Received my boots on Monday hit the trails in the hill behind my house for a couple of 4 miles hikes then an 11 mile hike on that Saturday. These boots fit and feel even better than mine 2GTX. Can't wait to put them to the test In Nepal this year.

I bought these for hunting and wore them recently on a hunt two weeks ago and they were super comfortable, no break in needed and noticed a huge difference from what I was wearing before these. My feet felt great throughout the day and no soreness in the evening. My only regret was not buying these boots sooner. They seemed to hold up well to the rocky mountainous terrain in southern Arizona. Will know more after a few more hunts

So far I've taken the boots on two hikes, they have exceeded my expectations. The size 13 looks really big, however very light. I've crossed several streams and stay try. Highly recommend!

I bought these boots about a month ago and have not been disappointed. No break in required, comfortable right out of the box, foot stayed comfortable not too hot, or too cold. Went hiking in 2 feet of snow with no issues with water or overheating. Highly recommend these boots.

I have now over 350 miles of hiking and Sierra Nevada backpacking in my 3DX version of these excellent boots. They are tall, with plenty of ankle protection from scree, dirt, etc..., truly waterproof when hiking on wet trails or crossing shallow water and decently breathable in hot weather with a liner/merino sock combo. The sole holds up and dry traction is great. Wet traction on the older (now replaced) soles was only "okay". The rock liner or bruise protections are very good. The toe box is wide. Very nice for extended mileage and balance. The **sizing is small per U.S. standards**: go up a size at least. For example, I run in a 13 New Balance, but fit 14 in these Salomon and their running shoes.

Bought these on a Sunday and they were at my door on Wednesday (and I didn't choose expedited shipping) This is my first pair of Salomon's and I couldn't be happier! They are lightweight and out of the box comfortable. Excellent fit with plenty of wiggle room in the toe box. Haven't had the opportunity to test the waterproofness yet but, I'm sure they'll be just fine! Even though I live in Florida, they are not too warm whatsoever. Couldn't be more pleased! Thank you Salomon for this version of an already great boot!

I have a little over 100 miles on my Salomon boots now. Out of the box i put 20 miles on them and not 1 blister. A great pair of socks and these boots i can walk in 10 degree snow all day long without getting my feet cold or wet. Very comfortable, lightweight boots.

Ok so the quest 4D 3 GTX - I've read good about them and I tend to agree with sone of the bad. They're not the most durable but I trade that off with/ they are the most comfortable (without doubt), they're good at keeping the water out (Id looked after), they're sturdy under foot so you don't feel everyone one of those sharp rocks after a long hike and they're super grippy. I do a lot of hiking, (1500 miles a year or more) and the Quests will just about last a year and I'm looking for a new pair, but to be fair to them they'll have served me well and owe me nothing. One tip for Salomon, try and fix the glue adhesion around the rubber to, that's there only weak point

I have taken several hikes in these boots. The 1st hike I experienced a mild break in heal rub, but no issue on any other hikes. The soles are stiff and great going over rocks. The boot is very stabile and warm. I love the boot and would go 5 star, but grip is a little less than my old Merrell Chameleons. These things are great for winter hikes with snow shoes ,micro spikes or crampons.

I would argue you cannot find a better day hiking boot around. I've had 7 pairs of these. Clearly I really enjoy them. I wear them almost everyday and hike almost everyday. I've even used these hunting for elk. I probably use these more than most people so my boots only last me about 8 months. They are initially waterproof/resistant but after a month or so I wouldn't count on it. I would say for anyone who is a casual hiker you cannot go wrong. For someone who is a more aggressive, I would still say these are a great boot. They just might not last years. They do not have the traditional ankle support that a mountain boot would have but the trade off is their comfort and weight. I've really enjoyed them.

First off I love these boots on the trail. My wife took up trail running and so I hike a bit whike she runs. I usually take the old rocky bike paths down the mountain but I have a weak ankle. So I looked up solid boots with ankle support and these came up repeatedly. They work amazing and I even felt them keep my ankle from rolling at least once. So they perform outstanding, for me, on trails. However, when I am at work and wearing these boots I find they actually hurt my ankle when I have to be on the ground working. I try to only wear then when I know I will not gave projects around the store. This does however cost it a star in an otherwise flawless boot.

These are great boots, very comfortable, lightweight, waterproof, warranty and they look good. Only complaint is they don't last long in the Arizona desert and mountains. I get about 1 year use and then warranty them out.

After purchasing these 2 months ago, I have hiked a few 14ers, and gone hunting twice. The fit is great for me- average volume foot with a little wider toe box feel. Comfort has been above average with very little time needed to get used to the feel.

Used my warranty and was delighted that what I thought was a fair outcome. New boots and I've always enjoyed the Salomon product. Light enough to be agile but enough weight on it to feel protected up Munros.

I've had these boots for a couple of years. I am older(70's) and my wife got them for me for ankle support. They work great. I wear them for everything outside from cutting wood, walking the dog in the woods, shoveling snow. They are comfortable waterproof and give me the support I need. There are two things I have noticed though. After wearing them for a long time they get heavy. The other thing is the laces. While they are very story and appropriate for the boot, try like I may, invariably one of the laces comes undone while I'm working

Over the past many years I have owned many pairs of these. They have all been very comfortable and ready to go straight from the box. I normally have used them for work and casual hikes/walks in the woods. It started that I would replace them every 2 years stretching them to their limits before falling apart. Over the past few years I have gotten into some back country hikes of a week in length. This added to my normal work day these boots now only last me about year before I need to replace. As much as I like these boots, I feel I need to look for something that will stand up a bit longer when paying this price now.

These are the best boots I have ever put on my feet. I continue to buy them even with some issues i have with them. I am very hard on my boots. In a year I put on about 1300 miles on rock, concrete, ditches, running water, sewer pipes, rain, mud, and sometimes dog #&!P. The two issues I have had in 3.5 years is they seem to come apart at the hinge point behind the toe on the inside, and also develop a squeak in the sole when I walk on a hard surface. That is really loud and annoying. To be fair, Salomon Customer service has replaced all three pair I have sent in for warranty with just a few pictures and some videos of the squeak when walking. I will still continue to buy them because they are so comfortable. The customer service is why I will still buy their product. I will try a different type of shoe this time to make a comparison. :)

From other reviews I expected a little less for wear in. Pretty stiff but getting them worked in. May need to come up with lighter socks as they are very warm.
