This is a great shoe. We all wish it would last longer, but that's not going to happen with a shoe this light, and this cushioned. It's the tradeoff you take for the benefit you get from this shoe. If you are someone who does very high mileage, and you need something softer on your threshold runs, or your tempo runs, this shoe will save you so much trouble. You can go very fast in this shoe, and still have a substantial amount of cushioning, which is something I don't think is done by any traditional training shoe other than this one. I even used this for 1000m or 1200m repeats on the track and it works really well. It's so quick that you don't really need a racing flat to get the turnover you need. I have about 70 miles in the shoe, and it's worn quite a bit. I anticipate that I'll get about 200 miles out of the shoe, but it's 200 miles well spent.

HOKA's have become my go to running shoes!! Extremely pleased with the feel and comfort. I have flat feet so running in HOKA's are a game changer.

Love this shoe, as a 6ft, 205-215lbs man I feel great on my 5-6 mile runs with this shoe. Will buy again but after only my first run the rubber was already wearing super quick. Like the shavings on the top of a pencil after using the eraser.
I dont mind it, I do run hard and the price and overall quality of this shoe are great so far. I've gone on 5 runs with them (20 miles total) and have been impressed.
I run on flat paved surfaces.

Rincon is a great 'balanced' Hoka. I can feel a big difference between these and my Cavu 2 which are designated 'responsive'. I like them both but Rincon definitely takes some pressure off my knees.

I really look forward to road days when I'm able to throw these shoes on. They are a delight to wear and are responsive but "spongy" and very fast. That upper is amazingly light and comfortable.

I used this for my first trail 100. It was a fairly flat and dirt but not a technical course. The lightness of the shoe really really made a difference. When you are taking 170,000 steps then one or two oz weight saving really add up. When you add in the comfort and cushioning then you have a happy day (or as happy as it can get at mile 80!).

I love this shoe. Better cushioned and lighter than Brooks. I train and race in the Hoka Rincon. Fifty miles per week on average. Cross country and 5k.So far my favorite running shoe.

I had been thinking of making the switch to HOKA for a while and had planned on purchasing the Clifton 6 after trying them on at a local running store. When I navigated to this site last month, however, I spotted an alert introducing the new Rincon shoe. Marketed as a lighter version of the Clifton 6 (with a lower price tag) I purchased them almost immediately. I put about 50 miles on them in preparation for a marathon and ended up shaving 15 minutes off my PR time.
Of course, the shoe isn't the only reason for the improved PR, but I love the combined cushion and responsiveness of the Rincons. Not to mention how affordable they are. Considering I put 500 miles on my running shoes every 5-6 months, it's nice that they won't be breaking the bank.
So far, the Rincons are holding up really well. Although the uppers and soles use less material than other shoes or even other HOKAs, I haven't noticed any unreasonable wear. It seems like these will hold up to another few hundred road miles.

I have run cross country for my high school for three years now in Altra running shoes. My feet are wider, but I have a narrow heel, causing my toes to be pressed together. I wanted to start transitioning back into traditional running shoes (Altra has a wide toe box) so when I had the opportunity to try running in the Hoka RIncons I took it. My first impressions were of how light the shoes were. The springy ride of the shoe while running gave it a fast but cushioned feel. These trainers could be used for anything from long days to fast workouts. I currently am running 60 mile weeks in the trainers with 13 mile long days and the shoes have held up perfectly.

I walk my dog and this shoe really helps my back. I'm 71, have had two hip replacements and this product was recommended by my physical therapist and he was right .

Got my rincons a couple days ago and I was concerned about the shoes at first as i had a weird irritation on my right foot where the hoka overlay was. I decided to give them a try and holy moly they are awesome I ran 10 miles right out of the box and they performed great and no irritation issues or pain on right foot at all.

I've been in the NB Beacon for a year and really liked it. The Rincon is as light and cushioned but much more stable and has a quicker turnover. Favorite all-around road trainer to date.

I've been running in Clifton's and was intrigued by the Rincon. As long as Hoka doesn't screw with it, as they like to do, too much? This is a long term winner. Lightweight, fast, great feel. Love it.

It's a very light weight runner that gives plenty of cushion. I use it on training and race days.

I work in a fast paced ambulatory surgery center with concrete floors. At the end of the day (12 hours) my feet do not hurt. Any other shoe I have used has resulted in sore feet and just plain fatigue.

As a loyal Clifton user who appreciated the various generations, the Rincon is now my preferred shoe. Similar cushion to the Clifton (maybe a little softer), but with a more natural take off / toe off. Feels like it allows more foot motion than the Clifton. INCREDIBLY Light and Breathable. As some have noted, the fabric wrinkles once laced up but once you're moving I don't think you will (or should) notice. Wish the tongue was 5-10mm longer. I use the upper-most lace holes and the tongue tends to creep under the knot.

Very comfortable out of the box, light weight with really good cushioned feel. Too me, feels like an improved Clifton 1.

The Rincon is a nice ride, and it is quite a looker. It is not quite like the Mach 2, but it is plenty light, and fast. A great shoe for the road.

these shoes are superb. breathable upper that still feels secure, cushioning is perfectly balanced between responsive & plush. only issue might be that the amount of durable rubber on the outsole is a bit too minimal; seems like the outsoles will wear quickly, but as of yet i cant definitively say so since i bought them only a week ago. overall excellent shoe, honestly dont think hoka needs to update much for the rincon 2.
