These are great. I'm very narrow and I really appreciate it when I can find a narrow width shoe. Especially, one that comes in a color and not just black. My only complaint is that the laces could be longer. I've laced them up to the second to last hole and I just have enough length to double knot. I wear them for walking and they are super comfortable and stable. I would definitely buy these again next time w/ out shopping for other options. Love that they are Made in America too.

The shoe has a short last, length in ball of foot. I had to return and get a half of a size larger . Like the shoes though.

These fit well. Only saddened by the lack of styles available to those of us born with a combination of extremely wide feet (4EEE) not only between areas that suffered in the past with bunions and corns, but also a high arch and even higher instep. It's a lot for a shoe to surround. These however were wonderful, but I have added Dr. Scoll's insteps in addition to what was already there. Thank you for at least carrying these. I bought two pair!

I hadn't tried this brand before, and I sometimes need a wide width, so I ordered that but it was too wide in the toe box for me. Overall it is well made and with good support and padding. If you can wear an ECCO medium width, but would need a wide in a SAS, try the medium first with this one.

My goal was to buy walking shoes that were made in the US. No one makes them. I bought these running shoes. They are nicely made and fit comfortably. My problem is the sole is so hard and stiff. I've had them for about 2 weeks now and put about 30 miles on them. They are starting to get a little more comfortable. Maybe all running shoes are like this?

These New Balance give me great support. This model also is the most comfortable running shoe I've had. I ran for 35 years, and have been walking for at least 10 years. My only complaint is that this pair is too stiff. This is the third time with this model shoe. After 3 weeks, they are starting to soften up. Yes, I will keep buying this model New Balance.

These shoes had little if any soul cushioning. They looked great and might be the perfect shoe for someone, but for someone looking for that cushioned step feeling. I have other New Balance styles, some much less expensive, that have had better cushioning. Sadly, I am returning these shoes.

I loved the appearance of this shoe, but it didn't 'roll' when I walked....i felt like I was walking flatfooted. :{

I wear a narrow. My feet are long and thin. I was not happy with the rounded toe area. The toe box is higher and bigger than I can handle walking with my very thin narrow feet and thin ankles, not to mention I feel like I look like Mini Mouse. I did not feel the heel was held securely enough for me.

I was wearing a 2E for the longest time until this shoe came around. Now I am a 4E. I have been wearing this model for about 4 years now and I am sick of it. I've had all of the colors at least twice. New Balance, when are you going to use some new colors for this shoe? These are so neutral and bland, but it is the only wide shoe that is made for overpronators. It keeps my knees and ankles free of pain. I hate that people with wide feet have to wear ugly shoes.

This shoe runs narrow in the toe box. The 840 is much roomier for the toes while still fitting my narrow heel. The 1540 has stability enhancements if needed. I returned the 1540 and kept the 840 which was comfortable for me.

Flat feet and overpronation are the reason I spend the money for better shoes. Normally, I wear new balance or Brooks because they have support. These new balance were expensive but sounded good. I can honestly say these are the most uncomfortable new balance I have ever worn. My feet are killing me after being in them for more than an hour. Very disappointing. I think I may have to stick to brooks or try Hola or another brand next.

I wanted to like these, but the heels were too wide and kept slipping. the tongue was also strangely short, and so were the laces. So it was challenging to tie up. I went down a size, and the heels were still too loose.

I have been wearing New Balance 1540 for years. These were simply not as comfortable. The bed of shoe was much harder than previous shoes. Not sure why. Returned.

Work as an RN in a PACU and loved the fit of these shoes standing long hours BUT the shortness of the tongue bothered the heck out of me. I had to keep on pulling the tongue up and centering it. Was hoping that the new ones would have a longer one but it doesn't so on to finding a different shoe till then.

I love the color and they seem to be made well. However, there seems to be little cushion. I feel like I am walking directly on the pavement. I bought these sneakers for the quality of support and I am disappointed.

I've bought this 1540v3 model for years. This new pair just doesn't have the same arch support as before. Feels like it's more cheaply made.

This is a women's footwear, so you had to order a "size & a half" larger and they then fit. Very sturdy, if not stiff, so not 'too much' "cushioning" for running. No fault with the solid workmanship, but expect a little bit of a "rough ride". "True to fit" means women's sizes are taken into account.

I don't know what's going on with New Balance - I've worn these shoes for year and all of a sudden they don't offer the comfort and support I'd expect. I actually kept these and after walking in them for four days I was in so much pain - my feet and knees were killing me. I went back to my 2 year old worn out shoes and they were more comfortable.

Fit well but very stiff and hard on the bottom. Not very cushioned or flexible. I have a very flat foot, and they did not dig into my arch. I did have to take the nice cushy old insole from my Brooks Ariel and put in them cause the hard sole hurt.

This was a very sturdy shoe, however, the sole area in the heel was not working for me. It would cause my heel turn in and proNate inward. Since I could not locate the v2 of this shoe I was hoping this would suffice. Not so. I had to return. Please reconsider making the 1540v2 shoe again. It was perfect for my daily 3 mile walks and my foot issues.
