Great fit and comfort. No heel slippage. Good traction in wet and muddy conditions.

The Alverstone fit as expected as all of my Merrell shoes have. The only thing that was not as expected was the color variation from the picture on the web. The shoe is darker than what I thought the picture showed but not bad enough to send back. Overall I am happy with the shoe so far.

This a comfortable durable shoe to wear at work and outside of work.

The shoes where exactly what I wanted; however, they were two narrow and uncomfortable in the arch of my foot. I have 3 other pairs of Merrell that are all 10.5 and feet great. I assume the other pairs are wide and I didn't see it on the tag prior to ordering this pair. I returned this pair and will order the 10.5 wide.

My brother likes this boot as it is lightweight with super tread on sole. Great support! The boot is made very well! Keep up the good work Merrell!

I've never been disappointed with a pair of Merrell shoes, so I got what I was expecting. The shoes fit well and are comfortable.

The Alverstone fits my foot perfectly. All day It feels like I am wearing a shoe. The support is fantastic.

Flawlessly constructed, light weight, all-day comfortable shoes. On the trails or off. The wide width is perfect for any type of socks. My new favorite pair of shoes!

Great design. I like these because they are less like a boot and more of a hiking shoe. Less clunky, and very breathable because they are not waterproof. I would like to see more hiking items like this that are not waterproof. The shipping was very fast.

Well I finally wore out my Moab Edge 2s after over a year and a half of everyday wear (midsoles broke down, but they still look great). I wanted something a bit more subdued than the bright orange trim, so I tried the Alverstones. In size 11.5 they were a bit smaller than the Moabs in the same size, so I called Merrell and got a very pleasant American-sounding woman, on a Sunday no less! She was very helpful, e-mailed me a return label, and took my order for the size 12s. They arrived a few days later and I've been enjoying them ever since!

Got them on Sunday and hiked Mount Lamlam, Guam the very next day. Felt amazing no foot pain at all during the hike. Very happy I purchased them. I can't wait to use them again on another hike.

I bought a pair, laced them up and hiked up Mt Sinai. They felt like I had owned them for years. I was just short of the summit by no fault of my Merrells, but still enjoyed a beautiful sunrise. Size runs fairly true but .5 size up is a safe bet. Love them!

great shoes

The first time I put this shoe on it felt like I had been wearing it for months. It was immediately comfortable. Glad I bought them.

Happy with the price These are a bit wider than some I've tried on. Very comfortable with great support. I feel like I could wear these all day.

I am extremely picky about my shoes and how they fit. I was satisfied from the first step.

I have owned a number of pairs of Merrill shoes.The comfort is great and the sizing always spot on.However the big complaint I have is the laces are constantly becoming untied.I put on anywhere from 12 to 13 steps per day in my job.No matter what I do they are untied,it gets real annoying having to tie your shoes 10 to 15 times per day,not to mention unsafe.

I've had and worn these for a couple months now and I'm blown away. I've found my new favorite shoe brand. I actually bought these for work as I do deliveries to new construction sites and homes and am always walking through rough terrain and boots are too hot in the summer for me. The breathability and durability in these are unmatched. Comfort is so good, that I actually wear these just out and about and not just at work at times. These are amazing. The only reason I have 4 stars and not 5 is because I so so SO wish Merrell would make a shoe with a composite/safety toe and possibly a puncture resistant bottom that would be better suited for my application. Get back to me on that Merrell, you could call it the Taylor.

Stable, durable, and lightweight feels like you can tackle any task in these shoes. I call them the dirt bikes for my feet.

Nice fit, look and feel after a week to break in. Only slight issue for me is It's hard to double knot them. The laces don't hold without doing that.

Good fit. Great shoe for the price. I wish there was more foam in the insert. They were a little uncomfortable at the finish of my recent 5 mile hike.
