The tongue of the shoe is just a flap of material with the side seams folded under that presses uncomfortably into the top of your feet.

I've owned many pairs of 574's over the years and have been a brand advocate because of this shoe. Sadly, they changed and ruined the iconic 574.
The tongue is the worst part. The comfortable puffy tongue is gone, replaced by one crafted from an uncomfortable material. It's too wide and the ones on my shoes have creased in an odd way on both sides of each tongue. It looks awful. They then slapped "Classic" on it, in truly ironic fashion.
They jacked with the shoe last too, specifically in the toe box. Again, making it less comfortable.
My final gripe is petty, but still worth noting. The"N" on the sides is now significantly larger, and frankly, it's garish.
When will businesses like this learn; don't mess with the classics!

I ordered my normal athletic shoes size which is 13 4E. These were not remotely 4E's as they were extremely narrow and tight. New Balance, in particular, and the shoe industry in general has completely lost their way. Sizing is ridiculously all over the map. I expect some differences but not this much. New Balance doesn't seem to care about customers with wide feet and high arches. Almost all of their offerings that I am familiar with have narrowed in the middle foot area and in the toe box. That's great if your foot comes to a sharp point at the end but that is not the way the typical foot is constructed unless of course you are an elf. Thankfully Zappos has an excellent return policy.

Beware! These aren't 574s like you know them. It took me a few days to notice so now I can't return them but they are too small (toes feel like they are jammed in the front).

This sneaker is not to bad looking and is a true fit. Tongue rubs on to of foot and I was really disappointed because my feet really are sore after wearing them all day. They are light weight and for some may be great for some but these are not for me and this is the reason I do not like buying sneakers online. So now I have a pair of sneakers that are useless after purchasing on 3/1/2018!

Blew out after 6 weeks, pretty average response after. Just won't be buying NB products again. There's no shortage of choice in the shoe game.

Big lie- not nearly wide enough to be 4E. Keep away.
