This is the best hiking boot I have ever owned. I live in CO and take these on any substantial hike I go on. Stable, truly waterproof, well ventilated, and extremely light. 10/10 would suggest these to a friend.

Salomon boots are by far the most comfortable and well built boot I've ever set my foot in! I've gone through many name brand boots and put them to the test in the rugged AZ desert, Salomon boots have exceeded the results I've been looking for in a boot. This is my second pair of Salomon boots in the Quest style and have never been happier! My wife now owns a pair and my kids will be wearing the same boot this hunting season. Thank you Salomon for putting out one heck of a boot! It's clear your employees take pride in every boot they put together.

Just finished climbing Quandary Peak with these boots. Very comfortable and protective boots with a nice wide toe box. I have splashed through some water and they did fine but I have not really challenged the waterproofing yet.

I have a little over 30 miles on these boots and love to hike in them. The fit is great and they stay laced up nicely. A little warm for summer hiking, but tolerable.

I had these for a few months and they are great, just a bit on the expensive side though. They are far more comfortable than the 5.11 or Wolverine boots I have. All are similar in style, but the Salomon boots are far superior in comfort and durability so far.

I just recently started working as a shooting/hiking/paintball guide at a high end ranch resort in Montana and did hours of research on what footwear would be most suitable for my field. Boy did I nail this one. As the flagship boots for Salomon, these boots did more than surpass the hype. Clearly durable, wildly comfortable and performs better than I could have possibly imagined. Currently picking my girlfriend's brain on color ideas so I can surprise her with the women's model. If I was desperately searching for a negative I would say they are on the heavier side when it comes to weight, but that's me really searching for something negative to say. God bless America and these boots.

I bought this boot in hopes of saving a little money and finding a really comfortable boot for hunting the backcountry. This is it!

I am so happy with these boots! They are comfortable even after a full days hike, very supportive to the ankles, with a snug fit all round.

I worked in the woods and in natural resource mgt for over 30 years and recreate in wild and undeveloped places hiking, hunting and exploring. In my career what boots you were wearing was a major and serious topic of conversation and I've worn the gammet from Whites to Lowes to Merrills to Vasque ... all of them. My wife is a serious long distance hiker and suggested I try a pair of Solomons after she got some. Hands down, Solomons are unconditionally the most comfortable boots I have ever worn. And to top it off their customer service and backing of their product is the best I have ever encountered. While it is it true that everyones foot is different, Solomons are the best boot for my feet and the best I've ever worn.

The boots are supportive and comfortable. I bought these because I needed better support and a comfortable boot; these fit the bill!

This is my 3rd pair and I will continue to purchase these boots. As a survival instructor I lead students for off trail hiking/ backpacking in Western Maine through very tough terrain. The soft soles conform and don't slip as much on the moss covered rocks. The ankle support is outstanding and provides good stability when I miss step on a rock or can't see rocks due to brush and duff. A little pricey if not buying with pro deal but well worth it!

This is my 4th pair of Salomon's, the quality and comfort never get old. This is a stable yet flexible boot. Heavy duty quality but still light weight for a waterproof boot.

I am a member of the Kauai K9 Search and Rescue team and put these boots through some crazy tropical rainforest conditions. I've owned many different types of boots and these are the best boots I have ever owned. They take some time to break in but once they get broken in they are super comfortable. I have a weak ankle and roll it often. I am on my second pair and have never rolled my ankle wearing these boots. The ankle support is great. My only complaint is once they get stinky the smell never goes away.

My constant search for the perfect backpacking/hiking boot (for me) is complete! I have purchased and used many quality name brand footwear for rugged trail and backcountry trips, but to my feet they have all been found lacking. One brand may offer a wider toebox, another higher ankle support, another a comfortable footbed/sole and yet another good traction/stiction...but until the Salomon Quest 4D 3GTX, never all in one boot.
As other reviewers will attest..."right out of the box all day comfort." I experienced no break-in period, along with no blisters or hot spots on a 7 mile hike in Red Rock Canyon.
The Quest 4D 3GTX offered stout support but ample "trail feel," sure-footed traction thanks to Contra-grip and plenty of room in the toe box. The partial rubber rand and toe cover keeps rock stubs and scuffs at bay.
I have read comments from other reviewers of laces that won't stay tight nor tied, though I did not have that experience.
Looking forward to many an enjoyable and reliable mile with the Salomon Quest 4D 3GTX!

This is my second Quest 4d 3 GTX purchase. I purchased the first pair in my normal size. This worked well on flat ground but did not give my toes enough room to slide forward on a decline making them hit the inside. Otherwise, they offered great support and outstanding performance. The second pair was 1/2 size larger and perfect. I could not ask for more in a heavy duty hiking boot.
If you are looking for superior ankle support with sole comfort on rough terrain this is good option. There is a balance between the support and flexibility as I often am walking along sugar sand (fine white sand found on many Florida trails) and in need of a little give.
Additionally, I hike inFlorida and Maine in all seasons usually using the same type of Darn Tough wool socks. Central Florida, in the summer is like a sauna in the middle of an active volcano.
