These shoes are true to size. However I was disappointed with the lack of arch support. The description said moderate arch support, but it’s more like low arch support. I will need to put arch supports in these shoes, so I hope they will still fit.

I used to love Brooks Glycerin. But since the Glycerin 14's I had to stop because I'm a 12 D, and they suddenly became a full 1/2 size too small, and there was nothing bigger. However, this pair seems to be almost as long as it used to be. The material feels a little cheap, though. I haven't worn them yet, so we'll see.

I have had several pairs of Brooks Glycerin and they have always lasted well. I walk out doors and kick box, cardio fight and do aerobics at a health center. The Glycerin 17 have a nice wide toe box for all the fast starting and stopping I do. The grip on the gym floor is just enough to be safe but I can still move my feet quickly. These shoe have a nice cushion foot bed and are support my high arches. I love the black with the touch of orange and purple. I am confident these shoes will last me quiet a while. My old pair will become my “new” yard work shoes.

I’ve used glycerins for YEARS. My podiatrist told me to continue, so I ordered new ones. I don’t know why they change the fit of the shoe w each model. My foot sits up much higher in these and they’re so small in a 9.5, the size I’ve always worn in glycerins. I’m a 9 in every other shoe. I can’t believe I’d need a 10!

I have worn the glycerin style before and was always a 7.5 in this shoe. Fit perfectly, but for some reason these did not fit the same. Seems as the toe box is much roomier and doesn’t feel snug on the foot which causes my foot to slide around. The Glycerin’s have always been a great shoe and I love the cushion but I just can’t make these work.

I really liked the appearance of this shoe in black iridescent. I ordered them in both 8.5M and 9M, hoping one of them would fit just right. I wear a medium width and although I have a narrow heel, have been able to get a fairly comfortable fit in Brooks Adrenaline and Brooks Ariel over the past several years. The Glycerin 17, however, was very loose in the heel regardless of how I tied the laces. Additionally, it did not seem to offer the same stability as the other styles. Sorry that I have to return both pairs.

I'm a 60 year old power walker averaging 5-6 miles per walk/day, have been wearing Brooks Ghost shoes for years. Decided I wanted more cushion in the fore foot area, so after tons of research I ordered the Glycerin 17. My usual size is a 9 in a Ghost 11, but I took a 9.5 in this shoe. I loved the style, and was excited to take them out for a walk. I was thrilled with the cushioning and feel of the shoe, but at about 4.5 miles, I developed sharp pain in my heel. I have had foot issues, but never in my heel. I barely was able to hobble home. My heel recovered the next day. I did not take the shoes for another walk, and am so thankful to Zappos for their super generous return policy!!! I'm back in Ghost 11s and have not had another episode of heel pain.

This was my first time purchasing Brooks sneakers. I have a high instep, high arch and wide feet so finding shoes that fit is a challenge. I’ve had good luck with New Balance sneakers but I was interested in trying other brands. I liked the way these sneakers looked so I decided to try them out. Overall I liked these sneakers. They were comfortable. There was plenty of toe room and good arch support. I am returning them because they were a little tight. Even though these sneakers didn’t work out I’m planning to try other sneakers from this brand.

I previously used glycerin 16 and LOVED it- I need a lot of support while running which it provided but when I ran with the 17s they immediately felt too light and cushioning wasn’t as good as 16. Pros- very lightweight and comfy but does not provide the same support as glycerin 16

I have liked the previous glycerin sneakers but had to return these because of lack of support. My hips started to hurts after wearing these for about a week. I believe it’s because the uppers are cloth only and my foot moved around too much.

Thought I would never say this BUT these shoes were too soft and plushy . I usually order a half size up in my running shoes size 9 but I Am usually an 8.5 . These were a too big I would order my regular size 8.5 if I were to buy these again . But I returned and ordered another pair of brooks 11! Heavenly

I was looking forward to liking this shoe but found it not really comfortable and so have returned them. I wear a 8-W but found this shoe to have a very cushy insole which took up a lot of room so with my orthotics, my foot did not sit down well in the floor of the shoe. Also, they were a bit short and not as roomy in the toe box as I like. I compared them to my New Balance 840v4 sneakers which are very comfortable and have a very roomy toe box.

I wanted so badly to like thes shoes, but they were a big disappointment. I have friends who have loving their Glycerins for a couple of years. The current model looks cheao & I was not at all impressed by the fit. They appear to be comfortable, but I felt life the material would stretch & break down. I want my feet to feel supported when I'm out walking. To me, the shoe felt like a bedroom slipper on a fairly sturdy base. Another review mentioned her foot slidding forward. I got that same feeling.

I’m not sure what the issue is with this shoe. I love Brooks shoes but didn’t feel supported behind the toe area. My toes and the front part of my foot would ache and cramp. The arch support and heel fit were great. I regrettably had to return these.

So frustrated. After 10 years of wearing glycerine they have just modified this design to much. Hurt my foot almost instantly on my run. I have solely worn Brooks for 14 years and converted my entire family to brooks. I'm the only consistent runner and have always been pleased with the quality, but have noticed big changes over the last few years. I usually end up with 2-3 pairs a year that I rotate. Now I have to find a completely new shoe for my needs. Took forever for me to find these. Not looking forward to this process.

The soles of these shoes are not stiff enough. Most good running shoes have a stiff sole from the heel to the ball of the foot and only bend from the ball of the foot to the toes. These soles are very bendable which caused my toes and ball of my foot to go numb and hurt, and the middle bottom of my foot to ache after abut 20 minutes of running. They fit perfectly so the toe box was not too narrow. Very comfortable to wear around but not to run in.

Very disappointed. I buy the Glycerin shoe every year. This version runs very small and the tongue is now attached on the sides and not as cushioned as in previous versions. I feel this version has lost the overall cushioning that Glycerin was known for in the past. Brooks lost me on this version.

I read a lot of reviews and had high hopes for these sneakers to be both fashionable and alleviate my heel pain. They are a huge disappointment. They not only run small, they have defects in the toe area where the material used to rubberize part of the front/stiffen it is all bunched up and bumpy, causing excrucaiting pain in an already scrunched foot. The last is also too short--a sadly common problem for women with larger sized feet where the manufacturer increases length but not proportionately the height. For a high priced brand like Brooks, I expected better. WIthin moments of squeezing in, I had multiple pressure points in front, on top, and at the heel. Since I ordered a size 12 (normally wear an 11 but many shoe companies are shrinking sizes), there isn't an option to order up but I wouldn't due to the defects in the toe area. AVOID.

Have used it for about 400 + miles. My only trustworthy when it comes to pull a half marathon. Loyal Glycerin fan from 13. However, Glycerin 14 and 16 did not live up to my expectation.
