I loved my Clifton 4's, but no longer available so had to go to Clifton 5. I prefer my 4's but I guess Clifton 5 is my only option. They fit well, look nice, I get compliments on them. Again, I feel the Clifton 4's gave me better support. Everytime I find something that really works for me, the company discontinues it or changes it.

Bought these because I was so happy with the Clifton 5 I got 1.5 years ago. Sizing was very different. Unfortunately, since I had a previous Clifton 5 (same style, same size) that fit great I didn't double check before taking these on vacation. Now I've got a used pair that don't fit well. BE SURE TO CHECK. NOT THE SAME AS PREVIOUS YEAR'S SIZING.

Almost great running shoe, BUT not sturdy materials--Bought these in November 2018--I have not run 100 miles in them--and the soles are showing wear--the tread is disappearing. I am very, very disappointed, because I love the way these shoes feel. I do not think they should wear out this fast.

I had heard great things about Hoka One One and was really excited to try them but unfortunately this model is a lot narrower than any other shoes I've ever bought. I've owned Nike, adidas, and brooks and never had any issues but these shoes rub the outside of my foot raw. The support is great and my arches feel amazing after my 12.5 hour shifts but the toe of the foot is so narrow I get blisters and it hurts too bad to wear them. I bought them on sale which means I can't return them and can't wear them.

The shoes are high quality and very light, but they are a little small for me.

The toe box was roomy. But the shoe is very stiff and hard. Not very comfortable.

Wonderful wide shoe and toebox. Started out with a 10w, 9 1/2w then 9w. 9w fit me perfectly. Usually wear a 10 in a running shoe .

I love the shoes because I have Morton's neuromas in both feet and Hokas are the only shoes that I can wear without too much pain. Part of the sole started to come off after three weeks! The only thing I can think is that sometimes I ride a kick scooter, but I mainly kick with the other foot, not the foot with the deconstructing sole.
I like that fact that wide means wide with Hokas.

1st pair too big. Re-order 1/2 size DOWN. Fit good, but the rocking motion this shoe gives bothered my left knee & so I had to return. Felt like my knee was being forced outward. Since both of my knees have been replaced, this is NOT a good thing. But the green/blue slate/canton is ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL. I just think the rocker motion forward is what messed with my gait. Otherwise, very nice shoe.

These fit like a glove and were so comfortable..except for the heel. There was a point on both sides that was putting pressure into the side of my heel. Not sure if that was for stability but my feet didn't like it for very long. I'm going to try the Bondi 6 from some recommendations I read online.

I tried both the regular and wide width, as I sometimes can fall in the middle. The regular seemed just a little tight in the toe box. The wide felt like an entirely larger shoe. Either way, my biggest complaint is where the arch support hit. It seemed to hit closer to my heel rather than where my arch actually is and that caused aching. The cushion seems fantastic, but with the narrow toe box and weird arch, I’ll be returning.

SOOO comfy but aggravated my ankle/foot problems. Had to take them off during a run and limp home with no shoes on. Gave them to my daughter and she loves them. Gave them a 3 because they are great shoes - just the wrong ones for me!

It's always so sad when a brand takes a model that was perfect and changes it. I needed to replace my Clifton 3's, and hoped that I could just order the current Clifton 5 and be done... but alas, Hoka One One decided that a narrower toe was a good idea, and these just don't fit the same. I don't usually wear a wide, because I have a narrow heel, and the heel in these is just fine - but I guess I'd need a wide toe. Back to the drawing board to find what model has the rocker sole but a wider toe box.

I ordered a 11W in these because I’m new to the brand and I have bunions that require a roomy toe box . I wear a 10 in shoes. These were too large for me both in width and length so I ordered a 10.5 regular which fit much better. There was ultimately not enuff room in the toe box so I returned. I expected higher quality for a 130$ sneaker. but, my sister swears by these and she walks 5+ miles a day. she has similar foot issues to me.

I tried the Clifton 5 recently. I am a heel striker and just transitioned from stability to neutral. This is working out great. I ordered these shoes a 1/2 size larger based on advice and they fit great. The cushion is very good. There is any noticeable energy "boost" but they are light and flexible which helps compensate. However, after only 8 miles, the outer sole on the heel edge of the left shoe is already worn smooth. Other rear foot areas show some wear as well. Therefore, I know these shoes will be good for maybe 100 miles if lucky. Any shoes at these price points must be durable! It almost feels fraudulent that the materials used on the outer sole is so cheap. Hoka is not the only company with this problem and it needs to be addressed. Built in obsolescence at low mileage is not the way to go in my opinion. Have not been able to contact Hoka and the server for their reviews was not working for a while. These would be great shoes for me if it weren't for the heel durability issue.

Well, there were things about this shoe I really liked, I liked the color, I got the black with white bottom. I liked the way they felt walking around the house, they seemed supportive enough, although I could tell I was going to put my arch support in them so they'd be more supportive. But I couldn't keep them. They seemed a bit narrow. I noticed a pressure on the inside, bottom of my arch each time I took a step. Wasn't awful, yet I could tell if I wore them long term or for a long walk, I could see how they'd continuously rub and make my foot sore. I've never felt that in a shoe before. In taking a closer look inside, they seem super narrow compared to other shoes I own. I have kinda wide feet in the toe, but nowhere else, I never needed a wide before. So was surprised they were narrow, yet my toes had plenty of room, and the toe area is usually the issue. So...I returned them and ordered the Bondi 6 and got a wide, just to be sure. Really hoping they fit. I wear Brooks but have wanted to try these Hoka, based on what I've read about them.

The Clifton 5 are more firm than their predecessors and the upper changed. I have owned them for about 6 months and have enjoyed them for the most part. They are quick and comfortable although I miss the cushion from previous versions. I don't run a ton of miles (probably about 40 a week) and otherwise just walk in them and the upper is already tearing on the inside and outside of both shoes. I am disappointed that these haven't lasted longer when my previous pairs are still in fine shape. Still good shoes but need to go to a different style because I don't trust that another pair will last longer.

I was in love with the cushion, and as a middle aged runner who struggles with pain in the bottoms of my feet, these were great! Only problem was I developed pinching of callouses on the insides of the balls of my feet and big toes...worse on the right, therefore a blister started to occur and I was unable to run with this. I was incredibly sad to have to say goodbye to these cushion gems :-(

These shoes are wonderful, except they squeek with every step, so I have returned them for a new pair hoping that the new ones will be quiet.

These shoes were hard to get used to. I wore them around the house for 2 days, but just couldn’t get used to the different style. I’m going back to Brooks.

I found these shoes to be a bit narrow in the mid foot. After communicating with HOKA and trying the shoes for walking and running, I've decided to exchange them for the Bondi 6. HOKA says the Bondi is a bit wider, so hopefully they will work. I loved the cushion, but the shoe overall did not feel right. Just sent the Clifton's back today.

I, too, am a die hard fan of the Clifton 3. I read Hokas response to a review that Bondi and Elevon are comparable to the 3 for cushioning. I've run in both and not even close! I just came out of a 4 and into the 5 and so far I'm not so thrilled with the cushioning. Hate to say it, nothing compares to the 3. I feel like I'm on a never ending search for that elusive cushioning
