Great boot. On my 4th pair. I wear them for work on a construction site. I am a Project Manager so I generally only walk around reviewing work not actually doing the work. Extremely comfortable boot good for 20-30k steps per day with no uncomfort in feet. My only complaint is where the rubber sole is glued up onto the toe has peeled off on every pair I have owned (only reason for 4 stars). This is the only reason why I have to replace them every year. I do a lot of walking and the soles have always held up with little wear.

Boots are true to Merrell reputation being amazingly comfortable right out of the box. Been wearing Merrell for years and have not found anything like them for the price. I agree with a few other reviews in the sides not coming up far enough on the ankle like the old Moab Rover I still love to wear but you get used to them. They're also a little lighter than the Rover. Also agree with these taking a step back not having the waterproof tongue gussets. My old Rovers were a 5. These aren't quite the boot but darn close and already my go to boots I don't want to take off.

Finally. I’ve been looking for about 6 months for the right fit in a waterproof hiking boot that was also lightweight. This is comfortable and looks good too.

I just bought these boots for a trip to Iceland. I wanted something waterproof, warm, comfortable (without braking in time), and rugged. They succeeded in all my criteria. I took them hiking, horse riding, and walking for hours through city streets.

Took these bad boys through a few hard trails in northern GA. I wore good socks and legging and had no issues with 40F. My only complaint might be a surprising one, slippery when wet. Thats right watch your step on wet clay mud or rocks.

Comfortable as can be, Super light weight but durable. The only reason I can't give them a 5 is that they are ugly as sin, but I still like them.

Where do I start? I bought this boot over a year ago and have worn it nearly daily. I chose it for the leather construction and more importantly the eyelet construction. Over the years I have had two other different pairs of Merrill's of the nylon MOAB variety and the nylon loop eyelets failed while the rest of the boot held up great. This pair has held up pretty well except the area around the ankle that showed considerable wear. I believe this to be due to rubbing against the interior of my car while driving. Over time the leather has creased especially around the toe area and lost its shape and in general doesn't seem to maintain the long term good looks and fit of the nylon MOABs as the leather breaks. I will say I ordered the 10.5 M in all pairs I have owned and the fit and feel is different from the leather to nylon pairs. I will say the waterproof feature has been put too the test and I have never had wet feet with Merrill's in spite of being in some pretty heavy rain for extended periods.

Like merrell products but these boots are to big and I need to return was thinking I should get to a store that sells them and get correct fit . Have had merrell boots last 2 winters but those boots don't seem to be available anymore. I am picky because I don't normally wear much more than flip flops or ugh slippers so finding a comfortable boot has always been a challenge. Hope I have success in store again.

If I were the maker of the boots and king of the world, I would change make the leather over the top of the toes/foot slightly thicker and use a nicer insert for cushioning.

Just bought this today after passing off the other more common non-leather Moab models mainly because of its more all-around fashionable look. I guess I could use this not only during hikes but in whatever and where ever conditions although I have to watch out for water levels due to the absence of tongue bellows. This also just realized my overdue want of a mid Merrell boot!

I have purchased two pair of these boots in the last five years. On my first pair the stitching has started to come apart. However, they are five years old and have been treated quite rough. However the only real complaint that I have is the fact that the toe came loose after a year and no matter what I can not re-glue them . They fit well and I have never had a problem with the water proof membrane.

Great boot overall. I took them out of the box and went on a 12 mile hike in the mountains and the boot was great. I was a bit worried as I have a wide foot and couldn't find a wide size, but this boot fit fine. The only thing I found disappointing was that I expected it to be waterproof up to the top of the tongue and it wasn't - when I stepped into water above the base of the tongue I discovered that was the limit of it's waterproofing.

The front flap does not stay attached on the boot. This is the second pair that this has happened to & will be my last if it occurs again. It doesn't take long for the front flap to start separating.

This is a great boot. It's comfortable, holds up to long hikes, has good grip, and looks great. It's only waterproof up to the eyelets, however, so even a small puddle can be enough to splash the top and get your socks wet. Not to mention a steady downpour, creek or wet field.
Very happy with Merrell, however, who gave me credit towards boots that will fit my needs. Maybe just clarify your terminology

I thought these boots in July and it is now November 6th and the blue is already coming apart on the soles where it meets the leather and the tread is almost worn flat on the balls of the feet. They are comfortable and they will keep your feet dry but for the price I don't feel they are worth it. I might get 6 months out of these before they are trash. I am a truck driver who gets in and out of the truck a lot but I wouldn't say these are being used under harsh conditions. I would expect better from Merrell and these will probably be the last boots I buy from them.

I really enjoy these boots. This is the 3rd pair I’ve purchased. There’s the only problem I have-they don’t last as long.

The boots were about a 1/4 higher on the outsides than the insides causing my knees to come together. I have never worn shoes that have done this before. The sizing was good but the not worth the likelihood of knee and ankle problems. I really liked the last pair of Merrel books that I had.

These simply aren't as comfortable as my old pair of Merrell boots for long distances. Although the fit is nice and snug, the sole is seeming harder or the insole lacks sufficient cushioning. I've trudged thousands of miles in my old pair and would continue to do so were it not for a split in the sole that renders them useless for wet weather... but I can still slip them on to compare to the new pair or even continue to use them for drier hikes. The Vibram sole itself appears to be identical, down to the tread pattern, so I suppose something changed regarding the insole. The new boots are still "good"... just "...not as good as..." my old pair.

I really like the picture of these shoes, because it looks nothing like the ones I received. The ones I thought I ordered look leather and one tone. The ones I received are suede and two toned with yellow accessories. They are very comfortable. I’m afraid to reorder the ones I want in fear of getting the incorrect ones again.

These boots look great, are comfortable, and fit as expected. No break-in necessary. They would be 5 stars if they were fully waterproof. There is no bellows tongue which allows water to seep in at the top of the foot. I bought these for walking around town and riding my bike when it's wet/raining. They are fine for walking through wet grass or a parking lot, but if it's actively raining they won't keep you bone dry, which is why I bought them. Also, not that they are advertised to be insulated, but my feet felt the cold after riding my bike for less than an hour in the upper 40s. If you want a good looking water-resistant boot to wear around town these will do the trick. If you are looking for a truly waterproof boot I would recommend something else.
