Very comfortable everyday shoes.

Spend the money on more expensive NB. It's worth it

I bought a pair of sneakers for my best friend's birthday, and he absolutely loves them! They fit perfectly, provide great orthopedic support, and have even helped with his back injury. I'd like to reorder the same pair, but I noticed that the Men’s New Balance Made in the USA 990v5 is currently out of stock. Could you please let me know when it will be available for purchase again?

My first pair of the 990's and they feel fantastic on my feet,and they're not to squishy which is what I like . That and a firm sole .

Previous versions felt sturdier than the latest version. That is a subjective opinion but I read that others also feel this newest version, 990v6, is less desirable than 990v5 which apparently is no longer available.

These shoes are great. Well made and comfortable right out of the box. Too bad New Balance discontinued them, the newer design is nowhere near as good.

My measured shoe size is 10 4E, but I ordered these in 6E as 4E shoes tend to fit tight. These seem to fit nicely in a 6E for me. Good support when running.

8 1/2 N was too short, so I got this 9 N which works well.

Nice fit and lasted a long time before needing to be replaced.

Fit was comfortable for use with my orthotics and sports socks.

Purchased these for my husband. He’s been wearing the 990 series since the beginning. He says 990v5 is the best fitting version.

990v5 fit very comfort out of the box. These are for my husband. He’s been a dedicated 990 series wearer from their beginning!

My son likes these shoes. They are extremely comfortable and come in wide which he needs. He wears a 13 and purchased a 13. I like that they are US made. A bit expensive but made well.

I have bought New Balance 990s for years, and this is the first pair where there has been some defect. I ordered these December 2022 on sale, stored them until September 2023 when I started wearing them. After the first two weeks, the lowers started flaking. Great shoes in every other respect, but I can't help but wonder if this is what "assembled in the US from global materials" looks like.

About 35 years ago, when I ran 4-5 miles five times a week, I developed knee pain and saw an orthopedist. I was diagnosed with chondromalacia patella, inflammation behind the kneecap. I then saw a highly regarded doctor at a university sports medicine clinic, who gave me two "prescriptions": one for custom-made orthotics, and the other to get myself NB 990's. Following those directions enabled me to keep running until my mid-60's, and ever since then I've been able to keep fit by hiking in the hills. When my ankles, knees or hip start to feel cranky, I know it's time to replace my NB 990's (which have had different numbers starting with 99X over time, and are 990 V5 now). I much appreciate Zappo's having made them more affordable on a sale. For me it truly is like renewing a prescription. I just started wearing the new pair; they look and feel to be the same fit, feel and quality as I've been used to.

I've worn these before, ind searched far and wide for my size. NB has discontinued this model and they are very hard to come by

I’ve been wearing this model and earlier versions for several years. These are very comfortable and fit well.

i give this a bad review because after about 1 year the right shoe began listing to the right. it was no longer balanced or flat when i walked. My right foot was at an angle to the outside of the foot instead of flat. It was so bad i had to get rid of the shoes. it like rolled to the right. The shoe was defective.

NB990v5 are perfect! My husband has worn the NB990 for over 30 years.
