Really disappointed in these. I have been wearing Hokas since 2014 and probably own 40 pairs. Only disliked the Clifton 2 until now. The shoe is lighter yes, but there is a seam at the top of the tongue inside the shoe that is driving me crazy and makes the shoe feel tighter atop my foot at the top of my toes. I'm returning them & getting the Clifton 4 again before they run out. Clifton 4 does not rub at the tongue seam. Very noticeable difference.

I have been wearing Clifton 4s for a year and they really helped my feet. I work long hours on my feet all day. Right out of the box I could feel there was virtually no bounce in the step at all, even my year old worn out shoes feel better. I dont understand why the newer version of a shoe would change so much in its function. I saw the company response to someone else saying they need to go to a Bondi or other style for cushioning, but the fit is also different style to style. Have ordered a leftover Clifton 4 and am a bit stressed that I will have to find a specialty store and be refitted to a new brand.

I have been a loyal fan of Hoka's for 5 years. Mostly the trail running shoe. Comfortable right out of the box. You can wear them all day long. This year I bought the Clifton out of loyalty even though it wasn't instant love on my feet. I also bought the Brook's Dyad 10 because they felt great in the store. I am getting foot pain when I run in the Hoka's but the Brook's are pure magic. I'm not sure what Hoka has changed but I don't see myself going back to them anything soon.

The 5s are narrower in the toe box. 1 long run and 1 big blister I've never gotten before are forcing me to get rid of these shoes. Let me know if a future version goes back to the width of the 4s.

The Clifton 5 in the alloy color fit as if they are a stability shoe. They hurt my arches and do not feel like the Clifton 5s I bought in other colors. Second pair in this color that I have returned.

Really loved the Clifton 4's- wore out several pair. Anticipated loving the new version 6, but after a week on concrete, the LEFT SHOE only caused extreme pain to the area just below pinkie toe -to outside arch. Several family and extended family members all had the SAME PAIN in the SAME SPOT after about a week. Design flaw? So bummed, exchanged for the ugly but faithful Bondi 6.

I loved the 3. Loved it. The 4 hurt my arch area as did the 5. Upper on the 4 was great but that's it. Soul unit.... no. Bring back the Clifton 3. I returned both the Clifton 4 and 5. I'll try again with the 6....

Unfortunately, the arch support is off in this shoe. i found the same issue with the Clifton 4. The Clifton 3 was perfect. Not sure why they decided to change a design that was working. Oh well.

In less than a year the bottom of the shoe has come apart. I’ve never had tread on a shoe separate before. I do not recommend.

This is a pretty and good quality shoe, and it fit well. However, the bottom isn't flat; the toe end is higher than the heel end. I do an aerobic workout that is multidirectional and involves jumping as well as running. I'm afraid the uneven level is, for me, a fall or a muscle strain waiting to happen. So they're going back.

I ordered a Clifton 5 Knit 9.5 1093756 ( order # 24433706), as a gift for Mother's Day for my wife. I received Clifton 5 1093758. Wanted to return the shoes but my wife was so disappointed she has decided to donate the shoes to someone in her running group. THANKS a lot!!

I've been running in the Clifton 4s for a while and they are the only running shoe that I have ever bought on repeat. The Clifton 5 feels wider at the upper mid foot zone - I think it's the less structured upper material. My foot just does not feel as snug in these and having your foot slide around in the shoe isn't a good thing. Back it goes. Luckily I snagged the last pair of the Clifton 4s in my size. I hope when they come out with the 6, they move away from this awful material and go back to an upper more closely based on the 4.

They are hard, no give on the bottom of the rubber. too stiff. and hard inside. so disappointed. I guess I need to stoop shopping here. I cannot find a sneaker that is comfortable. all the rubbers on the sneakers are stiff.

I have only been wearing them a week. I work in the medical field and was told these will be perfect. I had a lot of feet problems and since I got these my feet hurt worse than they ever have. My arch hurts like it's never hurt before. My heels and pinkie toes feel like someone ran over them. I've cried myself to sleep the last few nights. I kept wearing them hoping it would get better....nope worse.

I LOVED the early Cliftons (1-3). The 4s were just ok. This version is the worst. They feel stiff, lack responsiveness, and have zero energy return. Every time I run in them my legs feel heavy and my knees and hips start to hurt. By time I finish my run my legs are stiff and my feet hurt. I've been thinking that it was just me and my running but, after wearing these for a couple of months, running 20-25 miles a week, I finally have figured out that most of my problems stem from the shoes. Yes it took me a long time to figure it out, but Cliftons have always worked for me, so I just kept blaming myself. I'm like the other reviewerswhy were the original Cliftons ever changed? I would've been a customer for life but now I'm searching for something different. I can't figure out why you would mess with something that worked great for so many customers.

This was my first time ever trying Hoka running shoes. Extremely disappointed! After my first run my feet started to hurt. I then decided to wear them the whole day to make sure. Nope! Nothing change! Definitely returning them.

I run several miles per week and have always ran in the Clifton. This model is very stiff and does not have near the cushioning as the previous models. Also this shoe has worn down fast and did not last as long as the others. The shoe is more narrow as well. Please change back to the original cushioning that felt like running on clouds.

I am a forever HOKA wearer, but these Clifton's are not the shoe for my foot. I wanted a replacement for my loved Bondi 5s. My foot slides and rubs all over the place in this shoe. I want to try a different pair and send these back.
