I really wanted to love these but they just didn't work for me. The ankle rubs me in the wrong place and felt like it was going to rub right through to my Achilles. At the end of my short 1.5 mile hike I had more dirt in these than I did when wearing Nike's on the same hike.

I had to return these immediately after I tried them on (the trouble with buying on-line). There is no arch support. The shoes look great and if you are flat footed then these are for you.

These are cute to look at and I have had compliments on these boots. But, I wear them for work and they have worn out in a Very short period of time. My feet were starting to hurt daily wearing these. This was a lot of money to spend for boots that hurt me so quickly. Ordered a different pair of boots and throwing these in the trash.

I received this shoe as a gift and within a week realized saw a small pull in the fabric closest to my ankle. Now, a month later, that pull has grown to a hole. Very disappointing. I wore the soles on my last shoes, but the uppers were in great shape after two years.

I was really excited to receive these shoes and had high expectations, was planning on trekking Tour Du Mont Blanc this summer... I normally wear a 9/9.5 and based on reviews I chose the 9.5. They fit well when I wore them around the house, but when I took them for a hike my toes kept jamming . Sadly will not be hiking around in these + unable to return at this point.

Sexist shoes? Still? Man... I wanted to like this brand but I am done. I had a pair of their hiking boots years ago that took some time to break in. Back then I had read that they had some special gender specific footbed technology. I bought this pair as I needed something quickly so didn't shop around too much but they never fit right and I am not breaking them in this go-round. I just got a different pair that looks amazingly similar by E.B. so I tried them both on to see what the deal is and wouldn't you know it the stupid footbed with the awkward support just throws me all out of alignment. I did a google deep dive and sure enough the footbed still has a gender engineered midsole. The theory is that women's wider hips or "Q angle" from knee to hip cause them to pronate at the knees... which means turn outward. I can't even picture that. Merrell shoes have awkward midsoles that make my legs feel all awkward where before they felt and functioned just fine. The Q angle theory is not true and has been found to not be true in research. Hundreds of thousands of years of evolution did not give women inferiorly angled legs that this shoe company is going to fix. I like the tech spec stuff they put into their thoughtfully designed shoes, though I've also found that certain features just don't come in women's versions... I'm done. Done, done.

When I tested these shoes in my home they seemed ok. However, on my first hike I realized that the material holding the tongue in place was too thick to fit smoothly against the side of the shoe. Walking on a trail caused excruciating pain because the material joined to the tongue increasingly bunched up and dug into my foot. I tried many ways to make the shoe comfortable but comfort was unattainable. Extremely disappointed.

I have been wearing the GoreTex version of this shoe for about 12 years. My favorite thing about these were that I would put them on and there was a cushiony cloud of softness surrounding my feet. No break in time and never ever a blister. I recently gave 2 pairs of my shoes to homeless people, so I ordered a new pair. What the heck? No more cushion around the foot and just a hard shoe that fit too large. So bummed out. I am going to Spain and I was hoping to wear these for hiking. Now I have no shoes to wear. I'll have to return these.
