Just enough to pack your laptop, wallet, book and an umbrella. I love the drink holder and the red strap to put the key on.

This pack is replacing my custom messenger bag that's lasted me over 15 years. Hopefully this one will last me 15 years as well, first impressions reflect that it can. I love the styling of it, and think it's worth the extra $$ to go custom on the colors/textiles. Thanks Timbuk2!

very nice backpack. not to big but still plenty of room for my stuff ( hoodie, phone, wallet and half a dozen other things.). 15" laptop fits perfectly with plenty of protection. caught this on sale at 30% off, can't beat that.

Very solid construction at a good price. This is my third bag. I will buy more in the future.

This is my second Division backpack. I still love the style. It has just enough storage space without being bulky. I like that I can get my 13" MacBook Pro laptop out of the back without needing to unzip the main pocket. And now that you can get it customized, I opted to get a color and material combination that would really pop in both day and night since I'm riding my bike more to work.

On of the best backpacks I've ever owned. Well made and styled for professional settings. Contrary to other reviews who can't figure out the front zipper, it's a plus for me. The flap over the zipper hasn't constrained me and adds to the sleek look. I'm not sure the expansion straps are needed, but otherwise I would not change a thing.

Wanted it for a day-to-day use. I have a smaller frame so it fits great. Front zip pocket is harder for me to access when using on strap due to the design (top section hangs over the zipper) but not a huge deal for me.

A well made, sleek and functional pack. Justabout perfect. The medium size suits my needs, and I can access the main compartment very easily. Hope to give it years of use.

I have been a fan of Timbuk2 for 15 years, and their bags never disappoint. I just purchased this backpack to offload the weight from my one shoulder. It is comfortable and well padded. And the organization is perfect so that I don't overstuff my bag.

I have always loved my Timbuk2s, and I was super sad to retire my previous bag. I have had multiple issues with my shoulders and back so having a great, ergonomically designed bag is necessary. This bag is perfect for that need and my commuting needs - bike, bus, scooter, truck. Thanks for keeping me moving!

The last Timbuk2 bag was a messenger bag I bought when I was in grad school 10 years ago. To this day, I haven't had to replace it because it holds up so well. Finally, my girlfriend said she was sick of me wearing the messenger bag and wanted me to get a backpack, so I went with the division because of it's minimalism and simplicity. I have to say, I think this bag is constructed with even higher standards than my last one. The attention to detail and quality are superb - I don't know how you Timbuk2 can run a business when I never need to replace their equipment.

Awesome quality and durability. Smaller than j thought it would be but it made me get rid of a lot of stuff I didn't need to be carrying. Still enough room to carry my laptop, shoes, glasses, umbrella and tea tumbler. Would recommend to anyone that needs a nice sleek backpack that's light and durable.

I previously purchased crossbody type laptop bag but despite the 15" laptop capacity, the laptop wouldn't fit in the laptop slot. This one perfectly fits my 15" Thinkpad and the shoulder is also very comfortable. The backpack nicely fits small things with many pockets and I can also fit a few thick books in there. The width is also good that it fits well under the airplane seat.
The price was also reasonable that this was well worth what it is. Highly recommended. Best Timbuk I ever purchased.

Worked with Andy from Timbuk2 and got the oxide heather division backpack. It looks great and keeps my laptop plus cables, notebook and misc tools for getting around Los Angeles. Plus, any problems, work with customer service. They get job done.

I take the transit often & I like that it's easy to carry. It's comfortable. It has lots of space... I can put my lunch, books in it. I like the color as well! Would definitely recommend to a friend.

I am a school administrator and was looking for a backpack to fit my slim 13" laptop in with other documents. I found this backpack and am loving it. The ONLY critisims I have for this backpack are: 1. The front pocket doesn't open. I may even cut the elastic pieces that prevent that, 2. The chest straps are far too high to be useful so I removed them.

Summary: This is a great bag, but some small improvements could make it even better.
Good things about it: locks great, comfortable to wear, lots of pockets, very good backpack overall, I like it a lot. Things I would improve: 1) the laptop pocket should have 2 zipper pulls (like the main compartment) so that I can open it in any direction I want to. 2) the front pocket is terrible (as others have noted), very hard to open and it is also too big for the way it opens. I would improve the opening, and I would also add a second smaller front pocket in front of it, for small things like airline tickets or work badges. 3) I'd love a separate pocket at base of the bag for power cables (for a time timbuk2 messenger bags had this and it was great--it would be nice if backpacks had that too.)

Overall, I have no complaints with this backpack. It's perfectly sized to fit my 15" laptop, charger, lunch, notebook, and jacket, all with room to spare. If you're not commuting with a ton of stuff, this is a good fit. Only complaint is that the outside zipper on the front of the backpack can be a little tough to open. I do wish that the straps were more water resistant as well, but as long as you're not soaking your backpack, you should be fine.

Premier Review of Free Product(What's this?)
So far so good with my new Timbuk2 Division Pack - my laptop fits snugly in the padded compartment and there is plenty of room in the larger compartment for my lunch and a sweater. The water bottle pocket on the side could be a little bigger, but it fits my bicycle water bottle pretty well. The fabric is sturdy and has a coating that appears to make it waterproof, although I haven't used it in the rain just yet. The straps are padded and pretty comfy, and they stay in place with the chest strap, which is movable to a few different locations, you know, in case you have boobs. Also! The padding on the back is in strips so there's a little space, not quite so hot and sweaty. All in all, I'm pretty stoked about this pack - maybe I'll update after a while of use too with some more suggestions.

I use the Division as a daily driver to and from work and the nights that follow. It is a very comfortable pack with great capacity and weight. Using the front pocket will however make it thicker than the specified dimensions.

When I first saw the bag I was a little disappointed. It looked smaller than the backpack I was replacing and didn't seem that it was actually going to fit my laptop. But, not only is my laptop fine in there, but the bag is actually able to fit quite a bit of books and other items, like chargers, really well. Everything is snug in there, so there's little chance of things jostling around and getting broken as you move throughout the day. The only thing that I am still slightly disappointed with is the water bottle pocket on the side. But that is so minor and doesn't, in my mind, qualify for giving this backpack less than 5 stars.

This was a father's day gift and the perfect one for the man who gave me life. He uses this as a daily pack instead of a suitcase to work and loves the practicality and the waterproof qualities. Definitely a go and would buy again in the future.
