they're not as comfortable to keep your hands in. There is also only one small breast pocket on the inside.

Love the jacket! I use it for outdoor recess at school. As an aide I am out supervising the kids and need to be warm.

This coat is so incredibly warm! It looks good, too. The only issue I have is the sizing difference. I initially ordered a XXL but it was way too big so I exchanged for an XL. The XXL has about three inches too much fabric but the XL doesn't seem to have just enough. You'd think it would be a tad bit bigger.

Great jacket, light weight, doesnt restrict driving. Great for fall usage, or an above average winter.

I wear this coat everyday it is below 40 F, to walk my dog on the beach at dawn, as well as to work. I have the black one & it looks stylish; an unbroken line. I don't appreciate that some white feathers are already poking through. It wouldn't be as noticeable on a lighter color. I love that the hood is detachable. Altogether I am very happy to spend the cold winter with this coat.

Love this coat for very cold days. It's not super breathable, so it doesn't wear well in moderate weather. The only fit issue I have is the wrist cinches on the sleeves. They are narrow and the Velcro isn't long enough for smaller wrists.

I ordered this coat and also tried the Arctic Parka and Defdown Parka. I ultimately chose this because the defdown was too warm for my needs and the Arctic parka was too still in the collar and it made it unwearable. This jacket is really pretty in urban navy but I felt compared to the other jackets I tried it was completely lacking in some high-end finishes. I wish this jacket had an inner cuff sleeve like the Arctic parka rather than a cheap Velcro strip to tighten the sleeve opening. Also the snaps holding the hood on release very easily and if I hang my jacket by the hood it becomes detached and falls on the floor leaving the hood on the hook. So annoying! I have been wearing it less than a week and feathers are everywhere, the fabric should be a tighter weave. This coat is cute but there is a lot of room for improvement and for the price should have more features like others in this price point, like the Arctic Parka.
