I do love the comfort of the shoe. I had just purchased Brooks..and it was not as comfortable as I hoped.
Hoka is great for on you feet all day. I did have one little issue, which is why I did 4 stars instead of 5.
After several wears, I noticed a clicking sound from one of the shoes as I walk. Kinda like a small bubble wrap pop. That is why I ordered another Pair so soon. I do love the shoe!

I bought 1/2 size up and they fit great! My heals hurt when I wear them so I need to pick up a good pair of insoles.

I do long distance walking in these. They are just a little too wide, but I can tighten the laces for the right fit. The regular width can feel a bit narrow during/after a long trek. I really like these. I like fun colors for my shoes, my only complaint with women's hokas is that the color combos available aren't very exciting/are blah. This isn't unique to hoka, when I look at other brands the women's colors are often blah, while the men get all the good color combos.

I really like the style of this shoe, but they are not as comfortable as I anticipated. I need wide shoes and was so happy to find that there was a wide option in some of the Hoka styles. The toe box does seem wide, but still causes discomfort on the big toe side of my foot as the material does not really give at all. I'm hoping they will loosen up in this area once I break them in. The soles are VERY comfortable - like walking on a a cloud, but still seem suppotive.

I have arthritis in my big toe and needed a stiff soled shoe. These were recommended by my podiatrist. Love these shoes, the most comfortable athletic shoes I've ever had. Worth the money. Couldn't give it 5 stars because one of the tiny straps that holds the shoelace tore after a couple of weeks. I just cut it off and it's not noticeable. My husband bought a pair a week later.

I run trails mostly plus a few miles of pavement to get to the trails. I use them for longer runs 15 - 30 miles. I like the wide widths. I got these because I tried the Challenger 6 and they felt awful.

I bought the Challenger ATR 5 and the Gortex hiking boot together. I wore the hiking boot for about a week to work for ankle support and it worked. My heal pain was gone so I started wearing the Challenger to work and my heal pain is still gone. I've been dealing with this for about 5 years and this combination of shoes as well as wearing the recovery slides at home seems to be providing relief. I wear these shoes with Dr. Scholls plantar fasciitis insoles too. I've bought Kurus,Oofos, New Balance and Brooks and these worked. I wore the Bondi 6 and 7s and didn't get any relief but they were still the better option. The 4 stars is because I feel Hoka shoes are ugly. Lol. I hate paying hundreds of dollars for shoes I don't like cosmetically but my feet are glad I did.

These shoes are light, well cushioned and the cushioning is responsive, can easily be used on the road or trails. Your feet may sit a little higher off the ground compared to other trail shoes. They come in wide which is awesome for toe box room.
The traction is not aggressive, which is great. I don't run in the mud, and lets face it, no need to have aggressive tread in dry conditions. Yes, I use these in loose dirt and sand without any problems. Very fast on dry trails, which is 80% of the trails.
This is my go-to shoe.
Why 4 stars (instead of 5)? Only because the out-sides of the shoe collar rub against my ankle bone. It may be that my ankle bone sits lower than other people, but I have not experienced this problem with other shoes. Not a big deal though, because I took them to a shoe repair shop and they trimmed them down to fit under my ankle bone...easy fix.

I bought the shoe mainly for walking/hiking purposes. Got 0.5 size up . Traction is good but I feel like I don't know if I'm ok with feeling the ground more. It's a bit uncomfortable to my feet. I used it twice already and I think it's good but not sure about the over all comfort. I would like to see if it'd get better the more I use it.

Nice to my feet with the cushion. They don't feel like they would be suitable for more than short, light hikes. At first I bought the size 8 as recommended, but it was too big. The 7.5 is better, still they are roomy. I'm not going to go down to a 7 though.

Very comfortable and will accommodate a very bulky sock to accommodate that slightly larger size. Great cushion, good grip.

I was looking for a replacement for the Speedgoat 3 which I loved but not the new tongue on the 4s. I liked the idea of the all terrain since home trails are a mix of dirt, gravel and pavement. The shoe has nice cushion but not a lot, not as much as speedgoat. My only complaint is the shoe tread gets filled with rocks from the trail. It doesn't bother me on the trail (unless its a really big rock) but when I transition back to the road I have to stop and pick all the rocks out. So annoying! I have a 100 miles on the shoes now and they are my go to for non-technical trails.

In this time of social distancing & limited social activities I've been trying to at least get 10,000 steps in / day. Very happy with how light they feel & the grip/ support I need to walk on tracks, track & walkways around town.
