When i first bought these boots i thought i had found the perfect boot, they were very comfortable straight out of the box, were very well made and not too heavy. Until recently i was very happy, that was until we started getting some wet weather. The wet grip on these boots is very poor, bordering on dangerous if you are on the mountains in the Lake District, they loose grip very easily, even on the flat they don't have much grip.
I thought it might just be me so i asked my boss at work who bought a pair about the same time as me, and he agreed with me, he said they were terrible in the wet and is just going to use them as a summer boot. I also spoke to an assistant in Go Outdoors where i bought them from and they said they had had quite a few people say the wet grip was poor as well.
I tested them against a pair of Meindl Kapstadt's that have a Vibram sole on and the difference was like night and day, the Vibram soles stuck like glue as Vibram soles always do. I have never had a bad Vibram sole.
So overall i am now very disappointed with these boots, if Salomon could make this boot with a Vibram sole i think they would have the perfect hiking boot.

I purchased these boots thinking they would be great like the reviews I read, but was sorely disappointed. The boots for the price point are not what I envisioned a product from Salomon to be. After approximately 3-4 weeks the rubber toe cap on both boots began to separate from the leather. I have submitted a warranty claim and will be interested to see how they rectify the situation. The one positive attribute I can say is that they are a comfortable boot once broken in.

leaving it's unnacceptable durability aside, these are fantastic boots. Theu are very comfortable and have fantastic grip. I used them for three days in the city before the sole split so badely it exposed the gortex lining. After one mediocre hike I noticed the heel of the shoe began to slip apart as well. These boots started leaking water in the toe area about a month after the purchase. Absoloutely not worth the money. I would stick with some of salomans lower priced offerings or go with Danner, 5.11, or keen if you want durability in your product.

I've been using this boot for about a month now. Was great in the snow and melting snow. Also pretty comfortable. But after the first 3 weeks some of the rubber is already tearing and moisture is getting in. Haven't gone through any rough terrain, just snow/ice and water. This is my 4th different pair of Salomon's I've owned and loved them all. Little disappointed with the quality of these and as well as my last pair with similar quality issues in a short amount of time being worn

I bought this pair one month ago.
Used it on one trip in the mountains on trail.
Already showing wear and starting to fall apart.

Bought in October 2020 and worn once a week for country walking. Split has developed in material near toes after 8 months use and material starting to separate from seams. Not the quality I was expecting. Returning to shop for replacement. Willing to give another try but somewhat sceptical.

I've worn top end Salomon boots (3D / 4D GTX) for about 10 years, always going straight for Salomon rather than looking around so you could call me brand loyal.
I've always happily paid the price premium, knowing that the quality, fit and comfort would be spot on - until the latest pair....
WHAT ON EARTH HAVE YOU DONE TO THE QUEST BOOT ??
The fit is awful, stability has gone from being fab to absolutely rubbish, with pretty much zero feedback underfootand the boot comfort is nowhere near where it was (or should be). All in all they are unbelievably disappointing.
I'm not the only one who - scanning other reviews there's plenty of others who have found exactly the same.
In my view it's now very much a below average boot at a very premium price.

Always been able to buy the same size of boots from Salomon but these are to tight , hurt both feet instantly, will be straight back in the box for a return.
These were to be my 4th pair of Goretex boots by Salomon and the rest have been comfortable straight out of the box very disappointed

I bought these three months ago and they are already tearing from the top of the boots. I haven't even worn them the whole three months as I rotate with another boot.

No good!

Strong comfy boots but they leak in spite of a goretex lining. A shop assistant told me it's a design fault the metal bed above the sole is too wide and breaks the goretex. Nearly new condition but destined for the bin

I bought a pair of the Quest 4D 3 GTX late July 2019, the worked great for my fall hiking and hunting.
They were cleaned properly and stored safely for the winter, once spring hit I broke them out and went on some small hikes as well as went black bear hunting. I noticed the rubber starting to come off of the the toe box on the outside of my left boot. I had used them fairly regularly so I didn't think too much of it at this point.
I had used them for roughly 5 months (of mountain/foothills hiking) when on my left foot started to leak water where the rubber has peeled away.
I am very disappointed in these boots, I decided to spend some extra money for what I had hoped to be a good quality pair of boots to last me a number of seasons. This was my first pair of Salomon's and I think that unfortunately it is going to be my last.
For the cost of these boots I expected a lot more quality and longevity. I think that I will be transitioning into Lowa Camino's for my next boots.
I wrote this as a watch out for people and if you are going to spend this much on boots, spend the extra $50-$100 for something better.

Do not buy these unless you trust you can return them. There is a bonding issue that is VERY common on the inner foot rubber. This is not just a fluke issue. It's happened to every pair I've owned, and that's not even worn in conditions they were made for. If it weren't for this common problem I'd give them a 5 stars. For the price of these boots, it's unacceptable.

If someone like walks early morning on wet grass and have wet socks as soon as isn't possible in others shoes, than must buy it! Incredible.

I previously purchased Salomon hiking boots that were similar to this model in a size 13.5 and they fit perfectly. Size 13.5 is no longer available in this style of boot so I tried the 13 and was very disappointed. The toe plate is much narrower and a wide option is not available either so I can no longer purchase Salomon boots. I tried another model in a 14, but they were too big. I'm sure the quality is still great, but now I have to find another manufacturer that will meet my needs.

I have had 3 pairs of these boots that I loved! Last year I bought a new pair and for the first time I had problems. After a long backpack I lost both big toenails! The only difference from the previous boots is that these were a blue color. In comparing them to my old boots the toe box does seem smaller.
After several contact with Salomon support without a non-automated response I gave up. I'm still wondering is the design has been changed, or if there is a different design with this color.

I've owned multiple pairs of Salomon footwear with great success, however, this model is not working out. Unlike previous purchases I cannot seem to get this model to "break in" and perform as past models.

I have had the boots for 5 months. I wore them just 1 day per week on most weekends during the 5 months - so about 18 times. The boots are very comfortable and I probably walked about 150 miles in the boots. I have cleaned the boots regularly and used a waterproofing spray. The rubber rand is coming away on both boots where the boots flex on walking and they are not waterproof. Having been happy with previous Salomon boots I'm really disappointed with these especially after seeing all the good write ups for them. boots
