Let me start by saying I did not use these shoes for running. For that specific purpose, I'm sure they're excellent. I used them to work out at the gym, and I did not like how unsupported the top felt. While doing the escalator I could feel my toes clasping the sole for dear life. Cushioning was excellent. Overall I felt that the knit was a little too loose for my needs.
The material felt amazing, and they look wonderful on. Also I want to add that I regularly have issues with shoes since my toenails point upwards a little bit. O had no issues with painful toenails.
Fantastic process with zappos! The return at the ups took me less than 30 seconds.

Been wearing Glycerins for 6 years. Very disappointed with these. Tops seem very flimsy. Don't not offer the same support for underpronation that they used to. They seem too wide. Keep having to tighten more and more till to front of the shoe is actually puckering. I think the fabric keeps stretching. Laces are cheap and don't stay tied, keep loosening. I'm returning these.

I was a longtime fan of the Launch until its 6+ versions were introduced, Since then have been trying different Brooks model without getting same level of performance satisfaction. My friend raves about the Glycerin so gave the 17 a try; ran 60 miles in one week to give it fair trial. If you have wider feet, these might be the ideal shoes for you: the toe box and heel area seem to be wider than other Brooks model, I have regular width feet but they were sliding around. It definitely delivers on the cushion if that's important to you. (Note: I'm a size 7 but wear an 8 for running shoes; the 7.5 in Gly17 were too tight in length)

I have to say first..why oh why do these manufacturers have to change their sneakers every year?? And if they do change, why not still allow people to special order the previous version? It's so frustrating when you have a lot of feet issues like I do. I have to agree with other reviewers in that I really liked the 16s, but the 17s were not a step forward at all. The plastic along the side of the foot gave support to the shoe, especially for narrow feet like mine. Without that, there really is no support along the sides. It also feels less cushioned on the heel - a big thing for me. I hate the new laces - harder to tie and keep in place. The Ghost went to these laces..but in the newest version, switched back. Hopefully in next year's Glycerin, they will bring back more support and better laces. I'm running out of options.

I LOVED glycerin 15 and was hoping for a similar cushy feel in the footbed and support for the midfoot. Instead, the weave of this shoe allows the foot to slide around too much in the forefoot (is it wider?) and, surprisingly, the cushioning didn’t absorb enough shock for my feet. Really disappointed that the shoe was changed to its detriment. Also not a fan of the hexagonal printing on shoe though fig color was nice. Wound up returning and fell in love instead with Brooks Adrenaline 19.

This style seems to run much narrower than the Ariel and ghost models. Disappointing, 3rd pair of athletic shoes I have ordered online this month, all Brooks. I need a wide toe area, that is not the case with these.

Do not like the fit of this new style glycerin compared to my older glycerin 14s. Not the same at all. I really dont like to leave negative reviews; also own a pr of the new ghost & not impressed w/those either. Inferior construction, fit, materials. So sorry brooks!

I so wish that every time the sneaker manufacturers changed a shoe, that they would keep the old one for special order. I have so many feet issues..I find a shoe that works, and a year later, it's changed again and doesn't work. Loved the 16, not so much the 17. Hate the laces, and they are not as supportive a shoe without the middle plastic making the shoe a bit firmer on the outside. My feet are very narrow and need that extra support.

I am a long time Brooks wearer and I wanted to love this shoe but unfortunately it didn't work for me. It was so comfortable from the minute I put it on but it just didn't have enough support when I was running.

I am a longtime Glycerin lover, and I wanted to love these too. I skipped the 16's, due to PF, so this was my first experience in the new Glycerin build. After 3 miles I hated them so much. My forefeet were numb, my PF, which is for all intents and purposes gone, was back. I can see how someone with the right foot might really love that inner sock thing, but I have wide feet and high arches and it was not for me. Thank goodness for the Zappos runlimited guarantee!

I have wider feet due to bunions. These shoes, even in the wide width, are too narrow. They do not have a wide toe box and while the fabric stretches a bit it is not enough to accommodate my feet. I went up a whole size and these shoes were still too tight. They also run short. For ladies with wide feet I recommend Brooks Ariel or Adrenaline. Both have a much wider toe box and offer great support.

I have been wearing Brooks Glycerin for at least 5 years and this new model is a huge disappointment. They come down too low in the heel and are too wide. They feel cheaper than the 16 and 15. Can’t believe something I thought tried and true has gone down in quality so much. Not worth $150.

Was so excited when my shoes arrived, but after 3 runs, by knee began to bother me. I'm really hoping it isn't associated with the shoes because they were super expensive..

Since the tongue is attached to the sides the fit was more snug and makes it not so easy to slip on and off. Returned and thinking about going back to Adrenaline or maybe half size up

Love the look and the support. These run a half size small - maybe that is a Brooks thing? I've never purchased them before. Very lightweight and cushiony.

Loved these shoes, however the right foot was very narrow compared to the left. The right foot was narrow to the point my toes were almost overlapping. I believe it was material issue. The material was different compared to the left.

Love the look of the solid grey Glycerin 17. However, it is narrow in the box toe compared to my Glycerin 13's, which I preferred for comfort.

I have had 4 pairs of glycerins. I loved the shoe, so I would keep getting the same style. After I got my most recent pair, I noticed that the shoe looked the same as my other pairs, but felt completely different. My new pair had no cushion and was extremely firm. I went on several runs with the shoes, and my joints, feet, and legs hurt and I felt as if I was running with bricks as my shoes. I knew the issue wasn't related to the shoes needing to be broken in because my other glycerins were good to go right away. I really wish Brooks didn't make this change in how the shoe is made. If they didn't, I would still be running in their shoe.

I own several pairs of women?s Brooks and for unknown reason the Glysiren give me a lower backache during the night. During the day all is great.

Just doesn't work with plantar faciitis, even with an PF insole. I have a mens transcend 5 that I have no issues with an insole.
I also hate the laces, even with double ties they come apart so i had to change them.
It was reasonably cushioned, but did not see that much better than an older ghost for the increased price. My first run was without the insole and I had no issues. Subsequent runs caused pretty significant fasciitis pain--overall my condition is pretty mild as I don't have long lasting pain.
