I tried the version five and got blisters on my big toe. My foot is not abnormal, just wide. 12W in version 5 gave blisters. 12W in version 6 does not. If I could critique one thing, these seem to stuggle going up hills though. They don't have the response that something like the Saucony Kinvara 11 has. But for a person with only 60% of my achilles tendon left (CSA) due to infections after surgery, these work pretty well. I wouldn't race in them, but as trainers, they are good.

I have a fused ankle and need a wide shoe. It's barely wise enough. If you have a high arch good luck I have tongue as wide as it will go. Laces are barely long enough to tie. By end of the day it's tight across the top of my football.

I love the feel and it helps with my knee pain, but even though I order the same size and style my second pair was one size too large, even though the tag says that they are the same

I'm 5'11", 186lbs, with an size 11 US mens foot that is V shaped where the flare is slightly wider than average and heel slightly narrower than average. I'm in the middle of base building and am at currently at 29km (18mi) per week running 6 days per week. I'm 30 years old, have been active all of my life. I played mostly tennis and basketball until 18 where I started to run on and off (but not really train) for the next 5 years or so. I have run about 7 half marathons (2:30 or so pb) and a handful of shorter races. Fits true to size. Adequate toe room, but doesn't quite accommodate my slightly wider foot. With the correct lacing and some break in (just 10k or so) my foot settled in. Heel isn't confidently locked down (even with runner's knot), but heel slippage is minor and hasn't affected my run. I don't normally get blisters or hot spots and these shoes are no different. Upper is plush without being obnoxiously padded. I'm using these for runs over 6k (4+ miles; not that far, since I'm still getting back into running) at 7:15-7:45 min/k. My first run, I was underwhelmed. My foot got tight and would cramp up and I felt like I needed to put more effort than I'd like to keep my weight from sinking into the shoe. My second run in them, it started to click. I focused on using the rocker to facilitate quicker turnover. My third run, and I am officially a Hoka fanboy. Running on marshmallows is a perfect description for these shoes. As long as I allowed the rocker to keep my turnover quick (which became automatic with this third run), I would gently roll off the marshmallow vs sink into it. There isn't much rebound or response. Rolling off of a marshmallow really is the best description of the sensation. This third and (longest run since starting up again) was 7k (little over 4 miles) and I felt like I could easily have gone much longer. My feet and legs still felt fresh afterwards. I had never experienced this at any distance over 3 miles ever in my life. I also purchased the Rincon around the same time, and although the Rincon is currently my favorite shoe I've ever worn, the Clifton is wonderful for my use-case; slow, easy miles where I can confidently push the distance without worrying about the comfort of my feet or joints.

My only issue is with the width of the shoe. The middle of my foot feels a little too narrow for my feet even though Ive been sized as a EE width.

These are great/soft and good on your knees - definitely worth it. One complaint is that after a couple of hundred miles (or maybe more... about 6 months) of daily 6mi walking and running got a hole in the back of the shoes interior and hard plastic sticking out of there.

very nice athletic shoe, comfortable, good fit and stylish. heel has more roll than other brands I have tried and I found it difficult to get used to. not ideal for me, but others liked it, so give it a try.

My 3rd pair of Hoka, love them. Got my Mom, Aunt, and several others wearing them. I have had 5 spine surgeries and have resulting leg and feet issues. Only thing is I feel a little unstable in these. Maybe you could send me pair that you could recommend since I'm such a great customer! Be helpful if you had a dealer in my area too

I am not a runner, but was advised by a runner's shop that these shoes were great for walking also. While it too a little time to get used to the different slope of the shoe on my feet, it is very comfortable.

Comfortable due to the amazing and supportive foot bed. Would give it 5 stars if they had complete Vibram coverage on the souls. Exposed foam will get torn up faster based on my experience.

These shoes are good quality and have an enormous amount of cushioning for the bottom of the feet. I could use more lateral support, especially around the inside arches..

These shoes have great cushion. I’m normally xtra wide but was told to try the wide. It almost worked out, left shoe was good, right shoe just a little tight around instep area. I have a number of foot issues but thanks to Zappos and their help I’ll be able to find something. Found a New Balance that’s a keeper. Still need 2 more pairs. If Hoka ever makes a3E I’m there. Hoka was by far the most comfortable and cushion shoe I’ve tried, just a little to narrow.

Good at first but Developed pain at heel after wearing for a few hours. I've got some plantar fascitis issues, yes... but it felt like a marble under my heel. It's really really difficult for me to find shoes that fit and don't cause pain.

Drawback the standard size is too narrow for me, would suggest you update the "With Chart" with dimensional data! - These would make good cool weather running shoes, they run just a tad Hot. Though they run great, cushioning is fantastic, my next order is definitely the Wide!

I run about 2-3 times a week. Prior to running in these shoes I had significant shin splints that would hinder consistent training. Since using the Clifton 6 I have had minimal shin splints and running feels so much better. I highly recommend these sneakers.

At about 340 miles on my first pair of Clifton 6s the ball of my foot behind my pinky toe started hurting. I pulled out the insert and put my foot in and noticed that the footbed has a concave shape and was irritating my foot. Its like there is a ridge along the outside (and the inside) of the shoe. I thought maybe it was that I had worn out the shoe, so I bought a new pair, but still have the same problem. Will need to see if I can find a Hoka with a flatter footbed. Other than that, I really loved the first pair.

i like the Clifton 6's well enough but i really liked the Hoka One One Rincon's a lot, like my favorite shoe ever, with one critical caveat. the Rincon's are too narrow and don't come in a wide model. If they fit more like an Altra brand shoe the Rincon's would be perfect. as it it, with my wide foot, i'll stick with my Altra Escalante 2's
I'd also recommend:
Altra

I really like the sneaker for my daily 6 mile walks. Plenty of room for the toes. I wear a 10 1/2 size dress shoe and normally an 11 running/walking shoe. These are an 11. The arch seems a bit high and firm but also seems too e getting softer after about 20 miles of walking.
