The shoe is shallow inside. The tongue is narrow and short. Something is cutting across the top of my foot that becomes painful with short wear time, so there is no room for insoles to improve the lack of arch support. I was happy to find a made in USA shoe and this was so disappointing to find one that isn't designed well. It looks like every corner was cut in cost saving.

I paid a premium price for made in the usa sneakers for my wife. The shoes we not comfortable, had poor stitching and started come apart. They were shipped back and we never recieved any replies to to our concerns. Not impressed with NB.

This shoe was recommended to me because I had great success with the NB 993 but this 1540v3 was a total failure for me. The fit was not god and I was in pain almost immediately. I returned these shoes.

I got my first pair in January at our local New Balance store. After two months of wear, a hole began forming where my left big toe presses on the inside lining. This has never happened before in my many years of wearing New Balance shoes. I went to the store and explained to the clerk what was happening and that I felt the shoe was defective. The clerk was extremely rude but very begrudgingly gave me a new pair. Now after three months of wear, the same thing is happening. The inside lining of the shoe where my left big toe presses has formed a hole. It won't be long until the mesh also wears through and I won't be able to wear these shoes if I want to look presentable. This is unacceptable for shoes of this price.

The pictures do not do this shoe justice. Congrats to NB for making a simple athletic shoe so closely resemble a box. They don't get any more orthopedic looking than this.

I had bought your 1540V2 shoe several years ago and wore them out. The 1540V2 shoe was a really good running shoe. So I bought your 1540V3 shoe & hated it. I returned them and am waitng for my refund! The shoe is too bulky and clumsy, the tongue is too short and because the shoe has too much added cushioning and is too bulky, the laces are not long enough. Why did you have a good style shoe with the 1540V2 and then mess it up with the 1540V3!!

I am a 66-year-old woman. I walk daily. I bought the W1540GD3 running course shoe in the Fall of 2019 and by April of 2020, the mesh has small tears on the front of both shoes right where my big toe is. I have been a loyal customer and have worn New Balance shoes with the Rollbar for years and have never had a problem like this. I have noticed that with each new shoe purchase there has been a decline in quality. This mesh is not the quality of previous shoes.

I've worn NB for years because they have always carried narrows - I don't know what happened but these are so wide even in my usual 8N. My foot was swimming in them and there was no way I could have done any sort of workout. Sent them back.

The shoes that I received were WAY TOO SMALL, so much so that I could not even get my foot into the shoe. DO NOT recommend buying these shoes AT ALL.

A customer service member recommended this shoe to me and it didn't fit nearly as well as the shoe I currently wear NB 1080v9. I found the shoe I have now somewhere else. Sorry NB stopped making it and doesn't have any in stock.

Did not feel right. Just didn't care for this shoe. Was disappointed because so many people seemed to like them. I pronate quite a bit, and I have a skinny flat foot. Despite the fact that my foot is skinny, these shoes seemed cramped.

This shoe is nothing like the V2. It is stiff and the shoe box is more narrow. I will be returning these

I'm a nurse and work on my feet A LOT! Have worn New Balance shoes for years and have always been happy until I got these. They are the latest version of the style I've been wearing all these years. Not sure what happened, but this version is uncomfortable, has very little padding and the toebox is too "short." Wish I could've had a "trial run" with them so I would've known not to buy them.

The pair of shoes I purchased did not fit, were totally uncomfortable and were absolutely incompatible with the way I utilize this type of shoe. Very poor product.

I thought that I was happy with the shoe initially until I noticed the hard rubber from the edge of the sole pressing into my arch. It seems that the rubber sole is too narrow which is veru strange. I have never had this issue with any shoe in my life and I know that I am a standard width.

I purchased my 1540v3's 2 weeks ago. I have worn Brooks Ariel's for the past 15 years. I have wife feet and was excited to see that these shoes come in a 4E width. However, I am vey disappointed in these shoes. The width is good. But the stiffness is an issue for me. I run/walk 5 plus miles a day and have tried these shoes for 2 weeks. I wish I could return them as I will not be wearing them again. I just ordered another pair of Brooks Ariel's- and now that Brooks has fixed the issues with their distribution center- they assure me I will have them in 2 days. Sorry New Balance- but your shoes arejust not the quality of the Brooks Ariels.

I wear a size 5.5 or 6, and need a wide shoe with high instep, which means an SL-2 last. I've worn NB for at least the last 10 years. Why, then, is 1540v3 narrower than 1540v2, which was narrower than 1540v1. Are you using a new SL-2 last too? My newest pair, now worn for about a month, are v3, and they just are not cutting it, too tight once my orthotics are in. Would you PLEASE remake some cute shoes for us women with short wide feet?

This shoe is super heavy & the toebox is too narrow even in a 4E wide because NB keeps making new models narrower in the toebox each year. I need an SL-2 last in a 4E wide but NB refuses to make cute, wide enough models for women. All of the cute models only come in a 2E wide for women.
