Great look, very comfortable. New Balance is my only go to sneaker.

I purchased this for my dad in a size 11.5 2E. He already is thinking about buying another pair as a backup. he works in construction and is usually in boots alot and had a toe thats been bothering him. this show gives him enough cushion and stability for every day comfort. #TEAMNB

Let me tell you a story: On the same day I received these shoes, I also got a package of socks I'd ordered from a famous, long-respected, fruity underwear company. First I examined the shoes. They appeared of excellent quality; really well-made. Were they perfect? Both shoes 100% exactly alike? Well, no...one was a little rounder at the back of the heel than the other. Gee, it was almost as if it had been hand-made by a human being. I tried them on and they fit wonderfully. I did find the right insert had a little more arch support than was completely comfortable for me. Upon examining my right foot I realized it was swollen just in that place...so it was me, not the shoe. I was quite happy with these shoes. Then, I opened the socks, made by brand-name fruity company. The cotton was harsh; was it cotton or woven grasses from an arid savanna? Looking closer, I saw two socks--of different pairs--with pulls on them. I then had to clip six, count 'em, six little plastic tag thingies off them, one per pair, that were holding them together like the doors of Ft. Knox. Were they afraid shoplifters would hijack my order on the way? I tried one on. It was so tight, I almost couldn't get it off. Extra large, my left foot! No way. I sent the whole bunch back, with disgust that a fine company had sunk so low. The moral of this tale of two orders is this: New Balance values quality in the shoes it manufactures. It's the only brand I consider. Whether a specific pair of shoes is the right one for you is a very subjective issue. I can't tell you if this particular model will please you. I can tell you that it is well-made, exactly as described, and won't ever make you say, "A pity this company ain't what it used to be." No, New Balance just keeps on getting it right.

Mostly for walking and strolling, but I like the insole a lot.

The shoe width is great and it was comfortable from the minute I put them on.

I bought a second pair of these because I've never had shoes more comfortable from day 1. It helps that they are lightweight and breathable. I use them around the house and for working out at the gym. Might not use them on rough hikes, but I have other NB shoes for that which are waterproof and sturdy.

I purchased from NB because they are one f the few companies who offer wide widths and because of the quality of the product. Both very important, both delivered on. Don't hesitate buying NB

I do a great deal of walking and also being a teacher I and constantly on my feet so I needed a new sneaker not only for support but also ones that my orthotics fit well into. The New Balance 840's are perfect for all my needs.

Great for daily pandemic walks on hard and uneven surfaces

The fit is perfect and to size. Looks great and are as comfortable as the previous 840 that I purchased

I mostly walk in them, They fit very well with the exception of not being perfectly Wide enough for the X-wide i ordered. That said, they still fit true. They are my new go to for getting moving. Superior comfort and very stylish. I have not owned them long enough to review for long distance walking or running. But i would buy up a Half Size and still get the X-wide. The toe might be just a bit long, but that extra bit of width should really make a difference. Hope this helps you choose. These are excellent shoes and i love em.

This is my 5th pair of the 840v4. I wear custom insoles and walk 5-7 miles EVERY day. I wear an 11.5 4E shoe. A pair of the are very comfortable and last me about six months. I always buy a pair in advance so I have a pair ready when one wears out.

The 840 is a great shoe this is the 4th pair I've owned. The 850 shows why NB is the leader in running shoes.

I'm an avid walker, and was very glad to be able to replace my completely worn-out pair of 840v4s with a brand new pair. Maybe in 500 miles I'll be able to find these still in stock.

I buy these every year for my job at golf course. Lots of walking, very comfortable!

High quality and comfort with and a very good value

Bought these for my Dad with diabetic feet, they are Fabulous, they even improved his gait a smidge!
