This is the second Ferrosi Jacket I have owned. The first one I got used 8 years ago and it is still going strong. I decided to purchace a larger size as I have filled out somewhat in that time. I continue to be impressed by the balence of lightweight fabric and durrabiliy in use. It is comfortable and stretchy and breathes well enough to do light to moderate exersize without getting too swetty. It is the pefect layer for running or hiking in cool temps and even provides a moderate amount of wind protection. I really want to try the vertion of this that has the fleece liner in some colder temps.

Actually just bought 2 in different colors and was going to return one. Now, I am going to keep both. One for cool days around here (SoCal) and one for peak bagging as a layer. Great fabric feel, looks good, does block the wind but have not used it in rain yet, but I have an OR shell for that anyway. It is not a cold weather jacket but a thin protective multiuse shell or sorts. I bought both on sale so am very satisfied.

I recently took a trip into the Idaho wilderness and used the hoodie as my main shell. The hoodie keep me comfortable in high exercise and warm while sitting for extended periods.

This is my second Ferrosi jacket, and I am completely impressed. This jacket stays dry in wet conditions, and blocks the wind really well. On a late season spring snow, it kept me warm, dry and moving through lots of scrambling and sliding in the back country. This even looks good casually with jeans. Highly recommend.

Just the right weight for very flexible layering. Compresses to almost nothing to pack, wrinkles drop out ok, great wind resistance. Very quiet fabric as well.

I naught this primarily for a warm weather hunting jacket. It's been terrific to take the edge off a cold morning or evening and is great to break the wind. Awesome jacket.

Seriously this jacket is the Swiss Army knives of jackets. I love it. I use it all the time. Easy to fold up or just stuff in my backpack or wife's purse. Even in my golf bag! A must have! Flexible and surprisingly decent at stopping wind and providing some warmth given its weight.

I am 6'1" and 180 lbs. The fit works for me, being slightly loose, allowing free and easy movement, as well as room for layering. The sleeves seem a little long, but that makes sense if you use the thumb holes - which is a feature I rarely use. As it is, the longish sleeve length also allows room for movement - so not a problem. The fabric is clearly durable, but light and breathable. I have only worm it in a light, misty rain, for which it was perfect. I know it will not stand up to any significant rainfall, but that is not what I bought this for. This is a great throw-on jacket for cool weather hikes, camp chores, etc. The stitching is great. I have no doubts I will be using this jacket for many years. A quality product from a very reliable outdoor clothing company.

What is there to say? It performs as described and looks good doing it. It is a great layer that moves with you without weighing you down. It breathes well, and sheds the quick, random sprinkle. Would definitely recommend!

I've owned this jacket years ago, and I'm pleased to say the latest model is just as good as the original. This jacket really shines on windy days, whether hot or cold. It'll protect against light rain well, too, but won't stand up to prolonged exposure in a storm. It's durable fabric also breathes incredibly well for the wind/rain protection it offers -- no more sweating under your outerwear!

I used this as a mid-layer in combination with an OR fleece while on Mt. Hood in unusually warm conditions based on the time of year and on a small peak in the Olympics in unusually cold / wet conditions for the time of year. Breathability, mobility, and durability are all excellent with this article. I own a Large Ferrosi jacket which was the suggested fit based on my measurements (5'11, 175lbs, athletic build 43" chest and size 30 or less pants waist) however I purchased this in medium and the fit was much better (runs large). If you're trying to fit this over a uniform of sorts or other layers for a bit of added warmth / a little weather protection, stick with the size for your measurements, otherwise go a size smaller. @OR: Thanks so much for providing earthy colors in this article of clothing (green, brown, etc...). These colors are needed for certain applications. =)

I was looking for a light, general purpose jacket with a bit more durability and versatility than a fleece, and this fit the bill and then some. Lightweight, convenient jacket for a variety conditions. Keeping it in the car for now as my go to. Echo the comments regarding the longer sleeves, but I find they're not inconvenient, and I tend to get some use out of the thumb holes and extra length during runs in cooler conditions.

This jacket is a really full-featured softshell, and like all softshells, it isn't for everything. But what it is good for, it's really good for. The water repellency is really good, the stretch is amazing, and the wind resistance is pretty good, while the breathability is awesome. In a civilized color it works fine as a town jacket, and it's crazy comfortable. But note that the material is quite light, so while some soft shells do provide a bit of insulation, this one provides very little. Because the face of the fabric is quite smooth, you can layer over it as well as under it, and it even has thumb holes. I found the sizing to be right on. Extra credit--the zipper is tooth, not coil. Longer lasting and much smoother action than coil. There's a major trend, at OR and other companies, to soup up softshell with grid fleece and other kinds of stuff. This one is old school and perfect, with everything you really need and nothing that you don't. Durable, comfortable, versatile, and relatively affordable. Major win in my book.

Own a couple of these. Love this lightweight and multiple use jacket. I throw it in my backpack, wear it on its own or use it to layer. Light enough to use for sun protection but also does a good job cutting out the wind or light moisture. One of my all time favorite jackets.

I've worn this jacket biking, hiking, and climbing and it has performed great! It is lightweight and breathable, but still provides good wind protection. The pocket also works as a stuff sack which has been very useful.

Great three season jacket, keeps you cool when temps rise and takes the chill out of early morning adventures. A little oversized which is good when you need a bit of stretch when activity dictates.

Great jacket, use it all the time, whether for walking to work, or long skin tracks in the mountains, it does it all until it's time to put on the goretex shell.
