What a great little jacket. I love how light weight it is but water resistant and breathable at the same time. If you are looking for a light weight layer for the trail then this is the perfect jacket.

Second one I've owned over the last few years, not thick but blocks wind and is very abrasion resistant. Overall solid shell And breathable, you can wear skiing with layers of t shirt underneath in the summer to block the sun.

I live in Oregon and this jacket has been perfect weight to add layers underneath and meet most weather situations when hiking and traveling the state. It works well for the light ongoing rain days that are common here. It will eventually soak through in real rain, but dries quickly.

Love Ferrosi jackets. Nice lightweight soft shell, durable material. Fits great good design. I bought this oversize for a winter jacket, can wear puffy underneath, covers butt. I have not tested in wet weather but love it as a wind shell.

Terrific light jacket. Fit is good. I'm 5-11, 180 and the large fits well enough to accommodate a layer underneath and not feel to baggy to wear by itself. As mentioned, the sleeves are a bit long but I prefer that so that I can use it occasionally when cycling . Big fan of OR gear.

I've used these for three month of Swabian Winter. I recently moved from a tropical climate (hot and humid) to southern Germany, near the Black Forest (Cold and damp winters). I use this jacket, in combination with various warming layers based on the temperature and conditions, for trail running, hiking, and light snow activities, and its kept me warm and dry for hours without overheating. I'll use it in temperatures ranging from near 0 degrees F if I'm constantly moving (running, fast hiking) to 40+ degrees F if I'm less active. I've found it to repel rain well as long as its not torrential. If you're moving fast and have the front unzipped at all, or there's a decent wind, the hood can shift around a bit (if its not actually on your head), but I love having the option of putting the hood on when I stop - and paired with a beanie, after a hard workout, its the bomb during breaks. Fits exactly as described.

This is a must have part of my gear. As a professional I demand top quality from my gear. I expect nothing short of durability and functionality. This piece has NEVER let me down. I WAY prefer the hooded version vs. Non hooded one due to its flexibility.

Breathable and light, I wear it for backcountry. Its a bit on the thin side, lets say you are looking something bulkier. Feels great overall. I intend to use the jacket for waterfowl hunting as well, I like the coyote colour, fits well with my Max5 "camouflage" waders.

This jacket provides baseline weather resistance (don't count on it if the forecast calls for rain) and good breathability, making it a great jacket for running or any uphill activity where you don't want to get too sweaty. I've used this in the spring/fall for: single pitch rock climbing, the climbing gym (which is always cold), running and hiking. Over a base layer and fleece this is my go to for ski touring as well.

I having been using a Ferrosi hooded jacket for the past five years. It is my go to shell for high output activities in wind or light rain/snow. My primary uses are for AT skiing, running, backpacking, climbing or mountain biking. It will wet out in moderate to high precipitation.

Living in Seattle I'm out in the mountains at least once a week. I almost always wear a shell for a bit of warmth and wind protection. I'm also a real fan of nylon. This jacket ticks all the boxes. It is flat out the best breathing shell I've ever had so it's still comfortable as I heat up on the ascent. When out in the wind it offers some warmth and protection. Note that you can't have it all, if it breathes exceptionally well it's not going to have the wind protection and warmth of a less permeable fabric. It's a balance and for me that balance is perfect. It works well in more conditions than any other shell I've owned and I've been wearing shells in the mountains for quite a few years now. It will offer some drip, I won't say rain, protection. This is my second one of these. My first traveled the world from Bhutan to Norway but was lost along with my car keys on a local day hike. But that's another story ...

I got this jacket on a whim, hoping it might have a fleece lining (it doesn't). Just the same I tried it on and fell in love with it immediately. I love the stretchiness and the durability of the fabric. It doesn't keep you warm, but it does block the wind. I wore mine this afternoon to walk our dog, and I had a down vest on underneath with a quarter zip performance hoodie and even with a 25mph wind I stayed pretty warm. This is more of a spring/summer/fall jacket, and I look forward to using it on my backpacking and BWCA trips next summer. In the meantime I will daily wear this layer, it looks sharp and will be a great layer for warmer winter days here in the midwest. Love the color too (burnt orange). Get one while they are on sale!

Use as light shell for backcountry skiing and winter runs. Decent breathability, sheds light dry snow, fabric has good stretch and feels durable. Plan to use on alpine climbs this summer. Good windbreaker for someone who runs hot.

Lightweight and kept me warm on both hiking and skiing when paired with a shell (used the ascent shell) in 30ish degree weather. Only downside is the sleeves are too long for my build. I'm 5'8 and 180lbs with an average wingspan for my height. Not a big deal, I just don't use the thumb loops.

I use these for very cold weather outings. This jacket keeps me extremely warm but I can only use it when I know it's going to be very cold or else I'll be too warm. It does a great job of protecting me from wing as well. This jacket also has a great fit.
