So these boots overall have been great. They fit well, breath fairly well for a GTX boot and are incredibly stable. I have loved hiking and hunting in them. I have done well over 300 miles of hiking so far throughout WA, ID and Alaska. My greatest concern is in the waterproofness. As others have mentioned they really do leak a little bit. I first noticed mine after about 1 week of hunting. Walking through tall wet under brush would definitely leave me with wet feet, and because the boots are GTX they can take a while to really dry out. I have been using small gaiters which have really helped with that issue, but would prefer not to have to use them. So the boot fit, weight and stability are amazing and second to none in this category. However, the water leaking issue makes me slightly undecided about a repurchase or not. If Salomon has addressed this issue then without a doubt I will buy another pair.

I bought a pair of these in September 19 while in Canada, i do a lot of walking so wanted something comfy and light and that would keep my feet dry, these tick all the boxes, Unfortunately though, after about 5 months the toe protectors on both boots started to slightly come away which is the only reason i didn't give 5 stars

I bought these a little over two years ago and have used them in the Backcountry of Idaho for a lot of backpacking. They fit well, are very comfortable, and have never given me problems with terrain no matter what I threw at them! My only complaint is that they have faded badly, and barely resemble the boots I originally purchased. I care for them the same way as other boots and they certainly show their age significantly worse. This isn't a huge deal, but it is worth mentioning, I definitely change them before going into places that is be comfortable wearing other boots into just because they look very ragged.

These boots offer unbelievable support for hiking. I just clocked approximately 10 miles in my new 4D 3 GTX boots over very rocky terrain. I am 65 and have Planter Fasciitis. These boots helped me go the distance with no problem! The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is because these boots are not 100% waterproof. Water will get in the sides, where the "mesh" and laces start.

The shoe is very well made. Excellent ankle stability. No worry of sprains, even with weak ankles. I would give a five star rating, except the shoe is a tiny bit too narrow. It is not terrible, but it is beginning to hurt the side of toes as it is a little too narrow. If the shoe had a slightly wider width, I would definitely purchase the shoe again. I am considering not purchasing again or going a size up, despite the length being more than adequate with the size I have. Definitely disappointed, but the shoe otherwise is great. I would trust it for full ankle stability without question. One other issue - the shoe is NOT waterproof. Great water resistance, but not waterproof. Only a true rain boot will provide full waterproofing. This is not a huge issue though, just a matter of mislabeling a product. The product is excellent, apart from the narrowness.

So far so good with these boots. They fit well and are comfortable out of the box. The toe-box in my opinion seems pretty roomy.
Complaints I have:
These will be very warm boots in hotter weather.
I question the lacing system. The 3rd and 4th eye hole should be the simple hook catch which would allow one to more easily adjust the lacing tension across the top of the foot. As currently designed the laces are threaded through all the eyelets from the 4th down and this makes it very difficult to tweak the lace tension. Upper three hooks are fantastic.

Bought first pair 5 years ago. At first they were for backpacking but I liked the fit so well I started wearing them casually and for work. After countless miles and abuse the only thing wearing out is separation at the toe cap. It is still minor and the boots are still waterproof. I was wading through a stream last weekend. I agree with one reviewer that the color choice is a bit odd--2 shades of green or black. A bit limited. I will be buying a new pair this spring.
Now my 1 complaint. The insoles are nonexistent, or at least not very effective. I have to add arch support and more cushioning. Feet hurt after 6 miles of trail and are numb after 13. I would like to see some engineering go into the insole technology like adjustable orthodics and gels. At the price point Solomon ought to address this. It gets expensive buying additional insoles on top of the boot cost.
But all things considered I will continue buying and wearing these boots and highly recommend them for any application.

Bought this boot recently. My only con at this point is it did require a few hours of wear for break in and a little stiff around the ankle. I would still recommend this boot. Will find out durability this summer.

These boots fit well are are really comfortable. They perform well on all terrain, with a nice firm sole that gives good impact protection as well as just enough flex too.
My only criticism is that they have poor lateral (sideways) grip on wet mud. With all the rain we have had in the UK in 2019/ 2020, I have put these boots to the test on horrible muddy trails. They really have no grip when on wet mud and walking sideways on a slope - you can easily slide and keep sliding!

These have been the best mid top hiking shoe I've owned. Comfortable and lightweight makes it a great choice for winter hikes and even those wet weather days at work.

Buongiorno,
sono molto contento dell'acquisto di queste calzature, le ho usate su terreni impervi ed anche nella neve.
Tengono molto bene il terreno e l'acqua, e sono sufficientemente confortevoli.

This is my second pair. They are very comfortable all day.
One criticism is the boot evenutually lets in water. After about 2 hours in heavy rain even with waterproof leggings stopping water from getting in to the boot from the top.

After the first week I got a s squeaking noise in my right boot as I walked on anything flat. Currently still trying to find the hold with glue in hopes to fill it.
But as for a hiking boots I am very happy. Very good ankle support and traction. I carry a 150lb vest for training and Solomon is the only footwear to keep up with me.

I love this line of boots, and I'm on my 5th pair, but the newest model (3 gtx) have a horrible squeak. Returned the last pair and then replacement does the same thing. I may need to find a different manufacturer now.

Great fit right out of the box. Really excellent hiking, support, protection. If like the other pairs I've had of the same boots, should last almost a year.
