Ordered these the day they came out and wore them three days later at Ironman 70.3 Chattanooga and they were awesome.

I use the Carbon X for training and competetion. I'm 59 years, but still faster than before. I need shoes that are kind to my feets, and CArbon X is good in that sense. I will buy another pair, a size bigger. When running down hill they are a little small. I use the with an extra sole, cusom built. Best running shoes ever. Gives a perfect balance.

Just ordered my second pair. Really like these shoes. I used them in an Olympic distance Tri this weekend and ran my fastest ever 10k split. They just feel good and even when the legs are usually a bit lethargic right off the bike I felt like I had good spring in my step. Got a second pair to use for training and the first pair will be dedicated race shoes.

Just picked them up the other night. After two runs I can say the Carbon X is the most comfortable road shoe I have experienced. Thank you HOKA for making the toe box wider Not only is the Carbon X comfortable but it performs even better than I was anticipating. I have run in many different Hoka's but the Carbon X is my new go to shoe.

I have owned probably 30 pairs of Hoka shoes. My go to shoe was the Hupana for marathons now my new shoe for everything is the Carbon X. Felt great out of the box. First run out of the box, was 8 miles did some tempo work and some steep hills. I love this shoe. Thanks Hoka for finally making a great shoe again. I will need to stock up on these bad boy's hopefully they won't discontinue it anytime soon.

Just finished first run in these. 7 miles at medium effort. The faster you go the better these respond. With that said you can maintain normal effort in these and improve times, or run target speed with decreased effort. Either way you're improving economy. Great shoes for mid or forefoot strikers. Fit great right out of the box.

I prefer these over Vaporfly because they are not so narrow on the outsole and feel more stable in case you over pronate. Great Shoe!!! And believe me I have a closet full!!!

Have run in many shoes over the years and at 65 I felt fluid and comfortable out of the box for a half marathon very smooth. Awesome job and finally a toe box with room!

Carbon X is awesome right out of the box. Size 11.5 weigh 9.5 oz and I'm ok with that. I'm a heavier runner and I appreciate the amount of quality cushion I get in my marathon training/racing rotation of Clifton 1, Clifton 3 an Napali shoes. So, the Carbon X weight is not a deal breaker.
The meta rocker feels aggressive to me and I like that. I'm a mid-foot striker until I fatigue I then I start to heel strike more. I don't know if it was the carbon plate encouraging more toe off, the aggressive forward propulsion of the meta rocker, the fresh foam or combination of all of the above, plus the excitement of running in a promising new shoe, but I simply couldn't stay at my goal easy pace of 9:45 min/mile. I'm 2 months post marathon and have not been running with any consistency, so I was surprised when I put consistent 8:50's over 6 miles at noon in 85F temps.
I've had forefoot width issues with other Hoka models, but no issues with the Carbon X. Upper fits well and I had room to wiggle my toes. Tongue felt awesome with no shoelace "bite" on the top of my arch when I lock it down...however I had my left shoelace come untied twice. Once with a single knot....then again with a double knot. Carbon X has the thin laces and I've never had that happen to me.
No hot spots after my 6 mile run in the Carbon X. I've had hot spots with other Hoka models that I had to work through and simply accepted as part of the breaking in process, but no issues after my initial run.
No heel slipping. Felt secure but I did need to use the heel pull tab to get the shoe on. Enough padding for me around the ankle but it is not as plush compared to the Napali or Clifton.
I wanted that other famous carbon plate shoe to work for me. And it does...for a handful of miles then the lack of stability causes major problems in my right ankle/lower calf. I simply need more physical material in the mid-foot section of the shoe and the Carbon X provides that. It is a winner for me.

Just got done taking the Carbon X on a 5 mile run, they every bit as comfortable and light as advertised.
What impressed me right out of the box was how light they are, when I put them on the fit was just right, the feel was very confirming and snug.
I'm sold and I can't wait to put more miles on my new kicks!!!

Incredible shoe! Cushioned and responsive. The carbon plate is not to stiff and the ride is incredible! There is no more to be said than GO AND BUY SOME!

Great out of the box, feels true to size. Light and responsive for a cushioned shoe. Zero toe box issues and shoe breathes well. I am a Bondi fan however I really enjoy these after a couple mid-distance runs of 12 and 16 miles.
Curious to see how they handle some gravel and trail conditions or if they are a street shoe only.

I like how light it is. My only improvement I would suggest is that is doesn't feel as supportive for my feet as the last pair that I had

The shoe last is super comfortable and keeps my foot in position. The cousin is great and the return propels you forward. On issues is the shoe only lasts about 200-250 miles.

I found this shoe lacking support in preventing planter facitis following long runs, but otherwise I liked this shoe.

Enjoy these on long runs. Like the colors. Took a money to get use to because much different feel than Bondi 7s I run on. The upper seems durable and I like how light weight it is..only issue is the heel can be too hard to pull on and I'm afraid of wearing out tab.

Had to buy a couple pairs of the Carbon X (which are my favorite shoes ever), because I tried the new X2s and I got skin breakdown over my anterior tibial tendon because Hoka redesigned and over-engineeried the tongue and made it stiffer and bulkier.

I had surgery on my FHL, so I can't be in a shoe that flexes much at all right now. The CarbonX actually substituted for my post-surgery "boot". I will use it for training runs until I am fully healed and then continue to use a CarbonX for long intervals and tempos. In general, it's a good shoe, but many other plated shoes are faster, so I will not race in this shoe. As with most Hokas, I little more toe box room would be nice.
