This Frye boot was very hard to put on and is why I gave it such low stars. A zipper would have helped so one could get the boot on. It is made with a wonderful leather inside and out and I lover the color.

loved the look of these but they were so stiff and narrow that i couldn't get my foot into it. could've used a zipper.

I have other Frye boots and was so excited to get these. I opened the box and they looked amazing. Issue was I could not get my foot in them. It fit around my calf fine but slipping my foot in was impossible. So disappointed.

These are beautiful boots. I can't say anything about the fit and size, because there was no way I could get them on. The boots are so narrow at the ankle that I couldn't pull them over my feet. I wear a 7M and my legs are fairly slender; in other words, I don't see how an average person can possibly get into these boots. Very sad, as they are just what I was looking for.

I love these boots, and have them in brown. I ordered the same size and a 1/5 size bigger. I couldn't get my ankle in. I'm very disappointed. Sending them back today.

Cannot pull it on!!! I wear a NORMAL/REGULAR size 10. I could not pull these up.

These are beautiful boots, at least to look at. As to comfort or fit, I have no idea. There is no way I can get them on: my 7M foot simply won't get past the ankle and down into the boot. They would probably look terrific if I could get it on. But no way. The ankle section is simply too narrow to twist my foot through it. Who on earth designed this boot???

I usually wear 6.5M or 7M if the shoes run smaller. My feet are more narrow than normal and I ordered 7.5M since a lot of the reviews said that the pair runs smaller. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS. I could not put my feet into the boots with my socks on. I had to take off my socks and still needed to try super hard for my feet to fit in. I am even hesitant to exchange for a half size up since I still have a space in front of my toes with shoes being a full size up. There is no way that people with small ankles have extremely big foot. DO NOT BUY THIS UNLESS YOU ARE SURE THAT YOU HAVE NARROW FEET AND YOU ARE THAT DESPERATE TO WEAR SHOES THAT ARE ONE AND A HALF SIZE UP. I've never ever wore size 8 in my life, and I would have to if I decide to wear this one. If you are the type of person who can just keep wearing until it stretches, yeah go for it. I am so glad I ordered this item on Zappos since they arrived within 24 business hours so I still have time to return it and buy another pair before my upcoming trip.

As other reviewers have noted, this new version of the boot is way too small and not nearly as comfortable as the originals I purchased previously. I had to work really hard to get my foot in passed the heel portion of the boot, almost injuring myself. I love my old Frye Melissa Buttons but wanted a different color. Too bad these have to go back.

I can't say how these fit as I could not get them on. VERY disappointing after being so eager especially with these beautiful shades of slate and smoke only to not even be able to pull them on. (Which, perhaps would have felt less scary if they had boot pulls on the top sides? But, no they don't. Why?) And, for fear of if I should eventually be able to slide my slender ankle and foot down into them what if they didn't come off? Very sad, continuing to hunt for my next pair of perfect riding boots after my decades old beat up non brand of leather boots need to be retired. :( But they look beautiful and smell amazing of course, leather.

I've worn tall, rider boots for years and years, but never experienced this with any other boot I've owned. I purchased my first pair of the Frye brand boots recently. In fact, I just received them yesterday 8/1/18. I'm wearing them for the first time today 8/2/18, hoping that I could break them in. It was a bad mistake seeing that I commute to work by public transportation and do a lot of walking. When I initially tried them on, I couldn't even get my feet through but I didn't give up! I'm an accurately-sized size 6US in women's. After a few minutes of walking, it felt like my right foot was being sliced on the back of the heel. When I finally got the chance to check it at work, the back of my heel is bleeding and stained the inside of the leather of the boot and my black socks. Please see my ratings. I would Never purchase these boots at full price. The 5 star style is definitely NOT worth the 1 star comfort.
