I have bad feet and bunions. It's always a struggle finding comfortable footwear. These are the most comfortable sneakers I've ever owned!

This shoe is SO comfortable! I’ve been a loyal customer of the Brooks Ghost series, and I have the Glycerin a try because I liked the colors. I’m so glad I did!
The first thing I noticed is that the Glycerin is more “cushiony” than the Ghost, which felt great right out of the box, during my walks, and all day long. There was good cushioning under the ball of the toe area too - that’s an area I usually have trouble with, as many shoes seem to lack sufficient cushioning there.
Arch support: I wear insoles, but the Glycerin seems to have better arch support with the insoles than the Ghost does with the same insoles.
Width: The Glycerin felt just a bit narrower than the Ghost. I still had plenty of room in the toebox for my toes to stretch out completely without feeling cramped, so it isn’t an impediment to me, but if the Ghosts feel snug in the Medium width, you might want to order both a Medium & a Wide pair of Glycerins to see which fits better.
This shoe also feels comfortably breathable. (Oddly, not all athletic shoes are.)
Having not had a pair of these previously, I’m curious to see how they wear. I’ve only had them about a week. I hope they keep their cushiony & supportive feel!

These hit the sweet spot! I looked at other reviews and so ordered half size up in wide width. They ft perfect! They are described for the neutral striker which describes me. These deliver in that realm, too. Unlike some other shoes described as neutral (eg. Ghost 11), these actually allow my foot to flow forward smoothly. The ghost 11 caused my foot to supinate and made my knees hurt. The Brooks Glycerin 17 are comfortable, no knee aches, they are light weight, and my feet are happy!

Glycerin 17 is a very comfortable neutral fit, max cushion, good arch support. The last couple years I’ve sized up another 1/2 (was 10, now 10.5) because we noticed the cut ran smaller than before. Just wish it came in more colors, including all black.

They fit great! Cushion feels really good too. I did a comparison study of these with the Adrenaline, and the cushion in these was way better and it ended up feeling like I wasn't even wearing a shoe after a while. After my first run in them they still felt great, no issues whatsoever.

After trying on several shoes—including other Brooks’ models, these are by far the winner. I am a fairly active runner with a low arch and bunion, and these provide the most support. They feel like walking on clouds. The Brooks Adrenaline felt too high in the arch and the Ghost didn’t have the same amount of cushion that these provide.

I have had this shoe for a few weeks and they are really comfortable. I am not a runner so can't speak on that, but I do have high arches so I need support. These offer plenty of support and look good as well. My only reason for the 4 star on comfort was compared to my Hoka One One sneakers, these aren't quite as cushy, but they are still a great buy and probably for most people these are sufficient for support.

I've been wearing Brooks Glycerin for years now. I'm so disappointed that they changed the laces. Can't stand the new ones. And while it might sound silly, there it is.
I do love the color combo on this particular one.

I usually wear a 6.5 to 7 in Borns. In Brooks I am finding that my toe feels better in an 8. The 7.5 fits but I feel the top of the shoe on top of my toe. I have tried wide and normal width. Brooks told me they do not widen the the insole of the shoe for wider widths, they add more material on top. I found that these in an 8W started off feeling good but after a few wears my feet felt tired in them. When I was walking my foot felt like it was moving in the shoe too much. My heel was moving around also. I feel like the material in this shoe stretches quite a bit. Out of all of the Brooks this shoe has the most cushion under the forefoot if you are looking for that. I am still on the hunt for the Brooks that is right for me. I feel like the Ghost has too high of drop (12mm) and pushes me forward onto my big toe joint that hurts. The Glycerin has a slightly lower drop of 10mm so it was better. I need to try a size 8 normal width and see if it takes care of the sloppy feeling.

Fits very different from the Glycerin 16, I was a 8.5 in the 16 and a 9 in the 17. I liked it ok and if I were running super long distances it would probably be great, but I'm coming from running Nike Frees and doing short runs and track workouts so I didn't like how cushioned it was and how I couldn't move laterally very easily. The cushioning felt like too much at a point, and I was afraid long term it wouldn't be good for my knees. This is definitely for longer distances. I ended up returning and going with the Nike Epic React Flyknit for a better blend between a mileage shoe and something I can pick up the pace in. Glycerin did have very very good arch support though! Didn't need an insert.

I wore an 8 in the Glycerin 16W and loved those sneakers. However, the 17W size 8 are too short. (My toes hit the tip of the shoe, although width is fine.) So I ordered the 8.5W and the length is perfect but the width is a little wider than I need it. I could order a 8.5 regular but I’ll stick with the wide because summer is coming and my feet are bound to swell, plus even though Zappos makes returns and exchanges easy the process is still a hassle. Anyway, I love the style and hope I’m happy with the fit long-term. (My glycerin 16 lasted me more than a year.)

The shoe is great and I like it a lot. It does run a little smaller in length and width than I've experienced with other Brooks sneakers. In that regard they took a bit to break in but are now good. I buy a little bigger than I actually need bc the next size down is a little too small, but these just fit. If you run on the larger side of your size, they may not be for you. And if you need a true wide size, these will likely be too narrow.

The fit is ok, nowhere near as great as the 16. I’m a die hard Glycerin fan and have been wearing them since the 11. The 15s were good, the 16s were AMAZEBALLS and the 17s are really nothing too great. The laces feel like the cheapest things ever and come untied super easily. I had to stop twice the other day while running because they came undone. A double know feels like something I do for my kids, not my own shoes. The laces on the 16s were my favorite and I wish they hadn’t changed them.

I have purchased 3 other Brooks Glycerin. The Glycerin 17 in silver with aqua highlights is my favorite color combo. They usually are a little wild color combos. The comfort and support of this shoe overrides any complaints of looks. I will buy again and again.

I’ve never needed a wide width shoe, but I’m going to have to try one with this particular model. I normally wear a 10 in Brooks. Have already tried a 10 & 10.5 in regular width, but my big toe is rubbing on the side of the shoe. Toe box seems more narrow than my Ghost. I’m really hoping the wide width will fit me!

Ordered the Glycerin 17/black iridescent from Zappos because Brooks was out of my size. Zappos had it in stock, priced the same, fast and free shipping and honors the 30 day guarantee..Brooks has always said order a 1/2 size up, I do add in a pinnacle insert for my own comfort. They support your foot nicely, doesn’t make your foot hot. I love the color choices of this brand too. I would recommend. For reference I have a bunion, flat feet and work in the medical field,ie:standing most of they day!

My big toe on my right foot was broken badly when I was a child. I’ve had 3 surgeries on the joint, which helped for a while but unfortunately wasn’t a long-term fix. Surgeries ultimately leave scar tissue, which just means a vicious cycle of more pain and surgeries. The toe joint now is severely swollen with arthritis, has self-fused, and now there’s a bone spur is on top of the ball of my foot. It’s a mess, and it’s extraordinarily painful. But I’m unwilling to consider a joint replacement. I just keep walking...and these shoes are the only ones I can do that in. #beyondgrateful

These shoes felt great from day 1, no breaking in period required! I like them better than the glycerin16. They are cushy but not too much. I just ordered a second pair and getting some for my daughter too!

This is one of my few reviews; and I buy a lot on Zappos. These shoes are sooooooo comfortable. I run at least 3 miles a day, 4-5 days a week. I have a home gym that sees a lot of action as well. I have been through Nike’s (cheap), ascics (pretty good), adidas (cheap), and these Brooks are cushiony, durable, breathable, sturdy, versatile and in come cool colors. That’s pretty much what a girl needs in a good running shoe. P.S. I Bought a second shoe.

Great fit and support with awesome cushioning! I tried the launch (because they were on sale) but had to return them. They hurt my heels and the lateral part of my feet for days. I’ve worn glycerins for years and will stick with them in the future!
