I ended up using these shoes for my recovery days. This was my first time wearing a Clifton shoe and I was excited about it when I get them. Its important to note that I also wear custom carbon fiber orthotics in my shoes, so that makes a difference. After an "okay" experience with these I bought the original Cliftons and couldn't believe the differences. See my review on those shoes for comparison. For the Clifton 6 see below.
Pro's:
-Soft cushion if you love the extra soft/squishy feel
-Light upper
-Light shoe
-Cons:
-I get zero response from them. Its the is the main reason why I wear them on recovery days.
-These things are LOUD with my orthotics. Every step I take sounds like they're wet and squishy. By far the worst shoe I've worn with my orthodics .
-The upper is light and comfortable, but my feet slide around in the shoe and my big toes feel it afterwards. I'm in the right size too because a half-size down was too small and half-size up was too big. Essentially, my feet feel somewhat unstable in them.
-The rubber on the bottom smeared like butter after 50 miles.

Good shoes. I’ve worn the original Cliftons in the past and these are comparable. I can’t speak to their running performance but I have mid-foot arthritis and these shoes help to alleviate the pain when I have to walk More than short distances.

I bought the Clifton 5 and they felt great in width and was best feeling shoe I ever had. When you changed to the Clifton 6 the width changed and feel's to wide for my foot. I wished I could get the 6 in same width as the 5. I found a pair of the 5's and ordered them last night. Will probably be the last 5 I will be able to find. I have 2 pair of the 5 and 2 pair of the 6. In the 6 I have to put support's in them to make them fit. I sure wished you didn't change the width! My Dr. recommended this for the support for the R/A I have in my feet.

Very comfortable. All around training shoe. Only complaint is that when I do longer miles, my right and left little toe feels irritated some. Not sure if it's the way I tie them? I'm big Clifton fan. I've had the 5 , the 1 but I'd really like the 6. Running a half marathon in 2 weeks.

My husband is very happy with these sneakers. We purchased 2 pairs. He uses them for everyday wear and for training for/racing in triathlons.

Plush Cushioned Ride takes some getting used to but once there these shoes are terrific.

Good all around shoe. Not the most stable because of the thickness of the sole, but that's true of many of the Hoka shoes.

I run roughly 20 miles/week. There is noticeably more friction/pressure areas inside the Clifton 6 as compared to the Clifton 5.

I like the new all black Clifton 6's but Im sad to say if feels like they changed the soft high arch to a firmer medium arch insole. I owned 3 pairs of the Clifton 5's and I'm not sure if I will buy anymore of the Clifton 6 as I need a soft high arch insole since Im on my feet for 8 to 12hr s or more in healthcare.

These shoes are amazing!! The length of the shoe is just right. I do add my Catbon Superfeet insoles for a little added support since I have knock knees. I love that these shoes feel light, a lot more flexible and keep my feet and toes happy. The previous two version felt stiff and heavy. Hoka did an excellent job listening to the customers by bring back the style we all know and love. Thank you, Hoka!! If there was one improvement it would be to length the laces just a tad. Not much. Just a couple of inch (maybe 2 inches) so that if you use the 2nd eye holes the laces are super short. Otherwise the shoes feel great! I can hardly wait to see how many miles I can put on these shoes. It's going to be great!!

Smooth and comfortable for easy cruising or on recovery days. Not a speed day shoe for me (I have the Cavu 2 for that) but it's fine for tempos. Cushioning is "softly bouncy", not squishy, but I had to replace the ortholite insole with a cheap EVA sockliner from a worn out pair of shoes. The ortholite insole with the cushiony Clifton 6 was too soft and it hurt my feet (like running on sand). With the new insole, the shoe is fantastic. Put the sockliner from the Rincon in the Clifton and it would be perfect for a daily trainer.

I purchased these shoes because I have been dealing with knee pain while running lately. I have skateboarded and snowboarded for many years so my knees have taken an absolute pounding and finally it caught up with me. Unfortunately I had to cut back on my long distance runs because I just couldn't get any further than a 5k without my knee giving out. Alas after much searching I have finally found a shoe that has solved my knee problem. The max cushioning has helped so much and I've been able to get back to my long distance runs once more with zero pain. Thanks Hoka! With that being said my one complaint with the shoe is the insoles. I had to switch to a more mellow insole because the original ones would give me terrible blisters on the sides of arches after a mile into my run. After much research and asking fellow runners who use them I came to the conclusion that I'm not the only person with this problem. Hopefully they will do something about this in the future models. Thankfully it is an easy fix, just go buy yourself some insoles. Also the shoes tend to run just slightly larger than I expected. I had to send the first pair back and get a half size smaller. Thankfully hoka was great about the whole process! These shoes are totally worth every penny, pick yourself a pair up today...your joints will thank you!

I need the early rocker feature and I feel the 6 is less stiff and loses the rocker action over a shorter period of time. It seems that the shoe is lighter and a little bit less plush than earlier versions...please don't keep going in that direction! Love the colors. Much better looking. But please don't minimize rocker durability for lightness!

I've done about 25 miles so far. These are a switch from my historical/regular use of Reebok running shoes (unable to get my size any longer in new releases forced a change). The fit is good and I haven't experienced any discomfort. The Clifton has plush cushioning but is soft. I'm also going to try the Ahari to compare.

I love my Hoka's, but I chose the wrong style. I will keep this pair for long standing work days and get a different style for normal kickin around.

I'm still not quite sure you discontinued your most comfortable, best shoe ever, the Clifton 3. I've tried the Bondy 5 and the Clifton 6 which are quality shoes, but they do not live up to the comfort of the Clifton 3.

Very comfy shoe. Clifton's are definitely my favorite Hoka. Currently have the Clifton 4 and 5. Sizing is perfect for me. I have wide feet and wear a 9.5. However, the 6s are a bit loose.
Gave this shoe 4 stars for the inconsistent sizing.
Going to exchange for a size 9 wide.

I wanted to like these shoes as many of my running friends wear these. I ran in them one day and my feet were not having it. After running in Altra’s, I can’t do these, so they were returned. I did a half marathon with new Altra’s out the box and had no pain in my feet.

I love The Hoka product bit the price of the shoes for how long the shoes last, for me, isn't conducive to a happy wallet. The shoes wear terribly for me and O find myself having to look for a next best option.

I own another pair of Hokas so I thought I would buy a different model on line. The shoes didn't fit the same, not a big surprise, so I sent them back per the warranty. That's the last I've heard from them.

Ordered the Clifton in size 11.5 as recommended by the website. My first pair got lost in Memphis and the second pair took a while to get sent out. Once received, I wore them for the weekend until I couldn't anymore. They were too tight and hurt my feet. I have to say when I put my Brooks back on, it felt like I was walking on concrete!!! I will definitely try another pair of Hokas, but I will be going to a store to try on instead of ordering through the website.
