I dont know what happened with these lugs but they started to tear up after about 2 miles of hiking use, i dont see why that would happen so quickly. Otherwise I love these boots the stability is good, the boots are stiff but flex just wear you need them, and they are super light.

I have been a Salomon customer for a long time. I love their footwear because I have a narrow foot and their shoes and boots always fit perfectly. I ordered my first pair of the Quest 4D for my birthday and when I got them the right boot squeaked super loud every time I took a step. Salomon sent me another pair and BOTH of these boots squeak. I would not recommend these unless you like to sound like a squeaky toy. I love Salomon but these have been a COMPLETE MISS. I so wanted these to work but I won't be able to wear these either.

These are not waterproof. Soaked feet even in wet grass

After two weeks of heavy use, you'd socks will be soaking wet simply from walking through wet grass! Don't buy Salomon.

Like the shoes and support, absolutely hate how they keep coming untied. Have wore out two pairs of Lowa's and can't ever remember having to re tie the shoe. These Quest: it is on a daily basis. We not buy again.

Wore for 2wk took to mtns got really bad blisters on front of legs just above ankle,raw meat in mtns NOT GOOD!!!!

I bought these to explore the UK with. They are extremely comfy however I am hugely disappointed that one of the boots let me down on a large scale this weekend hiking on Dartmoor.

Bonjour, Je me suis achet ces chaussures pour une randonne de quelques jours, je les avais au pralable faites mon pied, sur du plat. Elles sont soit disant faites pour des grandes randonnes, cependant voil l'tat de mes semelles seulement 7 jours aprs une utilisation sur une boucle du GR10 et GR11... Les crampons ont littralement disparu et une partie de la semelle c'est dtache. Je trouve cela inacceptable pour soit disant une paire de chaussures de grande randonne... Trs du de Salomon. surtout que ma compagne qui a fait le mme parcours avec ses chaussures LOWA a des semelles en parfait tat l'arrive. Je choisirai dsormais d'autres marques avec des semelles VIBRAN. PS: je reste la disposition du service client Salomon

I really like the comfortable fit of these boots. The toe box is roomy and the upper provides great ankle support. In fact, I like them so much, I've been willing to overlook the terrible lack of quality of the soles. I'm on my third pair this year, having purchased a pair last summer, replaced those in February and then replaced that pair in April, and then replaced that pair in July. That actually makes four pair but the first pair lasted for about 300 miles of hiking so I'm not counting those. The February pair lasted less than 100 miles! Admittedly I'm hard on boots and we were in rough rocky terrain but I've never, in decades of owning hiking boots seen such poor quality. The pictures are of the April pair, worthless after 2 months. The sole splits on the side and none of the glues I've tried prevent it from tearing away and continually splitting. Come on Salomon, get some quality material for the soles to match the overall quality of the rest of the boot. If this latest pair results in the same problem, I will find a less comfortable fit that lasts.

I have had these boots for a little over a year and must admit they are the most comfortable boots I own but unfortunately the sole is separating on both of them and they are no longer water proof. For the money, they should last longer.

I bought this product 3 months ago and did not last very long. The sole on the Salomon 4D is failing. The boot is very comfortable but it does have the defect.
