Use this shoe for indoor and outdoor walking and running. Hoka missed by a million miles with this shoe. It's my 3rd pair (first carbon) and i am surprised at how uncomfortable they are.

Shoes are VERY narrow. The carbon plate came cracked already so it kind of pinches the bottom of my foot and the support of the shoe isn't great overall.

First of all I love Hoka's and have 7 different pair. I am a large marathon runner with 20 races including 18 halves and 2 fulls. The Evalon 2 is the best so far. The Carbonx was a long shot and I so wanted them to work. They gave me a consistent hot spot and blister under the right foot and directly in front of the heel. I had to exchange them and will try the new Bondi 7.

Had to return twice. Not true to size and too difficult to put on. Will try another style

The are stiff and unresponsive. Feels like they are sucking energy out instead of giving a good bounce. Nike next % are much better.

Not for me...took for several short runs (3-5 miles) for break in, then took for 10 mile run. Not wide enough for me...the upper material is also not very flexible. The synthetic cloth did not allow for my feet to spread. Restricted my feet and caused blisters on the inside of my feet. Mile 8-10 was the worst run experience I've ever had, I had to try keep shifting my feet to be comfortable which caused inflammation and tendinitis to flare up. Overall okay for short runs for wider feet, DO NOT BUY for longer runs.

I purchased this shoe on the advice of an orthopedic surgeon. The claim is that the stiff sole would prevent toe flexion in my big toe, which has arthritis. My toe actually hurts more in this shoe than others.

I kept pulling my calf muscles running in these. I had to go back to my cliftons and the issue has gone away.

I've been using the shoe on my road runs. I usually do about 30 miles per week. I have two issues with the shoe. It wore very quickly compared to other shoes in the same category. The shoe is too suprinated It doesn't allow for any pronation

I've ran the same road course for the past 10 years. My shoes typically last 18 months. On my most recent shoe repalcement, I decided to switch to Hoka and the Carbon X. After 5 months, they are falling apart. The soles on both shoes have completely worn through in multiple spots. The side wall on one shoe has split from the base. Unacceptable for a shoe that cost nearly $200.

I know the Carbon X is universally loved but for me it was far and away the most uncomfortable running shoe I've ever owned. I tried to run in them twice & was almost immediately in pain both times. I love Hoka & will continue to only wear them, just not this model.

I only wear Hoka's and was stoked to try this shoe. They fit perfect, the ride was smooth and cushioned as expected, but the firmness of the carbon plate and response was amazing. Not even close, these were not only the best Hoka's I've worn, they are probably the best running shoe I've ever worn. So why one star? After one week and 40 miles of running, the out sole on my forefoot on each shoe split. The rubber broke down quickly and wore right to the foam. After the foam was exposed, the sole split and you could see the carbon plate. 20 miles were on pavement and 20 miles on dirt. It must have been the dirt and uneven surface (not trails, hard packed dirt roads with some occasional lose gravel). They tore up bad. I was so disappointed because I loved the shoe! So if take these shoes anywhere near dirt, turn around and don't even think about it, or you'll be heading back to the retailer for a pair of Cliftons. I will continue to wear Hoka's, but will wait for them to come out with a carbon plate shoe that actually has a tread and some durability... so Hoka, how about a carbon plate Clifton??

It's descibed as light and soft but that seems like extremely false advertisement.
