My feet got wet on many occasions since I bought them. Then I realized the shoes are supposed to be waterproof. It even says it on the side of the boot.
Also, one of the hook eyelets broke at the very top where the laces wrap around.

Absolutely NOT waterproof. First time out, water soaked right through the material that makes up the entire front of the boot. I gave it 2 stars because they're comfortable and lightweight. I would NOT recommend these boots if you work or play in the rain or around water. Good for a dress-up date?

they work well and are comfortable. but after 2 weeks of walking 20k a day they are falling apart. there is already a hole in the fabric of the inner heel. and the front of the shoe is starting to open.

I took reasonably good care of these but they just didn't hold up. A few months after I purchased them one of the side seams by the laces ripped out. I stitched it back up and the same one on the other shoe ripped out. Long story short, all four seams are now my work. A couple of different chunks fell off the sole. I glued them back on.
Maybe it's bad materials or maybe bad design, but there are weak spots in this shoe. I expected to get at least a year out of them without repairs, but no luck.
Comfortable, but shoddy. Would not buy again.

This is an odd boot. The design is something you could wear to the office, but the sole is super aggressive meant for the outdoors. It's comfortable through the foot, yet the ankle height is a tweener so there's really no support. It's like whoever designed this shoe/boot couldn't make up their mind. Figure it out.

These are supposed to be waterproof, but they are not even water resistant. I work for USPS and have a 15 mile walking route. I have only had these boots for two weeks, and today was the first time it has rained. Even though i had applied a coating of mink oil in preparation and despite the fact that it was only a mild Spring shower, my feet were soaked in less than 20 minutes.

I actually have 3 pairs of these. Both the brown and the black Mid, along with a black, Low. These shoes are great for daily wear and maybe even for desert hiking.
I'm currently in Norway for a work trip and naturally went to explore this amazing country. Found a waterfall and went exploring.
My FIRST step on to a wet rock and my foot completely went out from under me. These shoes have ZERO traction in wet conditions and it almost caused me some severe harm on several occasions. I spent more time worrying about my footing than enjoying nature.

Yes, they are comfortable, but not as durable as I'd like. I bought these last July. I've been reasonably careful with them, never wearing them for rough work. A couple of months ago a seam on the side of the instep blew out. The stitching tore out. Now I have a pair of boot with barely worn soles and a big gap in the side. I was expecting longer life out of them.

Great fit and comfort out of the box. However lacking durability started to fall apart after one month of wear. Leather started to pull apart from sole. Stitching came apart from seams. Customer service did great job with warranty replacement however first order arrived in three days replacement took three weeks ?

These boots are only waterproof to the bottom of the tongue. Any water level above that will result in soaked feet. The tongue is NOT gusseted and will not keep water out. Below that, the shoe is waterproof. So, if you are planning to splash about in shallow puddles (< 3" deep), this boot might work well for you... I am baffled at the fact that a company would claim a boot is waterproof and then deliver a product that is only partially waterproof.
The boots do provide adequate arch support and seem to be well constructed. Time will be the judge. They don't seem to need an intensive break-in period either. Overall, they are fairly comfortable.
I think these boots will work well for day hikes that are dry and bopping about town. They are not going to be my go-to scrambling or hunting boots though.....not by a long shot.
Too bad they aren't 100% waterproof. I believe the boots are capable of way more than I will be able to yse them for.....

Very comfortable. There are a couple of seams that need to be double stitched. I have had several pairs, and every pair the same seams come apart.

I'll keep it short. The tongue of the boot is only attached to the base. There is no lining or anything to keep water from coming through the top of the boot! Terrible design flaw that could have easily been fixed. Don't buy.

My husband bought these over the summer and found them to be very comfortable. However, after less than six months, the sole has started to separate from the shoe, and they look very beaten up, like a much older shoe. He just wears them to an office job and so really thought they would last longer.

I purchased these boots and after hiking in them found that they are in no way water resistant or water proof. I am very disappointed in this product.

I really like how this mid-boot fits - super comfortable, light and doesn't make it look like I'm wearing Bozo's boots (I have big feet).
These boots were purchased to replace an old, beat up, well used pair of Merrells (so old, I don't remember what they are called). I was very disappointed when I wore them outside for the first time. It had rained the night before and the grass was wet (no rain at this time). The tongue is not attached so any moisture or dirt that comes over your toes goes straight into your shoe. After 5 minutes, my feet were SOAKED (I had also waterproofed them). Same with dirt and foxtails - straight into your shoe. If you don't plan on wearing these boots in "nature', get them because they are super comfortable. If you will be on a trail, gravel road, large lawn... You know, "outside", don't get them. I've had them 2 months and they look like they're 2 years old. Haven't held up, separating over the toe. Tried to take them back, but I had, obviously, worn them. Sad. I really wanted them to work. Now, I have expensive paper weights.

I have owned 3 pairs of these... the rubber came off the toe ALL 3 TIMES. When it does, water comes in as nothing is then between your socks and the incoming liquid. I think it might be time to move on...

These boots are horrible! Bought them and into a few months of wearing them the front of the shoes started bending upwards.. the front sole started peeling off...definitely not waterproof! I've had to switch brands cause the three pairs of Merrel I have bought the stitching has been horrendous! Stay away from Merrell brand boots!

There's creases in the toe area on one and the other toe tip is not attached fully and falling off on the corner so it was cut ? personally after my online experience and now seeing my item i think it's safe to say this was a total waist of money I for one will not be a repeat customer nor recommend this brand to anyone. Just like all great named companies you pay for just that a name. Quality is no longer a priority

Hurts my feet. They are not as comfortable as my other Merrill's. Very disappointed especially as much as they cost. Won't buy again.

I have these boots and twice had to have both re-sewn at seam across bottom of laces (formed from natural bend while walking). This is a design flaw unworthy of it's price and I have been very disappointed, especially given infrequent use. So, unless you don't mind having to constantly monitor against leakage, stay away from this design.

Very comfortable but the quality was very disappointing after 3 months was gluing soles back on and after 6 months went to another boot.

I had 3 pairs of the old style and they were the best all around shoes. This new style leaks water in the gusset of the tongue, not the same quality as the old style. So these are not water proof! I have had over 15 pairs of Merrell shoes over the years and I'm really disappointed with this pair.

I bought these boots in May 2021. I have worn them a few times. They are comfortable and light enough for what I'm doing with them. I mainly got these for a lightweight waterproof hiker to hunt in the spring and early fall. I took them spring turkey hunting this May with some dee on the grass. I had to end my hunt early because I had to dump the water out of these boots. These aren't even close to waterproof. To top it all off I already have a hole in them less than a month after buying them. If you want waterproof these are not it.
