The Clifton 4 is nothing like the Clifton 3. I put many comfortable miles on my old Clifton 3's and I was hoping to get a similar shoe in the updated Clifton 4 but sadly, this was not the case. The new updated version has less cushion, less flexible, and too narrow. They went back.

Loved the Clifton 3 so much had purchased 3 pair. Went back to get another 2 pairs and to my surprise they made the toe box wider, which was fine, but then the angle from the pad of the foot to the toe and to the top of the shoe...very severe and the depth is very small. so sad they changed it...change it back please

I have PF and bought these upon recommendations from several people. There is a learning curve to wearing them. I am gradually working towards the goal of making them my everyday shoe. It's tough going right now. Hope it works out.

I loved this shoe at first. It was great for preparing for my half marathon. For whatever reason, after my 10K the shoes started irritating my arch. The arch support in the shoe is a no-go. It's best to bite the bullet and buy the Bondi. Your feet will thank you later

Really wanted to love this shoe, especially since I've been suffering from ball of foot pain/sesamoiditis, which these are supposed to be great at correcting. Unfortunately, with this shoe, offloading the forefoot means placing all of your weight on your heels, which caused me to develop severe plantar fasciitis pain after only a few days of wearing these around the house. I also had to order a wide for the toe box to fit, which left me with too much room around the heel. Would love to see this show remade with more padding around the collar to keep heels in place. I also tried the Gaviota, which was better in terms of weight placed on the heel, but still suffered from a wide heel/sloppy fit.

I am disappointed that this new version is not as cushiony as the Clifton 3 and also has a narrower toe box. I won’t buy this style in the future.

I bought these for my 12 year old Daughter. She is highly academic & does not play in sports. Just 7th grade physical education. The soles started coming apart after only 6 months & these are not the only shoes she wears. Like most all products these days.... the quality continues to decline while the prices continue to increase !! Most especially if they are made in a country other than the USA !!!! I don't mind paying a ridiculous sum of money for something if the quality is worthy of the price !!!! I am also Frustrated as a woman with large feet , like so many others, that cant find (Womens) shoes larger than an 11. In addition the shoes sizes seem to universally be downsizing as I used to be able to find bigger sizes in certain brands , however now the same sizes & even 2 sizes bigger are too small now !! I am not the only one I encountered that has noticed this. Please make bigger sizes for women in wides & length !!

Clifton 3 had more cushion and stability right out of the box. Still a great quality shoe just not for me who is on my feet 11 hours a day.

I have the clifton 3 and I love the feel of them so much I wanted another pair for the gym. I got these and they are not nearly as cushiony. Am returning to find something more comfy for my sore feet.

the toe box is to narrow for my wide foot even though I got the wide version. During long runs my toes would go numb and after I would have blisters on my big toes. Please bring back the Clifton 3!!!!

I don't get it; I finally bought a pair of Hoka to help with my plantar fasciitis. I was so excited and I have to admit, it felt like it was exacerbating it - it threw my gate off. Maybe there's a break-in period? Sad to say I'm returning them. And I wonder if anyone else has this issue; so many people love this shoe, wish I did.

This is my third Clifton purchase. I've worn Clifton 2 and 3 and by far the Clifton 4 is the most narrow. It's so disappointing that the change is significant that I can notice the change. I'm hoping that after a few more runs the toe box will stretch, but I think it's unlikely. Hoka-Please don't change something when it's just right!! I also feel the arch is a little higher and I'm getting the dreaded blister in my arch which is something I always get when I wear the Clayton's. However, I feel the cushioning is good and I hope the durability hasn't changed.

I have worn Hoka since 2012. This Clinton 4 version has much less cushioning than the Clinton 3 — my feet and toes actually ache after a run and it certainly isn’t comfortable during my run. Highly disappointed in this newer version. I would not recommend Clinton 4 to anyone, and this was after I recommended the Clinton 3 to my friends and even strangers who complimented the previous version’s look.

Not a fan of the 4. I've run in 2s and 3s without issue, but the 4s feel like stability bricks compared to earlier versions. The curve (last) also seems to be more pronounced on the 4s, which is not a good fit for my foot.

I was so excited to have new running shoes to start my marathon training and wore the day on the kickoff run. I was disappointed when I experienced rubbing and discomfort on my right arch. When I got home I discovered I got a large blister. I will be sending them back. IMy left foot was comfortable, but my right foot got a blister and some toe pain to. I wear a 10 wide in running shoes. Did anybody experience this with the Hoka One Clifton 4? Do you recommend another style?

If you want cushioned shoes with a very high arch, these are great. I ran on them for about a month, running 10+ miles a week. After 3-4 miles, my insoles got the worst blisters. These reappeared every run so I had to return them.

I like the Clifton 3 better. This one is heavy. I want to like it but every time I run with it my legs feel so heavy.

I really liked the shoes from the beginning better than the Clifton 3 which I found very wide for my feet. Sadly both models keep giving me blisters next to the bone on the inside of the foot... :( Bear that in mind if you have kind of a narrow foot.

Please bring back the Clifton 3. That shoe had a wider toe. I agree with other reviewers that this toe is too narrow. The Clifton 3 was perfect- great heel cushion AND wider toe. I am so sad you changed that perfect model. Please bring it back.

My 13 year old daughter LOVED her Hoka One One Clifton 3 BUT these are not the same! They run small. Her heel slips out. It's a shame because my daughter really wanted to like them.
