My size 8.5 Medium width, high arch foot with wide toe splay and narrow heel, was slipping around a bit in this beautifully styled shoe. I loved the look of this shoe, and was wishing I could have worn them. They were otherwise comfortable, though not "pillows", they had a good amount of cushion.
I'd also recommend:
Asics, other Brooks, Keen, Dansko, Taos

I really like the shoe. It feels sort of like that "barefoot feel" with some cushion. I love the, Ebony/Wild Aster, color combo but HATE the WHITE SOLE. White sole color with a dark color shoe is so off to me. They just show dirt and don't go with the dark colors of the body of the shoe.

I have been wearing Glycerin by Brooks for years. My feet hurt a lot from being on them all day - between work, walks and exercise. They don't hurt when I'm wearing the Glycerin. This latest model and the Glycerin 16 have not been my favorites esthetically but I'm willing to adjust for the comfort they provide.

These are great, as usual. I would like to see a little more cushion in the forefoot but I’m no shoe designer— maybe that would cause too much stiffness? Otherwise they are true to size. Glycerin is the best!

I have worn Glycerins for years. When I try something else...I always end back with them! Nice cushion and support! Buy half size bigger than you normally wear.

I always order 1/2 size up in a running shoe, so the 9 fit my 8.5 foot great. Nice shoe. I’m glad I gave it a second try. I was faithful to Brooks for many years until I found Hoka. These are great for walks (not runs) and other exercises. Nice space in the toe box and if they weren’t such a funky color you could wear them for all day comfort.
I'd also recommend:

This is my second pair of brooks glycerin shoes. They are very comfortable and supportive. I would recommend them and encourage everyone to pick up a pair. Your feet will thank you!

Love the cushening in this shoe. They definitely rival the cushening in the other top shoe brand that uses gel. These are better. My only complaint is that the heel rise of the shoe feels much lower on my foot than it should be which I believe may be affecting the stability.

Usually wear an 8.5 in running shoes and these fit perfect. Did not feel wide in the toe, but the fabric does seem to have a little extra give to it. I’m a little worried that the inside heel area will develop holes, but I seem to have that problem with different brands as well. Overall, I am pleased.

I liked this shoe better than the Glycerin 16 because of the cushion and the color. The toe box was too roomy for my narrow foot.

I was unable to keep this shoe. The toe box was to tight. I have feet problems so this shoe might work for someone else.

I was disappointed in these. I loved the Glycerin 14's. Hated the 15's due to them narrowing the toebox. Loved the 16's but I needed new ones since I had worn them out. These 17's did not feel right at all. Felt almost too wide in the toebox but I think it was because the top of the end of the toe did not have any support like my 16's did. My foot also slipped in the heels. Just soft stretchy material. I also didn't feel they had as much cushioning as my other Glycerin's have had. So back they went. Ordered the 16's again and they are awesome!

I need a long, narrow running shoe (10.5AA) with good arch support as I supinate (under pronate). I wasn't crazy about the color but not many options so tried it. The color actually looks better in person. However, it was so short that my toes hit the end of the shoe just standing.

Loved them...but the heel on one shoe slides up and down and I’m afraid they will rub blisters so I had to return them. Super sad ?

Really comfy, but too short of a shoe. I am a size 6.5 and ordered a size 7. The shoes were tight when I got them, but I figured I just needed to break them in. I have been running in them and they are too short - my toes continuously slam in the top of the shoe and I now have a couple of black toenails due to repeated friction from my toes to the top of the shoe. I would recommend sizing up for sure. Other than that great shoe

I was disappointed that this shoe didn't fit right in the toe box. My toes were getting caught on the hard top of the upper toe box causing blisters and an altered stride. Won't buy these again.

I've walked with joy in Glycerin models for several years. Unfortunately, the design changed with 17 and there is either not as much room in the toe box or it slants down more than previous generations. The 17 pushes down on my big toenail and I had to return it. It appears 18 generation has basically the same toe box style. So now I have to find a new shoe to wear.

The Glycerin 17 were very comfortable but they are wearing out fast! I have not put very many miles on them and the tread is wearing out so much quicker than my previous model of the same shoe.

I absolutely love these shoes. I have had them for a month. I walk about 5 miles a day. Today I noticed the soles were very worn out like I had been wearing them for 6 months. They are still comfy but I'm upset how the soles have worn.

I didn't like the 17 at all. Not much of a support or cushion. I own the 16 and it got me through full Marathon without any discomfort. Yet, the 17 can't run over 10 miles and my ankles hurt. I might return them. Very disappointed.

The sneakers fit well and comfortably. The material allows for good airflow; therefore, my feet never feel sweaty. However, The main issue I am having is that the sneakers do not seem to provide the heel and arch support I was expecting. Due to these two situations, I have pain when I take off the sneakers.

I've been wearing Brooks Glycerin shoes for almost a decade at this pointthey've always provided great support and comfort for my wide, high-arched feetuntil now. As someone with high arches, I'm not a fan of the tongue being sewn to the shoe so tightly on all (3) sidesit adds pressure and discomfort to the tops of my feet. While it's gotten a little better with wear (I've had them now for about 4 months), when I put on my old Glycerin 15s, they're so much more comfortable since they are not designed in this way. Also one of the holes for the laces busted in month 3 on these 17s, the material is less durable (which I get with the mesh/softer materials).

I have used the ghost for several years. I run half marathons regularly and am training for more marathon and long distance run. I need extra cushion due to a femur break several years ago. I've found walking in this shoe in distances greater than 3 miles starts to hurt the ball of my foot and my heels. I got the glycerin in hopes it would provide better cushion for my knees but idk if it's worth how it's making my feet feel. I plan to try a couple more long runs and walks otherwise o will need to return them. I am hoping it's just breaking them in....
