I need my shoes to last at least a couple months. These only lasted about 2 weeks. The new balance outlet I bought them from was horrible, and now the shoe wants to slip off. I really would have expected more since I buy multiple pairs a year.

Unfortunately have large and wide feet has always been a problem for finding comfortable shoes. New balance had always helped by offering double wide fit. Unfortunately all of their better looking shoes were unavailable in wide fit and of the three pairs that I ordered in double wide only one actually fit. I recently found two other brands that fit better and were available in their better designs.

The shoe is still great and wears well. I am not sure what happened to the old school laces, but this shoe came with "girl" like laces, too thin and weak looking. Lucky for me I had several pairs of the "original' replacement laces on-hand to swap out. The laces that came with the shoe look bad. Lastly, the shoe is also a little tight across the toes, but still works O.K. I will keep on truckn in my old man shoes

Everyday use going here and there and to and fro . . .
I NEED a wide size and so far New Balance is the ONLY shoe that can deliver comfort and proper fit. Black goes with everything and appearance if classy.

These shoes are a little too big. The last pair was a little too small. I hate online shopping, but unfortunately, my local Super Runners Store doesn't have my size and can't get it until December 2022 at the earliest, so I had no choice.

I have very narrow heels, so I've bought NB shoes for many years, largely because they come in AA widths. The 990's are an excellent shoe, with solid support. I love wearing them!

The arch built into the shoe was shifted back toward the front end of my heel and very unpleasant. Did not line up with arch. That is not a problem with most shoes, therefore it's hard for me to believe my feet were the problem.
I'd also recommend:
Keen (beyond perfect fit, in same order but for waterproof hiking shoe)

I don't know if it was a defective shoe I got or something unusual about my feet but the arch was noticeably too far back and the hump of the arch pushed in toward the forward part of my heal instead of matching where the arch is. And I don't have that problem with most shoes I order so this was strange. Anyway, not a functional situation for me. I got a pair of Keen hiking shoes at the same time and the fit couldn't be more perfect for me right out of the box, everything lined-up, so how much of it is me and how much of it is the New Balance design?

It's not easy to shop Made in America. I was very pleased when fiinally found these walking shoes. They were priced higher than my normal comfort zone, but they are worth it for Made in America. They are a little too large for me and will be returned.
Please make more products here. The idea of children working in Chinese factories is barbaric.

The fit and size are fine. Comfort is excellent. I would give them a 5 rating, but for this issue: The TONGUE on both shoes keeps sliding to one side, and I have to adjust it constantly. Definitely would be a runners problem. I need to have comfy ALL BLACK shoes and so I tolerate this, but there must be something New Balance can do to fix this problem. These are too expensive for what they are, but they are very comfortable.
