The fit gets very loose after a couple of wears..At first the sneakers feel good then the 2nd or 3rd wear the fit not so good.. now I don't like how they feel at all...

Nice shoe. Have worn 574's for a long time. Always 10 1/2's. Unfortunately these and two others I ordered were short and squeezed my toes uncomfortably. I had to send them back. New Balance were great about the return. Just be aware that 574's seem to run a little shorter than years previously.

Upon inspection the shoes seemed to be fraying at the seams. They're nice enough, but the quality and durability is disappointing considering the price. 2/5.

I ordered wide and this show felt and looked narrower than medium sized shoes.

Bought 2 pairs of ml 574s size 11 D. Green/yellow and Blue/Tan/orange. The green/yellow I got from NB are really tight, where as the other fits perfectly. Almost felt pre-broken in they were so comfy off the bat. Hoping the green/yellow break in eventually and feel the same. Hard to wear them right now, with my other 574s fitting so well.

I purchased the 574 in 10 medium - same size I always order for New Balance. They were a Christmas present for myself and just now replacing my 995. Unfortunately these shoes are definitely smaller than the previous size 10 and I can barely get
My foot into them. I have to loosen all the shoe things and wear very thin socks. Would return them but have had them for more that 45 days. Be careful with the size and suggest ordering larger than typical. Also just read in another review they are not
Made in the US. Can't speak to the quality - hope it is equal to all my previous made in
The US NB shoes

I was happy the design when then came in but i'm disappointed that they already had marks on the shoes and I hadn't worn them already. They had black marks on the top of one of the shoes and I do not know how to get them out.

This pair (the orange version) and another pair of 574s I just returned were both narrow - narrower than the pair of 574s I ordered last summer (all in the same size - always ordered a half size up and was great), and am just breaking in now. And the two pairs I recently had to retire. Substantially so. Also, this pair arrived with a sort of arc to them, bending upward in the middle of the sole. Weird. Been wearing 574s for years. Thinking that may be coming to an end. Nice looking shoe though.

I've had my pair for awhile now. I have never had this happen to me in my 30 years of buying shoes. My left shoe fits and feels just fine but my right shoe dose not. I have checked the insole, I have tied the laces tighter. After wearing the right shoe it feels like it's eating my sock or I need to tighten the laces. I stopped wearing the shoes all together

Too narrow and too tight on the instep. The size was about 1/2 too short.

I've always liked New Balance sneakers because their 4E size fit my wide foot perfectly but they seem to be getting shorter and narrower. Don't know if my feet are getting longer and wider or it's the shoes.

I've purchased and worn New Balance shoes since the early 1980's. I've been disappointed in their off shore sizing so I ordered directly from New Balance for this pair. I thought because they offered sizing not typical with off shore manufacturing, I was getting a better fitting shoe. Not the case. The shoes were made in Asia. Small sizing. Bad fit.

For years, I wore 574 in size 11, width 2E. This latest iteration is not truly wide--the 2E and 4E soles appear to be the same width, and NB seems to now be adding extra "volume" to the uppers in lieu of supply truly wide soles. I've tried my regular size in 2E--way too narrow--as well as various 4E sizes. The 11 4E is exactly the same width as the 11 2E, and the only difference seems to be extra material added to the upper.
This is in addition to the declining quality of sole materials and general fabrication, as others have noted.
What a disappointment, and what an insult to their customer base.

In terms of fit, these shoes are not even remotely close to “true to size.” I wear 14 4E shoes, and these shoes are both way too narrow and not long enough. It’s very surprising given my New Balance trainers and other NB shoes I’ve purchased in the past fit well.

I've been wearing 574's for over 10 years and this is the first time i had to return them. The tongue is really uncomfortable on the top of my foot and the shoe just feels stiff. The overall quality of the shoe just feels cheaper than they used to be.

The shoes seemed smaller than I expected I would need a half size bigger but overall they just didn't seem very high quality the materials seem cheaper than my previous New Balance 996 (that I loved).

How does a shoe this popular fit this poorly? Narrower than most , and a cramped toe box makes you think you need to size up when you can’t (unless you like poor fitting shoes). And switching to their “wide” version (never had to do that before with any other shoe/brand) didn’t resolve toe box issues (though did fit better thru arch at least). Ordered multiples pairs and sizes, returned every last one.

New Balance can't get out of its own way. The 574 has been one of the few "classic" sneaker styles you can get for wide feet that are actually comfortable. Now, 2E is more or less narrow/medium, and 4E is medium/wide. I purchased an 11 2E (same size I've worn for years). The length was perfect, but my foot was hanging off the side--can't wear 'em.
I decided to try a 10.5 4E in classic gray because the 11 4E was sold out. Too short, and as narrow as the 11 2E I just bought!
I'd try an 11 4E, but it's sold out in every color, even the goofy ones.

I bought these in March and the soles are already wearing through the bottom. I should have a hole in them any day now. I'm hardly an extraordinarily active person and I've never ever had to replace sneakers in less than a year--often two years--let alone barely 6 months.
Guess New Balance is making them cheaper....
