These boots are beautiful. The leather is gorgeous and they are sleek and classy. I thought I had finally found my boot after trying on and returning several pairs! My issue is with the fit... I could fit my left leg into the boot, it was snug but fine. I couldn’t even begin to slip my right leg into the boot, my foot and ankle got stuck! I have never noticed my legs to be disproportionate, so I am blaming the fit on disproportionate boots.... too bad, they are pretty.

Boot looked nice enough in an average boot way. Calves are very wide! Toe is narrow enough but heel is so wide that foot continuously slips out and up almost like a flip flop slipper. The style is weird in the back where the dip is. It's not a cute dip because of how wide the calf is, it ends up looking like a deflating balloon.

Loved the color and style, and the boot felt great around my calf (which is hard to find). The toe area was cramped and narrow, though, and the heel area too wide so it was uncomfortable to walk in.

Nice looking boots but they are so narrow that I wasn't even able to get them on, and I have a very average size calf. I've never had this problem with boots before. So back they went to Zappos.

These are super hard to get on and off. I read other reviews that said they will stretch over time so I am optimistic they will become easier to get on/off. I am keeping for now since it's not boot weather (April) and I can't break them in. Zappos has a generous return policy so I've got til boot weather rolls around.

Pinches the ankles

I bought these in brown and they fit perfectly. I liked them so much that I ordered a second pair in black, but I can't even get my foot into it. The ankle/arch area are too small to get my foot into the boot. Not sure why the same size and model number fit so differently. I will return them.

I tried ordering a half size up since they were out of 8s, but they were too big, leading me to say they are true to size. When I put them on, I remember thinking the sole was way too hard and flat for comfort so I exchanged them for a different brand entirely. The leather however was really nice.

The boots are not the same size. One boot is too tight in the calf, and the other one is wide. The boots are not the same width in the calf. Both need to be normal width and not narrow or tight. One fit great (wider calf) and the other one is way to tight. Returning since not the same size boot for the calf width.

Alrighty. I have the Melissa boot and they are perfect. The Melissa II has a smaller fit in the calf. Hard to get on. But once on, the actual foot is HUGE! Such an odd fit.

I wish I hadn't worn these boots once because I'd return them. I tried them on a few times at home and my foot slid in easily. So I thought they'd work fine. But the other day with different socks, I could not get my foot passed the ankle. The boots are not designed with boot pulls so it's very difficult to pull them on when the ankle is so stiff and tough to get by. It was very frustrating. When I finally got them on I didn't want to take them off until I was in for the day, but the boot had pulled my sock down behind the back of my foot...leaving my heel bare. Forced to take them off, I just didn't have the time to get them back on. Being a mom on the go, these were a terrible choice because I can't throw my boots on in a jiffy. I wish I didn't veer from zippered boots and am unhappy with these. Aside from that, the quality is great, and the color looks like pictured.

The boots are beautiful, however, I had to return because I couldn’t get the left boot on. I tried with socks and bare feet but my heel would not slip into the show. Ver disappointed.

I love the style of the boot, the color, the soft leather. However, I must have a narrower heal than most people. My foot slipped up and down in the boot. I knew that it would cause blisters so I had to return it.

This is a beautiful boot, loved the color, moderately comfortable. I was all set to keep it until I tried walking around a bit. I felt it made walking very awkward. I was very clompy, for lack of a better word. Maybe that's a Frye thing, but it's a no go for me. Sadly, I'll be returning.

I liked everything about this boot except for how narrow the footbed was. I have very narrow feet but these were too narrow even for me. I have had other Frye boots much more comfortable than these. I have small calves and these fit great around the calves. I ended up sending these back and getting the Sam Edelman Womens Penny Leather Riding Boot Black which were much more comfortable and better priced.

I wanted to love these boots. They were tight getting up around my calves, which was fine, but the ankles were very roomy and I could tell in the future it would look slouchy instead of sleek..

I can’t answer about the size on the left foot because I could not get my foot in. The right slid in with no trouble. So, I ordered another pair and I got my left foot in (with struggle) and part of the insole was folded up and felt lumpy. I sent both pair back.

It is disappointing to say that the right boot is perfect in every way. The left boot will not go on my foot. My heel gets stuck right above where the heel should land! I have never had a problem like this. I have ordered another pair because I like them so much to see if they work. Maybe the left one is not made right or something? They appear to be the same size. We will see...

Fit: I wanted to love these boots, but I’m a 7.5 in everything, and the size 7 was too snug in the toes, and the 7.5 was almost an inch too big. Not sure if it’s the style of boots. Also I ordered the extended calf (my calf is 14”) and they looked awesome, leaving plenty of room for jeans or thick socks. Color: The size 7s arrived with almost no distressing whatsoever and the 7.5s looked like they once belonged to an old ranch hand. Needless to say each pair is unique! Overall- gorgeous boot! Would be awesome with the perfect fit.
