Very surprisingly NB, doesn't count with a gift receipt option, even upon specific request contacting their team, who just declined the request.

I use these shoes mostly for walking and put about 31/2-4 miles per day on them. I found that I needed to break them in by using a thicker insole (NB 1200) for the first 15 miles, but now am back to the original insole that came with the shoes. They are very sturdy and quite comfortable, and I feel that they are going to be far more durable than other athletic shoes I have worn in the past. The fact that they are made in America is one of the major factors that led me to buy them, and it is a decision that has proven to be very comfortable as well - happy feet, happy me :-)

A decade ago, a foot surgeon advised me to wear New Balance shoes because they had good quality and because you could get an accurate width as well as size. I have been wearing them (as walking shoes) ever since. New Balance changes the model number occasionally (for marketing?) but for this shoe the actual changes have been rather modest, which is just fine with me. This is the first pair of 990v5 shoes I have worn, and they are just as excellent as the prior models, and my size/width remained the same and as did the perfect fit. (Too bad they aren't a bit less expensive.)

I had to return these. I believe I was shipped a pair of men's shoes that were marketed as ladies. Very nice shoes, but not typical ladies sizing.

Just purchased a replacement for my 992's. I have loved these shoes and worn every day. I have purchased other running/workout/walking shoes but these are where I usually end up in at the end of the day. Always comfortable and have stayed perfectly intact after all these years. I have five pairs of New Balance shoes that I rotate through the week. They are the most comfortable shoes I have owned. My podiatrist ranks them in the top 3 brands. They look good and feel even better.

I was having a lot of ankle and foot pain at work and when I switched to these all of the pain went away in a week! Highly recommend if you're on your feet all day! I normally wear 8.5 in most shoes but went down to an 8 and they fit perfectly.

I have bought these sneakers for my husband mutliple times now and I am always happy. They fit well, are very comfortable and durable. I would recommend these to others. It is nice that they are dark so you can wear with anything, they don't look like sneakers.

I feel awesome wearing these because they are both very good looking and also very comfortable. With size 14B feet it is not easy to find something like this. New Balance has always managed to fit me very well and I love the fact that they're made in the United States.

Everyday wear for past ten(?) Years . . . Perfect fit, comfy for all activities. But . . . Wears out after 5 weeks, rebound is gone, impact on feet/ legs not good. Otherwise good shoe, perfer Black color over Grey.

I've been wearing these for years due to the extra wide widths and love them. Since retirement I've tried less expensive New Balance shoes such as the Soft Foam line (which I loved), but they triggered my Plantar Fasciitis and it cost me a trip to the doctor for a shot in my foot to relieve the pain of my plantar fasciitis. These are the only shoes I can wear with no pain. PLEASE make them in more colors for women.

I wear these for both running and walking in my mornng workout. The narrow fit is perfect for my narrow foot and the support is firm without being stiff. I have bought them (differnt versions
every three months for the last 3-4 years. I average at least five miles a day running and walking over varying rough, gravel, grass and pavement. While 5 miles may not seem a lot to some I'm 73 years old and have asthma.
