I love these boots. I already had a black pair and bought the cognac for my daughter last Christmas. I had to have them too! Perfect comfortable boot for everyday wear.

This is my first pair of the new generation of Melissas. Pretty much the same as the previous, except no boot strap. I miss the boot strap for pulling the boots on, but it is easier to walk without them rubbing together. Calf size is perfect for me (not an extended size). Being 5'10" and size 11, I like the low heel.

Love these boots! Beautiful finish. They are a little hard (tight) to initially get on but I am anticipating they will break in and be perfect.

These are great boots! The only stiffness was putting them on right out of the box, then after 10 minutes of walking around inside I knew they were perfect. I wore them all day the first day and got a tiny blister on the back of my heel, but I'm sure that is because they are so new. The wider calf fits perfectly and they don't look like wide calf boots when they are on.

I originally ordered these boots in Redwood 7.5 and I felt like they were a perfect fit, though they were a tiny bit snug with jeans. I decided to try to extended version and that is definitely bigger throughout, not just in the shaft as some have stated. It's definitely also larger in the ankle and foot, so I ended up sizing down a half size. They were much better with jeans a little easier to get off. My one concern Is that the ankle is still kind of big in the extended version and I hope it doesn't end up getting that slouchy look. I love all of my Frye boots so I hope these hold up as well as the rest have. I'm probably going to order another pair in a different color!

The perfect black riding boot. Wardrobe staple. Wish I hadn’t waited so long to purchase. After wearing for a week would suggest sizing down 1/2 size- they stretch a bit.

I was specifically looking for a tall burgundy boot this year. I had a little trouble deciding between the wine and the redwood but I finally decided on the wine and they were exactly what I was looking for. I would describe the finish as burnished - not distressed, but not a single flat color, either. I absolutely love the look of these and they are surprisingly versatile. Unlike some/most reviewers, I have no trouble getting my feet into the boots or taking them off and on. The calf is more narrow than on some other boots I have, but not overly so. I am a between a 9 1/2 and a 10 and I have learned that the 10 fits me better in most Frye boots. I find nothing more uncomfortable than cramped toes, so I tend to size up when in doubt. It is easier to add an insert or a thicker sock than to make a too-tight boot fit! My all-time favorite Frye boot (so far, at least) is the Carson lug riding boot, but they don't make those any more so these will do nicely.

I have very athletic calves. First time I nearly pulled something trying to get them on...however, once on they fit perfectly. Walking around they were soooo comfortable, plenty of toe room and a slight slip in the heel (which is how boots should fit), but the calves were very snug. The leather is soft, supple and just beautiful. Very good quality and well-made boots. I've worn them once and they are easy to pull on now, and also easily pulled off. Leather has already stretched to the point of pure comfort, even in the calves. I wore them with tights the first time, leggings will come next and finally skinny jeans. The ankle is the most problematic area at the very beginning because it has to be that way. Don't worry people, they will stretch. Make sure they fit ONCE THEY ARE ON, and the rest will come with a few wearings. I wear a size 7 in shoes, but always order a half size up in boots and tennis shoes - more toe room is always nice. Size 7-1/2 in these boots give me plenty of toe space. I got the Slate color, which is exactly the same as the Smoke color, except slate is vintage/distressed a bit. They are so beautiful. My main area of concern is the slick soles. This will improve in time with scuffing of the leather bottoms, but beware, they are very slick! These boots are suitable for riding horses which require a slick-bottomed boot with a heel. If you're looking for a traction boot - keep looking - these are not what you'll want. Overall I gave them 5 stars because they are "boot perfection".

These boots are fabulous. They look great and are very well made.

I really liked these, but my instep is just too high for them to be comfortable, real tight to get foot in and going up a half size would only make my food slid around. If you don't have a high instep, you'll love these! They are very well made, which is not something I can say about most boots I encounter these days.

OMG FINALLY!!! Boots that fit my skinny calves and shorty legs. Most boots are way too tall (I'm 5'2) and very gappy around my legs. Thank you Frye for making boots that fit my legs like a glove. You can't go wrong with these if you have a petite build - PERFECTION in every way. Sizing note: I ordered both my regular size and .5 size smaller and my regular size was WAY too big.

I thought I would need to break these in, but they were incredibly comfortable right out of the box! I do not have traditionally “wide calves,” so I was surprised that the larger calf sizing worked ideally for me. I strongly encourage anyone to measure their calf and pay special attention to the specifications in the description. It makes a huge difference!

I resisted buying these boots, because they do cost a bit more than I had planned to spend. HOWEVER, after trying at least 10 other pairs of boots, I put these on my feet and they were truly a perfect fit. Like a glove. I have wide calves (15 1/2 "), so finding boots that fit is a real challenge. These boots are beautiful and I know I will enjoy them for years to come!

Great style, super high quality boot. Leather doesn’t bunch or sag like some user photos showed. Should wear with skinny jeans, not loose jeans.

I'm so happy with these boots. I bought the extended size and they fit like a dream. I don't usually spend this much on boots, but I know I will wear these a lot! They are so versatile...dresses, skirts, leggings, skinny jeans. These are my first Frye boots.

I got the wrong size, reordering in correct size. Beatiful boots, not to fancy but fancy enough for anything west of the Mississippi

I love these boots. I purchased the original style and wore them for 6 years until they pretty much feel apart (no fixing them). I wish the tabs on these were still on the exterior as opposed to the interior but they aside from that they are just as comfortable and beautiful. I love these boots so much and am looking forward to many years with them.
