I have only been able to try the shoe on. I was injured before the shoe arrived. I look forward to train and racing in this shoe.

Shoes fit great and make you want to run fast. Great technology but comes at a price, both in the price tag and tend to wear out around the 300 mile mark. Still worth it!

These are the best and worst running shoes I've ever owned. If you're looking for extra speed (PR), then these are the shoes. If you're looking to run a marathon with the most comfortable shoe on the market, these are the shoes. If you're looking for a shoe that will last over 150 miles, you might want to buy another shoe. I'm on my second pair and I've worn the soles out on both at around 150 to 175 miles. But, I did buy my second pair because I was addicted to the cushion.

The product is great, lightweight, feels good running in, and I feel faster running with. My only complaints would be with the laces and the heel loop. The laces tend to slip, so I have to constantly tie double knots just to keep them laced. The heel loop broke relatively quickly as it is not bound securely bound to the shoe other than a single stitch per side.

So far I have put in around 60 miles with the Carbon X shoes. I have Bondi 5, Arhiai 2, Naphi, Clifton 5 and the Carbon X are totally different then those other shoes. If you are looking for a shoe to take you to another level these are it! I had to order them from Fleet feet because the white Carbon X are out of stock everywhere! I would of gave them a 5 but there shoe laces are very cheap...I work in the boxing industry and deal with shoe laces for boxing gloves and These laces feel like the cheapest ones around and they loose on there own a lot. I have to double knot them. The ankle support isn't too great so if you run on a ugly road try to stay on the smooth part. Going froward I think all I am going to run in is Carbon X shoes!

I'm about 25-35 mile/week 50-55YO runner that's still trying for PR's everytime I race (perhaps not hard to do since I didn't start racing until 50 YO). I also like to rotate from brands-to-brands / shoes-to-shoes because I subscribe to the theory that rotating will deter bad habits and injuries. Been considering and trying on HOKA's for a year or more, but when the Carbon X ads streamed into my FB over the past few weeks, it REALLY sparked my interest (even though I'm generally not an avid ads reader). Called around and even went to RoadRunner, and were disappointed that size 8's were out of stock not just in that store but their entire Online store! The RR sales lad was kind to suggest that I try to buy from HOKA Online directly. Indeed, HOKA Online had all 3 colors and sizes. The special edition orange/red appealed because I figured if the Carbon X was going to be faster than my other shoes, may as well look brighter too (I'm usually a grey shoe person). On my first three 5-mile noon runs, I did feel perhaps 10-15% increase in forward propulsion as well as a bit more bounce or cushion than my approximately 6-8 other pairs of rotating running shoes of Brooks, Nike, New Balance, Asics, Altra, and Saucony. As before mentioned, I am weary of being over dependent on any pairs of shoes, thus, after about 4-5 runs with my new Carbon X, I have rotated in my other shoes. Strangely, I been running the last week and half feeling quite strong, faster, and in some ways, with more natural forward propulsion feel, regardless of the shoes of the day. During the next few weeks, I would consider Phase II of my trial and assessment of my Carbon X, when I'll be rotating back to them after that initial phase. I don't have doubt that I will still be in love and intrigued by them. My next Marathon is in 9 months, with half dozen or so 1/2 marathons, 10K's and a 30K in between. I'm in anticipation which pair will earn the call to serve my feet for the July marathon!

This shoe will have different feel at first, especially when walking. But once you start running a pick up the pace you'll like the way it feels. Great toe off, especially when running an uptempo run. Not the most stable on grass or uneven surfaces, best to keep on the road.

I used to wear the Clifton 6 in 12, I bought the Carbon X in 12.5 for race day expecting that a bigger size fits me better, however it doesn't fit different. Actually i feel the Carbon X kind on tied

I purchased these new shoes prior to a half marathon, put in about 20 training miles on them and felt they were good to go for the half. They performed as advertised, although I am used to the "pillow" like feel with the Bondi style. They were very light, and the carbon sole performed admirably.
I'm partial to the original Bondi -B and purchased a new pair when Hoka made them available again.

I love this shoes! They feel a bit heavier than i though, but still very nice shoes. Is a perfect training shoe, for like fast long distance runs or intervals or a marathon in a triathlon where your legs are tire and you need a shoe that helps you. I would not use them for a 70.3 or a marathon by itself (not in a triathlon), the NEXT % are way faster for that.

Being a mid-foot striker the rocker on this shoe just seems to throw me into the next stride. (this is a compliment not a complaint) It feels like running downhill while on level ground.
I only noticed an effect of the plate while running uphill where I could sense, more than feel, the plate keeping me pushing off the big toe more than I usually do. In all other instances it really seemed like it was a solid combination of the rocker, plate, and foam working together to keep my stride on form and working for me.
Only a couple of runs in but so far I love this shoe and it will most likely be my choice for the 50k at the Marine Corps Marathon.

I have five different models of the brand, but the impossibility of acquiring here the newest models in Brazil is unfortunate.

My plan is to use the Carbon X as my go to distance shoe (full and half) because it's still got plenty of cushion and the carbon fiber plate should help with energy return allowing me to conserve some throughout the course of the race.

Somewhere between the stiffness of the CAVU 2 and Carbon X is nirvana. The impact cushion of the Carbon X is superior. Yet the responsiveness is a well-balanced contradiction of material properties, which is the Holy Grail of Engineering.
The above-the-sole material is lightweight, very comfy. Fair warning: there is a trade-off you should carefully assess. The fit can be slightly sloppy-stretchy if your foot doesn't precisely nail the Carbon X's whole and half sizing.
Net-net: It's a plush ride for the impact our bodies endure while running.

Tried them on and loved them, but they run a little small. I have to exchange me 13's for 14's.

This shoe feels like it was built for much faster runners. I am just a jogger, usually 9:30 ish, when listening to books, 9:45min/mile. But because of the new tech, I wanted to try it out. I think this shoe wants me to go faster. It feels like it wants to propel me forward, but because I am a casual jogger and can't be bothered with going faster, I end up going at the same speed as my previous shoes, the Cliftons and Claytons. I think you need to go up 1/2 a size if you are EE (wide).
Still very good shoes, but after this, I think I will go to use something with more marshmellowy. It's just me.
It's pretty good and inline with the Cliftons and Claytons -- I consider it a new version of those with lowered weight and the carbon piece at the bottom.
