Felt like half size larger than last glycerin 16 but still feels good. The material is soft and comfy. Good support in gym classes. Love the light purple color. My fave is pink, would like a pink pair! My feet tend to roll outward and these shoes are good for that.

After reading some of the other reviews here, I had to chime in with my experience. I have a bone deformity in the front of my foot. Without shoes on, I can't walk ten feet without being in extreme pain - so much so that I have to wear shoes (sandals) even in the shower. I also suffer with plantar fasciitis so any shoes I wear have to be exceptionally padded and comfortable. These fit the bill 100%. Normally I wear Altra's due to their wide width and support. I buy the most cushioned shoe they offer and it's still not as comfortable as the Glycerin 17. The moment you put them on..it's heaven for your feet! Like walking on a cloud! My plantar fasciitis pain nearly disappears - even after being on my feet for hours. These have a very soft lining so no socks are necessary. I read reviews elsewhere on the previous version (16) and all roads led here. The consensus was that the 17 was a far better shoe. I wear a size 8.5 in athletic shoes but followed the recommendation of others and went a half size up to a 9 (wide). The fit was perfect. When my color is back in stock, I'll be buying more. Don't hesitate!!

I have always been a fan of brooks. They give the most cushy-est ride! I went to a running shoe store and they told me they had to order them and it would be a week. Ordered on Zappos and got the next day!!! It took about 1/2 day to break them in but OMG my feet are in heaven ! Feels like there are clouds in my shoes. I wore them on vacation- walked for several hrs in the city streets of Texas. No complaints. Im glad I got them just in time for my upcoming 5k this weekend. I am prepared!

Normally, I wear a size 8 in shoes, but always have to order a 8 1/2 in athletic shoes -- have no idea why, but it's not just these. I LOVE these shoes. I especially love the colors of the Black/Coral/Purple -- very striking and noticeable, and much brighter than I expected. These are my second pair of Brooks Glycerin. I used to always wear ASICS. I still like ACISS, but Brooks has wormed their way into my heart. These shoes are extremely lightweight and flexible -- perhaps too much for some people. But I like the fit and feel. I had plantar fasciitis for 15+ years (but no more!), so I am careful about support. So far, I haven't even felt the need to add inserts, although I probably will soon just out of habit. I'm very satisfied with this purchase.

I love Brooks and I love their Glycerin and Ghost shoes. These are SO comfy right out of the box. Sizing up is probably a good idea. My feet are a solid size 5 in all shoes and I normally go to a 5.5 in athletic shoes but I had to go up to a size 6 in these to get good toe clearance. The styling on these is pretty cool though I do wish they would offer less "feminine" colors (I'm always drawn to the mens shoe colors).

Wow. These arrived this afternoon and feel like they've been customized for my feet. Cushiony and just about the most comfortable sneakers I've ever tried on, though I'll keep testing them over the next few days as I have nerve damage in one foot. I wear a custom orthotic so cannot speak to the arch support without that. They are size 11.5 M, which is what I wear in my Asics, and they seem true to size in both length and width. The toe box is nice and wide. The white-with-copper is a gray white that looks terrific even with darker leggings, and I've also just ordered the gray ones. I've previously worn Asics Cumulus 18s (but the 20s were too short), and am currently in Asics Gel-Nimbus 20s.

These FIT -- truly!!!! Good job, Brooks. Love, love, love these!

The fit is perfect! I did question getting the Brooks Glycerine 17 because several reviews talked about this shoe being good for people with high arches and needing that support. I thought the arch inserts might not fit correctly but they fit perfectly and true to size. It is like walking on a springy cloud! Exceptional shoes. I have been wearing the Brooks Adrenaline and do love that shoe but did not love any of the current color combinations so I decided to try these. I love them more than the Adrenalines.

Brooks has done it once again with the glycerin! This is an awesome shoe! I have owned the past two versions of the glycerin and this one does not disappoint! I have worn an 8 1/2 in every Brooks shoe. This one fits perfectly. The glycerin 16 was a teeny bit big on me. The heel cup isn’t quite as deep as I would like but I still give it an A++. It is perfectly cushioned and help ease my aching feet from plantar fasciitis. These are almost the only shoes I can wear. Keep it up Brooks! Y’all make the best shoes out there!

Love it! Nice looking running shoe and I love the support this shoe offers. I’ve recently been experiencing knee and hip pain while running and finally broke down and bought these. Made all the difference in the world! Although they are definitely more expensive than some other shoes, just do it. Your body will thank you!

Size was perfect - fit right out of the box and very comfortable. Did not feel like I had to break them in. Really like the grey, teal color too.

The Glycerin 17 is a great running/walking shoe. The sole provides comfort and balance while the upper provides good support, breathability and flexibility. The flexible material allows the toe box to feel roomy without being sloppy. The fit is true to size. I have been wearing Brooks running shoes for twenty years and the Glycerin 17 is sure to be one of my favorites!

I absolutely love the Brooks Glycerin 17. They are great for running and the gym. The sole is perfect for not slipping during aerobic and step class. They seem a bit shorter than my older Glycerins, but my inserts still fit fine. The new style is more like a sock, and they formed to my feet quickly. As always the quality of Brooks is definitely there!

These sneakers are AMAZING!!! They're lightweight and very comfortable. I tore a ligament in my foot about 1.5 years ago so my foot hasn't been the same since. I developed plantar fasciitis after my injury so I primarily live in sneakers. My foot feels safe and secure in these sneakers - more so than more of the other ones I've purchased. I HIGHLY recommend this brand and this style!

I really like this model of shoes--bought them before a half size smaller, and really liked the fit. But shoe store salespeople tell me I should buy 6 1/2, so I gave it a try, especially since I could not find a 6 wide, and because discount was significant. These slip at my heels, and didn't really make good contact with my extremely high arches. I added insoles (without removing the originals) and it seemed to help on one run, at least. Time will tell. . .

Brooks glycerine have always been my go to shoe for running and working out. For the last year I have not been running due to a plantar fasciitis in my right foot. I still work out in these shoes and have slowly been building back up to running. For me this shoe is fabulous for my Plantar fasciitis, My foot aches when I am not wearing them. These are an 8 on a scale from 1-10 and my other pair of shoes fro everyday use are New Balance 1080v I love them as well but they are my everyday shoe for work. I am a tech in a hospital on my feet all day for 12 hour shifts, they are a life saver for my feet.

Fits well. I’m hoping they break in. Right now the arch is Very obvious but hits my arch & foot wrong. ? so it kinda hurts after wearing it for a while. Which is actually why I bought it. Because of an upcoming Disney Trip. However, they’re a REALLY cute shoe!

I have spent the last month and a half trying to find a pair of Brooks shoes to replace my Ghost 10. For whatever the reason, Brooks has decided to modify their various models with each new version. What I have learned is that you cannot re-order the same model upgrade. The shoes are either tighter, have less arch support and, most important to me, a lot cushioning. I tried other brands and found them way more supportive and cushioned, but they felt wider than I wanted and my feet slipped around when walking my dog on grassy hills. Thanks to Zappo's incredible program of allowing customers to try their running shoes for up to 30 days and offering a complete refund/exchange, I was able to experience at least four pairs of shoes before deciding on the Glycerin 17. Am I completely satisfied, no. But to be honest, I don't feel I can keep sending worn shoes back to Zappo's. Yes, I do go to retail and try a bunch on and then order from Zappo's what feels the best. However, even this hasn't resulted in my perfect shoe since the Ghost 10 but at least one that will suffice for the time being. Zappo's, you have a customer for life and I am so sorry it took me so long before I finally kept a pair of shoes!! Your customer support rocks!

Been wearing Glycerin for years...PROS-best cushioning, not bad looking. CONS-these run small, laces are so long that even when you double knot they drag!, shoe fabric is stretchy to the point that it makes your foot feel less stable. Not my fave model, but will keep.

I normally wear (and still measure as) a size 7 1/2. I've worn Brooks Glycerins for years because they are perfect weight, padding and support for me. For the last several years I have had to get a bigger and bigger size. In the Glycerin 16 I needed a size 9! In the Glycerin 17 I could go back down a bit to a size 8 1/2. So it still runs small, but not quite as bad as the 16.. Once I find the right size Glycerins are always perfectly comfortable and supportive.

My first pair of Brooks. Very comfortable out of the box. Sometimes I feel like my ankles or feet are leaning in a bit. I thought I had a neutral gate and these are for that. Perhaps I need a pair for over pronation? Next pair. It will be a while before that though because these are not cheap. They are very cushy and usually if I bounce in place a little the feeling of tilting in goes away. I am not a runner but I do work on my feet all day and these shoes keep them happy.

I ordered a 9 1/2 narrow, my usual athletic shoe size, but I could fell my toes hitting the the front when I walked. It was a very well made comfortable shoe with good support otherwise.

Very comfortable and soft. I bought them half a size up to put my own orthopedic soles in, toe box is spacious.
