This is my 5th pair of these. First time I'm buying these colors and they are vivid and beautiful! Words cannot express how much I love these shoes. After a labral repair surgery in my hip, knee pain, and ankle instability I have finally found shoes that reduce pain. The shoes allow me to stand for hours at a time with no pain and plenty of stability. They are also very lightweight.
LOVE EM!

This is my fourth pair of Hoka One Ones. I wear them out and order another pair. The pair I had before my new ones I ordered in usual 9 1/2. Initially caused ankle blisters so I wore thinner socks. Wore them out and this time ordered 1/2 size larger. They are perfect! Perhaps Hoka’s are now running a bit smaller. This brand is the go to because of cushioning and bottom of shoe is not cut in so no pronation or supination.

I tried on just about every Hoka Zappos has in my colour and decided this is the right shoe for me. It's solidly structured - kind of stiff in a good way. The cushion is supportive and not as mushy as some of the other Hoka's. It's narrow through midline of foot and then nicely wide for the toe box. I was down to this shoe and the Hoka Stinson ATR 5 - this is shoe was super comfy with big wide box for my toes but my goodness it made me feel like Herman Munster! I love Zappos - I can try on every shoe in the comfort of my own home and simply/easily return the ones I don't want and keep the ones I do. I hope Zappos stays in business a loooong time:)

I have been trying and trying to find a great comfortable shoe that helps with my heel pain and plantar fasciitis. I wear an ankle brace on my right foot. These shoes have enough cushion, arch support, stability to make my feet not hurt by the end of the day. I highly recommend.

Bought this for a trip to Zion and Bryce Canyon. I have had issues with pain in my feet due to arthritis. These shoes were an absolute Godsend. Very comfy and really helped my pain level.

For the first time in my life, I have zero pain in the soles of my feet after 5+ miles of trail walking/hikes. I LOVE these shoes! The lord make it a bit difficult to get your foot into them, but it's worth the frustration (plus, you can always buy new laces). I have a narrow foot and my toes require a lot of room in the toe box; both are non-issues with this shoe. I am also surprised at the amount of lateral support this show provides in side-to-side movement. The cushion in the soles is outstanding! The shoe is also not nearly as heavy as it looks, but it's definitely for a neutral stride. Under and over pronators may want to try before you buy.

Fit and size are perfect. I usually wear a 9 sneaker and same or 8.5 in flats. I got the Med width and would say is on target - plenty of room. Currently I'm not running, just walking @ 8 mo pregnant but these I thought were worth the splurge $ for working out now and for getting back into shape. Excited to try them running and doing cross-fit type exercises in coming months. They did make my calves sore after the first walk as I wasn't used to the thick cushion vs 'regular' sneakers (saucony typically).

I literally put these shoes on and said "oh wow". They were that comfortable! I wore them around the house and on a few walks around my neighborhood and then took them on a busy 1.5 week vacation in Alaska. It was super rainy but these resisted the water reasonably well and dried quickly with newspaper stuffing. Super comfortable and stable on trails/walks in Anchorage, Talkeetna, and in Denali National Park. Love love love and will buy again (don't change them Hoka!). Also, if you have the chance to go to Alaska... Take it.. What an amazing place! :)

I mostly trail run in Point Reyes and these are great. The trails are dirt, pretty technical, but not overly so. I have had the ATR models for 3 generations and this is the best fitting yet. I just wish they held up a bit longer, but then they would probably be heavier.

I really like the color combination in this shoe. :-)
These shoes are very light and comfortable. My only complaint is that they come apart, tear during the 3rd month of use

These shoes are super comfy and feel very lightweight. They have a nice cushiony feel, preventing wear and tear of the feet, legs and knees. Love them.

I walk 2-3 miles/day for exercise. This is the mist comfortable walking shoe i've ever had. Wide toe box, great cushioning and arch support that keeps me from sliding forwards in the shoe even when walking downhill. Love them!

I've tried Hokas in the past but the heel was too sloppy. These are narrower, and I'm very happy now! (I am sorry for the folks who had previous versions of this shoe and don't like the changes -- I've been there and that's the worst.) These are my first running shoes since PI stopped making running shoes that don't leave my feet and knees aching after every run. The week I bought them, I ran 50 miles in them with no pain. I wore my Altras for a speed workout last night and all the aches and pains were back--not doing that again! I love the rocker motion, the foot shape, and the cushioning, and the stiffness and arch support provide just the right amount of support for me. Thank you, previous reviewers, for the warning on the stiff tongue--I am careful with the socks I wear as a result.

My wife liked this shoe so much that I bought her a second pair after she broke in her first Challengers. She likes the shoe for its superb comfort and lightness, and also especially because the color scheme was more subdued and hence to her liking. Great shoe!.

I stopped wearing Challengers in 2015 after they got too narrow I needed the toe box and blistered my toes to bleeding during ultras. I thought I'd give them another try after wearing the Machs and seeing that Hoka seems to have slightly widened the toe box.
They're SO much better now, and I've already been for several 4-6mi runs with no blister issues at all. I think they're wider overall than early Challengers, so folks with narrower feet will need to lace up pretty tightly, but it's worth it for the toe comfort.
The performance/feel is a great blend of protective (not harsh/jarring) yet responsive. I felt like I could push hard on flat sections with good energy return from the forefoot, and fly confidently downhill without jarring the ankles/knees. That's at 27wks pregnant at 20lbs over my normal running weight, so I know they'll feel even better in a few months. They give a fairly close-to-ground feeling, but are not so minimal that the rocks hurt your feet.
I'm yet to test them out over longer or more technical runs, but the outsoles look similar to what got me through two 100mi trail ultras in 2015, so I'm pretty sure they'll hold up in terms of comfort and handling the rocky stuff.
I feel like Hoka has listened to customer feedback and taken stock of what trail runners want, and I'm super happy with this newest Challenger.

These are my holy grail training/distance-racing shoes for multiple surfaces. These shoes are light and once broken in they continue to shape to your foot making them feel customized to your foot.
I would recommend wearing taller socks while breaking them in -the tongue of the shoe is a leathery material which did agitate the top of my foot the first time I wore them, but now causes zero issues.
I've truly enjoy this shoe! They are currently covered in winter salt, trail mud and victory (They won me an ultra and I came out with ZERO blisters.) HIGHLY RECOMMEND! :)
