First off, I would like to say that I wear(with the exception of a pair of flip flops) only Merrell shoes. I purchased a pair of these while on vacation and they just felt a little but different then my other shoes. When I was moving some things in my shed, I found a pair of my Moab boots I had previous to these. And the quality is crazy different. Like, it don't even look like they came from the same company. The leather is noticeably a lot less quality, the soles look cheap. And I found out the hard way that these new Moab mids don't have a bellows tongue. How in the world can you claim waterproof without that? I don't think I have ever had Merrell without a bellows tongue. And it goes even further downhill from here. The seams don't match up on the inside of the shoe(there is an obvious " gap between the seams ant there is just thread and a bunch of glue to hold it in place. Next time I buy a pair of Merrell, I will definitely give them a thorough examination before I make the purchase.

I use these boots for everyday work as a land surveyor. The are comfortable with no break in. The lateral support is not great but I don't use these for hiking as I have other boots for that. In general they are decent however my main gripe is single stitching along part of the shoe led to ripping out fairly quickly.( Within a few months.) To be fair I do work in thick conditions with briars and brambles ripping at your shoes(and skin) but believe double stitching would have definitely helped. Also the upper lace hook is made out of white metal. It got bent when moving between some rocks and broke when I tried to straighten out so the lace could fit back in. I liked them enough to purchase another pair, let's see how they will last. Sometimes minor details make a big difference.

Seems well built but I returned it because it had an edge on the inside that rubbed my foot the wrong way.

I had to get a half size smaller than I usually have. Still waiting for the replacement item.

Wearing these in my woodshop proved to be itchy and uncomfortable because wood chips, dust, and shavings continually worked their way into my socks through the loose tongue.

The shoes are nice when they are new, but I expected the shoes to hold up better. If you will only use the shoes to hike in once in a while, then they should last you a while. I have owned them for about 9 months and worn them Monday-Friday for about 5 hours a day, and they are falling apart. I started noticing wear on the shoes at about the 4th month, the rubber started to peel off a bit and the threads started to rip. At month 9 the rubber is falling apart on the front of both shoes and the threads completely ripped in some spots.

I've been wearing these shoes for a couple of weeks now and have some reservations. The good: these shoes are very comfortable straight out of the box and almost feel like a pair of slippers, they also look good. The not so good: I ordered the normal width and these shoes seem very roomy and somewhat loose, which offers very limited ankle support. In fact, I'd be hesitant to do any real hiking in them due to the loose fit. When it comes to water proof/resistance, I have to say there isn't ANY. My feet got wet just walking through some wet grass and as others have said the tongue lacks a connected side web that would allow water to seep in (however, I don't think there's actually any water barrier anywhere in the shoe to begin with). The leather is very soft making the shoe comfortable, but it will also become marked and scratched easily. Overall seems like a good shoe to be worn around town/city (on dry days), but a poor choice for walking or hiking in general.

Very comfortable fit but durability may be an issue. I've been wearing them for about three weeks now, I went on a hike where there was a lot of rocks and Jagged terrain and the soul on the heel part of the shoe has come loose.

This is my third pair of Moabs, purchased for another year of backpacking on Isle Royale NP. I purchased them on-line as I knew exactly what I wanted. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed to find that they are now more like a shoe than a boot. Less ankle support, they feel more like a tennis shoe. The lack of webbing between the tongue and lacing means that no matter how well the rest of the boot is waterproofed, my feet get wet when I'm in heavy dew or step in a 2" deep puddle. Why did you re-design a perfect boot??? Sadly, this will likely be my last pair.

These are comfortable hiking boots but after only a couple days of wearing them they seem to be falling apart. They are also not waterproof as listed.

This is my 2nd. pr. of Merrell hikers. I love the quality and the way they feel. But, this model could come up a little on the ankle to give more support. I bought this pair about a yr. ago and have hardly worn them. I'm still wearing my 8 or 9 yr. old pair until I can find another Merrell boot that I will work better for me than this model.

Over all is a good shoe, but the insole is too thin, so when you are standing all day, it's not that comfortable, this is my second pair, and in both I added a thicker Avia insole and made it much better, Merrell should invest in better insole to give it mor cushion and support for longer use

I really like this boot and found them to be very comfortable. My issue is that after a month (only wore them about 10 times) the plastic grommet busted off. The retailer I bought them from does not provide exchanges and does not take returns so now I have these very nice and pricey boots that now have a significant defect.

I just received my first and last pair of Merrel boots. I bought the boots because of their stated water proofing, vibram sole, and looks. OK, it is a good looking boot, but it is little more than fancy high top athletic shoes. The biggest problem with these as a all weather boot is the non-gusseted tongue. If you step off a curb, or are walking in rain or snow for any length of time, your feet WILL get wet. With no gusset, the water will come right into the boot. Another problem is the heat welded sole, for me, it's an issue. So, if you are looking for a good looking boot to go with your jeans, this is a good choice. However, if you want a descent pair of boots that will keep up with wherever your feet take you, not so much. I may keep them for casual dress, but not for much more. Hope this helps.

Boots are very comfortable and I love a all leather boot. Though boot is not waterproof. Water comes through tongue because it doesn't have bellows tongue, especially in wet lawn. Also allows dirt and everything else your walking through to come in. Also toe rubber is separating. I wouldn't buy these again. I had the Moab FST LTR which were best boot ever, but they don't make them anymore, wish they did.

Absolutely Loved this boot but it is shorter then all the other mid boots I own from Merrell. I was so disappointed and returned them. If you are ok with this height you will love this boot (:

I purchased these a couple of months ago. All is mostly well, as they are comfortable for my 4-5 miles of walking (sealed painted concrete), and 8-10 hours of standing (carpeted concrete) every day. I gave them a 4/5 for comfort, since I had to add a memory foam toe box insert for enough comfort for the balls of my feet. Outside of that, they only periodically hurt my (oddly-shaped) feet when I rest my feet in an awkward position. I gave them a 3/5 stars overall, since, only three months into ownership, a seam has come completely undone. I don't really "push" these boots too hard, like others do, hiking or use off-pavement. I figured these should last several years before a failure of this sort. The lugs on the soul are almost completely as-new.

I bought a pair 8 month ago. I haven't done any serious hiking, just every day use. The boots have minimal wear noticeable on the sole and leather, but the stitching in several locations on the both boots especially around the both sides of the boots

Your item was specified to be water proof. It was not, nor was the product I returned it for also by your company. Would not use for any type of wet work. These are girl boots.

Very attractive boot. However, it has no tongue bellow and this was a deal breaker for me. I also feel the price is steep for missing this important part of the design.

I have owned several pair of these boots. The boots are comfortable but do not hold up where the toe meets the rubber. Both pair I have owned broke apart in the same area.

Not very Durable. Front sole is coming off toe of shoe within a year. I bought Columbia brand shoes/hiking boots last time for about same price and they were way better in all categories.
