I was looking for a shoe that would do pavement and trails and this one works well. It's a little stiffer than my other Hoka's and the sole doesn't seem as wide, more like a regular running shoe. I like them. I also like the styling a bit better, doesn't look as much like a giant old lady shoe.

These shoes do have great arch support and the bottoms can absorb long hours of standing and very fast paced walking with decent spring back. Working in the medical field on my legs and feet they do pretty well as they were killing me and I was desperate for something to help, the downside is there is literally zero padding in the tongue and collar. Zero padding across the entire topside of the shoe, it’s extremely thin. I found it pretty shocking such a well designed shoe on the bottom would be skimped out on the entire rest the shoe. Any well designed athletic shoe will have a padded tongue and collar especially a padded heel for snug fit stability and bilateral movement. There’s literally nothing there. I found my ankles getting sore from lack of support other than that nothing else caused pain in the shoe it was comfortable. I have been an avid cardio kick boxer and gym goer for years, seems searching for athletic sneakers that haven’t cheapened in one way or another is a daunting task especially at these prices. I’m always in search of strong forefoot cushioning, ASICS were my go to but they have gone cheap, saucony was my newest favorite for years they’ve gone completely 180 into a cheap mess. I wouldn’t recommend them for active sports, but decent for long hours of standing on your feet.

Not a fashion statement but I only run in HOKA’s. I always order a half size smaller because HOKA’s run large and wide. I choose to run in HOKA’s because of the thick comfortable sole. The sole does go flat after about 150 miles, I always replace once they start to feel flat.

I've been a loyal Hoka customer for quite some time and have loved their shoes. I've recommended them to friends and family who have also become fans. That said, the Challenger atr 4 is a huge disappointment. The quality has gone down while the price has not. There's no passing on the tongue or upper and the material feels cheap. I'm sorry to see Hoka beginning g to cut corners. Hopefully they'll get back on track or it's time to find myself a new favorite brand.

I love the comfort of these shoes! I have worn this brand and model for a couple of years, they fir me foot very true to the size I always wear. I have a torn hip labrum, for me, these Hoka's make walking more comfortable. I am returning this shoe, well exchanging for a different color. My monitor makes them appear blue but they are purple, which is not for me. Great shoe though.

Love the colors that are available! Had to return the first pair that I had ordered as they were too big. The pair that I ended up with are a half size smaller and are probably a tad big but I like the space I have in the toe box. These are very comfortable and I love the very cushiony feel on my feet. I let a friend try them on and she said it felt like she was walking on clouds! Looking forward to ordering another pair of Hoka One One’s!

I have used the Hoka One One Challenger ATR3 for 2 years. I live in the mountains of Park City Utah and clock no less than 10 miles a day hiking my dog. I tend to have problems with planter fasciitis and they have been amazingly comfortable! The top of both shoes have split or I would not have needed new ones. These seem comfortable but the verdict is still out on the higher top of the shoe as far as the tongue area being higher on my foot., which seems a little "rubby" on the skin when wearing low socks for warm days, also minor note the longer top makes my feet look bigger. Have not hiked with them yet but am sure they will great.

Does not have padded tongue as advertised or on former models. Also, for the exact same shoe, which I have previously worn, I had to re-order a size down, so mass production is creating size discrepancies. Hoka delivers more cushioning that other running and walking shoes, but it is sad to see quality declining. Also wish they would produce more neutral colored shoes -- better for travel.

These feel stiffer than the clifton’s. Also, the tongue isn’t padded and is uncomfortable against the top of my ankle. It did help to take the laces out of the top two holes. Still lightweight and cushioned, but returning because I like the feel of the clifton’s better.

So light and comfortable I can keep running without any foot, leg or knee pain. It's the best pair of running shoes I've ever owned and not looking back! Buying another pair!

Bought for my daughter. She has plantar fasciitis and her podiatrist recommended them. She loves them. Says the have the best support and are very comfortable. We bought two more pairs after she wore them for a couple of days. She uses them for long walks.

The shoes aren't fashionable but if you want to walk correctly and suffer from plantar fasciitis they are absolutely a must. I wear my pair everywhere I go.

I wear anywhere from 6.5 to 7.5 in shoes, depending on width. I always order a 7.0 in Hokas and they are perfect

I have a pair of Stinson ATR 5, Stinson ATR 4 and recently I bought a pair of Challenger ATR 4. I walk, hike, camp and work long hours on my feet. HOKA shoes have stopped my feet from hurting as well as less back and leg pain.
