Fit was very tight and no wiggle room for toes. After buying glycerins for 4 years, I expected fit to be the same. It wasn't and I had to return the shoes. This glycerin 17 was more narrow than medium and the normal length size was tighter and cramped my toes.

I bought a pair of regular width and these" wide" size. I put one on each foot and could not tell the difference. Maybe there was a slight amount of room around the ankle, but I need a wider toe box. The regular width ones feel fine, but always wear out at the outside toe, so I thought I'd try "wide." Since I can't tell the difference, these are going back.

I absolutely loved the feel of these shoes as the toe box and comfort was on point. However, the sole started to wear after 25 miles of running and there was no way that they would last me over 150 miles so I returned them. I have never had a shoe wear down so quickly before! I have been wearing Brooks for 4 years and am disappointed in their durability lately. I need something that will last me through marathon training!

I've been a Glycerin truther for over 5 years. Bought at least one or two pairs a year. This year, I found the quality lacking and returned them for a pair of Ariels.

I loved my Glycerin 13's - comfy, great to run in. Since they are no longer made, I figured I'd give the 17's a try. I ordered a 7, the same size of my Glycerin 13s. On the left foot, it felt perfect and I was very excited, until I put on the right shoe. It was too small. I should have known that getting them in a bigger size would just mean it would I'd have the opposite problem. The right felt great, but the left felt very large. I so wanted them to work out. They are beautiful shoes. Maybe my feet have changed in the past couple of years, but I have not had this problem with other shoes that I have recently purchased where there is such a difference in fit between the two feet.

Yet another shoe manufacturer has decided to narrow the toe box, as well as make it shorter in height. After years of wearing Brooks, I can barely get my foot in this shoe. Wide should mean wide! Sending them back. Very disappointed. I have no idea what brand to try now. Asics and Saucony had already gone in this direction.

I can't review on the feel of the shoe, because I could barely get my foot in it. I ordered an 8 1/2, which I currently wear in Ghost 12s. My foot was sooo crammed. Immediately sending back.

Didn't find these to fit like cushion shoes usually do- felt more like a minimalist shoe with very little support or cushioning. Developed heel pain/foot pain after just a few short runs. Also, as much as I love the aesthetic of the matching laces, these ones didn't stay tied even with double knots.

these just aren't the same as my older pair or Glycerin shoes. Not as squishy, not as much arch support and boxy. Not worth the price tag.

Tread wore out very quickly. I only run a couple times a week. I don't wear the shoes any other time. They are 10 months old. I've run 10 half marathon in them this year and the tread is gone. I've never worn out another Brooks shoe. As far as fit, it has very wide and comfortable toebox. Good cushion to avoid knee pain.

Love the glitter, hate the fit. Im a diehard Glycerin fan...have bought them for many years (2010 - present) and loved the fit and comfort. The "17" is a half size bigger....I have always been an 8.5 and this 8.5 fits like a 9. Not happy. Toe box is also wider than in previous versions. Still comfortable for walking but now I get blisters when I run because of the wider size. Sad. Please bring back the old Glycerins!!

No consistency. I rated a 3 because some of the Glycerin 17s fit exactly as described. I ran three marathons in the ones above. However I've ordered two different black colored Glycerins and they were awful. One was sooo tight I thought I ordered the wrong size. The other hurt my feet so bad I had to return after three runs. I don't get it. Very frustrating.

Toe box in the regular width is generous which I need, length is half size too short. I love the color and look (5 stars for style) but there is almost no cushioning in the heel which made my heels, knees and back hurt after just walking for a few hours. Gave them 2 stars for comfort but I need more padding than most folks so perhaps these can work for those who can wear a more flat shoe. Overall low rating is because I expected more comfort for the price. There are plenty of stylish brands that lack comfort for 1/4th the price. As compared to my New Balance, I can walk for >10 miles in NB, no problem. Sadly I had to send these back. Grateful for Zappos trail period for running shoes!

Completely agree with the other customer re the eyelet holes not being reinforced... I thought it was just me! I had one rip after just 2 weeks of wearing them. I cut a hole in the side fabric to fix it. Then another hole, then another, and ANOTHER! I currently have 4 make shift holes because they eyelets have torn. Cheap construction. I love Brooks, so this was such a disappointment. I run about 8-10 mi every day and I buy these shoes almost monthly, but I think I will need to try something else, as this is the second time this has happened. Not what I would expect for a $150 shoe.

I have 2 pr of the Glycerin and I love them! Went to get new ones only to discover the shoe was completely remodeled and I was very unhappy with it after trying it on. The toe is not protected any longer and the mesh doesn't hold you foot in place! How would one run in it? My foot felt as if it would move around way too much. I need new ones but cannot find a Brooks sneaker that I can commit to. Going to try Hoka next.

This is not the same construction & fit as previous Glycerins going back 6 or 7 years. Not the same
support and shoe feels slightly narrow. I'm no longer a runner but walk approx 20 miles a week and need
a good support because I'm a "pounder". Will start a search for a different shoe.

I was hesitant on purchasing the shoe as it seems a lot of reviewers have commented the shoe runs a half size smaller. I purchase the shoe hoping my normal size would work in this line. For me it does indeed run a half size smaller. I do really like the design of the shoe and how comfortable the cushion is under my feet. I stand for 8 to 9 hours a day and the shoe definitely provided a lot of cushion throughout the day. I'm hoping going up the next half size will not make the shoe too large but will correct the width and the length of the shoe that my feet need to feel comfortable.

I've worn the Glycerin for 5 years. Last model I saw reviews saying they weren't the same but the 16s felt ok to me. I should have paid more attention to the reviews of the 17. I never write reviews, but these are so bad, I hope to save others from the same disappointment I have. I bought the same size I always do and they are terrible. The toe box is smaller or something. When I do heavy cardio, running or HIIT my toes get so painfully numb I had to switch back to my old shoes to workout until I can figure out a new shoe that works for me. PS, I've lost over 1100lbs and other shoes feel looser on me, so if anything I expected these might be a little big, instead they feel too small and I don't feel the same support at the front of the shoe as the back. I don't understand why they had to mess with a good thing.

Everyone convinced me that I needed Brooks running shoes. Unfortunately, I'm super disappointed in them. They are very soft & comfortable until about 2-3 miles in. At that point the inside toe area starts to rub my big toe raw all while the other shoe is rubbing my heel raw. I've never had blisters with any other shoes until these. Maybe I misfitted at the store....I don't know. But I certainly can't seem to get these shoes to cooperate with my feet.

So I've been wearing Brooks religiously for years. I'm a Brooks Pro, a Full-Time Personal Trainer, runner, power lifter, HIIT Coach, ect... I literally burn through a pair of shoes in 3 mos. I've relied on Glycerine for 3 years for Cardio/Studio work and running and work. I am an underpronator, with high arches and rather athletic/heavier build. When Brooks redesigned the 16s with the sock fit, they lost me there and again with the 17s. They are very soft and cushioned. Unparalleled cushioning here - what they are lacking is the lateral support they used to have. I can lace the 17s up, so tight that there is no space between the eyelets and my foot slides to the side every time I so much as take a step. They have gotten too wide for my feet.
Now, if you have a wide foot and flat feet, these are for you! :) I had to send mine back & switch to Asics. Please bring back those foot cages in these shoes and I'll buy again!

Oh Brooks, what have you done? First, I think the shoe itself is ugly, with all the mesh. Second, even in a wide width there are too narrow. I moved away from Asics a few years ago because they got too narrow, now you too? And my foot is not that wide. Other shoes I wear are a normal (B) width. I liked the extra cushioning in these but not worth $150 when they are ugly and narrow across the width. I have Fibromyalgia and my feet hurt if not enough arch support and/or are too tight along the outside edge. These sadly hurt. Bring back the wide toe box of the 15's!! I can't find any left in my size so I guess I start looking for a new Brand.

I really wanted to like these because of the great cusihioning and style, but with a neutral foot the arches were a tad too high and caused me knee pain. Returned them.
